Please post something you consider good of this genre. I'm not asking to be an ass, I'm curious.

They had to take the genre SOMEWHERE afer everyone had copied Lex Luger for the millionth time. Just too bad it had to involve copying brostep cliches and awful stab synth melodies from the likes of Afrojack and SHM, when they could've tried something like this:

This is the first good track in the thread, but is it really trap? Doesn't really sound like genre music at all, and if I had to place it I'd put it somewhere near electro.

Is there any genre out there that you don't know great underground songs of?

Great track, thanks for putting some good music in this thread.

It's not trap per se, but it is clearly heavily inspired by it, primarily the kind of beats Lex Luger made trap famous with.

edit: Like so:

Jamie Vex'd (the guy behind Kuedo) plays loads of trap in his sets these days as well, and it is more of this melodic, more subtle side of it that's tucked away somewhere in a horde of mixtapes.

The whole Kuedo project is a great example of how trap CAN develop further, if the majority of people making it look beyond the mainstream.

Kuedo's recent output has been phenomenal, btw. I loved Severent.

I'll try to remember this thread when I get home later and post something. My apologies in advance when I will probably forget

e: it can be kind of hard to classify songs as trap I guess, I personally don't search out trap music specifically but I come across some songs that could be classified in the genre (or i am totally wrong, whatever)

Baauer - Harlem Shake (Baauer has a pretty big love/hate divide)

Flosstradamus - Rollup (Baauer Remix)

more baauer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZXxrUy4vMs

Raid over Moscow - Yellow Finger (Zyntherius Remix) (truthfully not sure if this is really trap music)

there is probably a few tracks that would qualify as trap here, in a mix i did a few months ago:

sorry for linking so many baauer songs, i like him

you're kind of an idiot so i dont know why i'm replying, but the "trap" music that is being discussed isnt the original trap music.

the discussion is referring to the explosion in the electronic music scene in the past few months relating to the fusion of hip hop, dubstep, and bass sounds, which lots of people have been calling trap music

cool we are are cleaning the stigma of edm with this new genre.

Posted by Zharen on Oct-11-2012 06:53:

This is a giant step backwards for EDM. At least with other genres like dubstep and electro house they managed to bring something new and distinctive (Even if most was still shit). All this does is just copy one genre of mainstream music and attempt to call it its own. So disappointed in this scene's deevolution.

I kind of agree..

Posted by EddieZilker on Oct-11-2012 12:24:

More like crap music.

Get it? Because trap rhymes with crap and everyone thinks it's crap so... That shit's funny.

I haven't even listened to it yet.
