No and no. It's from The Day After Tomorrow.
It's Canada, the water will probably just freeze before it reaches your knees

It's from a similar movie called the day after tomorrow.
Let's imagine that picture was real for a second. Would you be posting things like "omg" on Facebook, or would you be driving as fast as you can to the grocery store to get as many supplies possible? It's good to know that the grocery store wont be completely overrun the day that something like this actually happens.
Well, you can logically do both
Specially if there's a "posted via mobile" beneath the comments, hehe.
Some lady in toront got smacked in the face with a sign and died.

Wait, CNN reports there are 9 metre waves hitting the area surrounding the NY harbour! (32.5 feet in random units)
That's around 20% the size of the Statue of Liberty, according to Wikipedia, so I guess the answer to my first question is, funnily enough, "yes"
Does anyone know if "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" will be cancelled due to the storm? It sounds like the reasonable thing to do but, as a fan, I'm really curious
Colbert was a rerun tonight
Damn it's really bad over there

Oh, as I expected.
Apparently this storm will be responsible for one full hour of extra productivity in my life tomorrow... and maybe the day after tomorrow as well
Edit:
"The Day After Tomorrow" looks so ominous in my post now
Eric.
Numbers Roundup :
11 deaths reported, along with some very fortunate rescue efforts, as a result of Hurricane Sandy, according to CNN.
10,000 calls to 911 in New York City each half-hour, the Mayors office reports.
670,000 people in New York City alone dont have power, according to the city.
5M people without power as a result of the storm, according to the Washington Post.
This is pretty fucked up:
" 20 babies in the neonatal unit, four of which were on ventilators, were removed from the hospital."
"Making things more complicated is the fact there are no elevators in the building and many patients are being carried down stairs."

Well, it apparently got worse:

| Many people have reported witnessing bright lights in the sky over Manhattan due to an explosion at the ConEdison plant at 14th Street on the east side of the city. It appears this video, unconfirmed but widely shared, captured that moment. It's dramatic. |

The storm was less than impressive in DC, but that didn't stop everyone from inexplicably freaking out. Even today, I don't have to go into work because a light drizzle and gentle breeze are apparently too scary.

Clearly we don't need to invest money in our infrastructure. Come on, austerity!
monsoon season kills way more people here. 11 dead, just like aids.
America is fun ... cus it's wild like that!
a slight '1984' aura in any of those pictures of nyc's blackouts. awesome.
what the fuck Sandy! Never forget.
