I rather money depreciate in value than to have to have a shotgun to guard my fridge.

They did at the tax payers expense. Nobody went to jail. I think a corporate grocery store can handle the shrinkage caused by btg. Considering that shrinkage is negligible to the food they actually throw out, I think one in temporary need taking a nice filet ain't the worst thing to happen. You will have your entire life to throw your money their way. Unless you are constantly poor. Then you could frame my solution in s robin hood type rationiltion. Just make sure you get your veggies.

You're making a mistake by living outside your means, and you have it backwards: don't give up beer, it's the cheap, affordable option here. Give up season tickets and save as much of that $500 as possible. Talk about fiscal irresponsibility.

I just can't imagine spending 500 dollars and breaking the bank by doing so, lol.

I think he meant playing hockey? That falls under health. I say do it and maybe you don't pay for shaving blades for the next year.

Get a better job?

If you can't support yourself the way you would like to, it's time to either cut expenditure or move to a better paying job.

I've done the latter twice in the past 5 years, doubling my salary on both occasions.

Look in the job market, see what's available... I did, it was one of the best things I had ever done.

Fuck cutting expenditure.

Easier said than done.

If you can't budget your money, there's no point in making more money.

But why would you willingly put yourself in that situation? What if money's tight and something happens and you suddenly find yourself in immediate need of cash that you don't have?

He sure as fuck isn't going to pay the bills with hockey, he can't even skate backwards.

I personally feel that exercise is important and if that means not spending on other things, so be it. Health is more important than a little debt. Although he mentions his love of beer and they probably just cancel out health wise.

You don't have to spend $500 to get proper exercise. He also hasn't clarified if it's equipment or tickets.

500 for physical health, and being part of a group. Thebenifits are worth 500$. I would put that expense up there with food. Unless you have kids and they want to play hockey.

I can find plenty of ways to maintain proper physical health, while being part of a group, that cost significantly less than $500. I don't see why, if money is tight, you wouldn't want to choose a more affordable alternative.

To each their own.
