to me Digweed, Ferrer and Tong qualify as not that commercial... agree?

i'm not trying to say they'll go 'Get Lost' type of bookings every week but that it will be better than the cheese we see at a lot of places right now.

Not taking a position, just asking for opinions, seems not very consistent to me though.

agreed.

but I see Greg's point. the talent booker for Insomniac is a techno head and does try to stay current that genre.

Is Joaquin Bamaca the talent booker for Insomniac?

No.

no. Joaquin is the marketing manager. a guy by the name of Carlos does the talent booking. He used to work for Opium Group out in Miami. He handles most of the bookings and Pasquale does the big guys ie. Tiesto, Armin, Guetta, blah blah blah.

i agree that's a wide variation of djs/genres there. a lot of those djs seem to be there based on their package deals with also playing the festivals too.

i wasn't trying to say they will have the eclectic booking every week... just that it is going to go in that direction more than it has been so far recently. Only time will tell... and also i'm sure how many people turn out for the techno and other similar djs will come into play.

I haven't been to Exchange yet, so I have a question......

Looking at the ticket page/buy tickets button:

http://fla.vor.us/1140432-John-Digw...-Angeles--.html

...can someone clarify if there is a difference (other than price, obviously) to the STANDARD tickets or the INCEPTION SATURDAYS tickets? Since Digweed is playing on a Saturday, do you have to buy the inception saturday tickets or will the standard tickets work? Is there a difference in "privledges" for the inception saturdays vs. the standard tickets?

Thanks in advance for any info!

pretty sure the Inception Saturdays is a ticket that lets you go each Sat during November - hence the higher price.

Aha, yes, I see now..... thank you for clarifying that for me, cool1g!

Tix acquired!

Swamper - mission accomplished (voted in the poll)!

ETA: erm, Swamper's post was a ghost!

so what time are you all getting there. I have not been to exchange yet. How is entry?

What time do we think digweed will play?

Posted by TheFox00 on Oct-19-2012 18:46:

Our group is going to get to Downtown a bit early. Have dinner and drinks and then head over to Exchange right when it opens around 10:00pm. I think traffic around the area is going to be crazy. Both UCLA and USC are playing in town that night and then combine that with the usual LA Saturday night traffic. Plus, the event is listed as going till 3:00am...so you can't lag like an Avalon night.

Billy... do you only have one hard ticket to this?

Posted by Miss Julia on Oct-30-2012 01:48:

I'm thinking of going to this to see everyone. I've been out of the loop and miss all the TA's.

Posted by 72hrpartyanimal on Oct-30-2012 02:49:

i have several hard tickets for this. Helping out an old friend at Exchange. Most of his promoters all cater to the Bennasi, Avicii, commercial crowd. No one really has a following for the underground. He asked me to help out this time around. I owed him a favor for all he's done for me when I used to work there.
