Ahhh, I dont feel like posting a whole review so I'll just say that it was great. Meeting all the TA's, and partying with them on the floor definately made the night much more memorable. As for the music itself...well, typical Marco V style...nice and hard, but not too hard. It actually reminded me of J '00' Flemming's set a bit, hehe. The music was really nice and pounding, and really got you moving, Marco V - Mutalisk was my song of the night, definately. As for the club itself...not too bad...the lasers/lights are on par with Guvernments, but also better in a some cases. Design of the club tho...meh, nothing special. The "patio" was really....ghetto, lol.

Another big plus was hearing that good ol' Mark Oliver will be starting a residency every friday night, so thats a big plus in my book.

Thanks to LKD for covering me at the entrance, and a thanks for someone out there thats probably reading this. She knows who she is...

WOW
Oh ya
What a night!!!!!!! Absolutely a BLAST

I am so destroy...can't even write

Start my night again spinning and drinking with emaster, trancearmada, hordash (who came late), dude next time come earlier....

Get to Viva around 11, emaster and his gf went in (taking camera with them) me, trancearmada and hordash went to meet rest of the TA crew...We got in to Viva just pass 12 not packed at all, nice sound system, amazing laser show, run into Swamper (nice meeting you man),
Tatgirl with her coolest (partying) style, Stereo Princess (who knows how to have a good time), can-trance-boy (well seeing you there with your gf), Time2Burn, EKD, InfinityHigh, Endlesswave - casual TA crew (well patying with), Ziggy and Arek (can't hardly wait till entrance 2)....

Marco hit the decks at 2am or so, his first song got everyone jumping around. After that he just blew the shit out of the VIva with his amazing track selection and his abilities to put them in a journey, like PVD - for an angel, marco V - god, simulated, indicator, mauro piccoto - back to cali (push rmx), matanka - lost in dream (push rmx) and many more.

What can I say more: Viva needs to book more Trance djs there, so we can enjoy seeing them there and get treated there with respect.....

cheers

I knew it was gonna be good but not that good!

First of thanks to StereoPrincess and Ray (forget TA name) for giving me a ride back much appreciated. Its the one problem with Viva: really far away. And without a car its kind of hard to get to. Except the one problem is its worth going that far for it! The residents also tear it up.

Marco V: Well he lived up to his hype didn't he? Playing hard fast and uplifting is what its all about for me. Highlight of the set for me was when he played Back to Cali, The Oboe Song, Indicator and Cafe del Marco back to back. Was ready to drop after that. But the problem was Marco didn't let me take much of a break.

TA presence was just as awesome. Its seemed almost everyone who did not fit the regular clientel stereotype were affiliated with TA. As a result it was a very friendly atmosphere. And heck there were so many there that I cannot begin to name em all.

If we didn't chat you saw me as i'm 6"6 and was wearing a baby blue groove shirt. (yeah yeah the TABeacon )

LKD I bet your happy you sold your soul to go Tatgirl and Rich (Sober247) you guys rock! ANd of course stereoP

Props to Viva, and the TA crew that made this night possible!

Hmmm Did someone say Picotto?

What an awesome night!!

So what did you guys think of the fireworks??? They kind of blew away everyone in the booth that wasn't expecting them!

In respect to Marco's set, awesome and definitely cutting edge. So many tracks that I have never heard before but simply amazing.

Glad to hear all the peeps had a great time!

*yawn*

i just got back from work.. *sigh*

Wicked party, Marco V really know show to work a crowd! I guess a large part of the reason was because T.O has been 'starved' of tech trance....and the likes of Marco V's Genre. AS for viva, that club rocks, wicked system and sound. Not stuffy at all. The only downside was the annoying drops of liquid coming off the ceiling. I quote a TA - "I dont even want to know what they are"

My highlight: Saying good-bye to everyone, grabbing a drink and heading out the door, then TEARING back to the TA Spot to dance it up as soon as i heard Insomnia ; ...hehe, Firestarter and stereoprincess saw running back! I guess Marco V didnt want me to leave. I ended staying till he finished.

Was nice seeing everyone again, and meeting the new people too!

oh ya, I fucking loved the fireworks, especially the first one's when Marco V came up to the decks...that burning feeling on my neck and arms for 15-20 minutes was really nice. Not to mention all the stains on my shirt.

Fireworks were probably the only dissapointment of the night, expecially the second cannon the blew. You can fuckin' kill someone with that thing - it flew really low above our heads.

It was an amazing show lastnight, Marco V. laid down a great set of hard trance tracks with great skill. The setup at viva is wonderfull (Beware of the pyrotechnics that are pointed at the floor.. Who's the genius that designed that.)

Some of the TA's (DJ El Kay Dee, Time to Burn, Infinity High, Natalie?(tatgirl) and a few others) went in at 12:45.. I was in the lineup and noticed the El Kay Dee shirt and metup with them.

We were mostly at the back of the place in the bar until 2 when Marco Started his set and then we all moved up near the center. After that everyone pretty much moved around alot and spread out.

It was an amazing show with a great light/laser/snow show as well. Marco V. Played till about 4am and I left about 5:15am (Sorry I didn't say goodbye.. I was going for air then decieded to just leave)

It was a great time and I'll definatly be out at the next show.

The only tracks I knew were:

Underworld - Born Slippy (Just for a bit, I love that song still)
Marco V. G.O.D.D.

Thanks everyone.

ok

so the BIG BOY( ) has finally found time to review..lol

first up...please do not refer to me as EKD...El=L not E....

yes...the night was fuckin great..only i gotta say marco v ruined it for me when he signed on my sleeve and ruined my custom shirt ..IDIOT

but ill excuse him for the way he beautifully mixed Back to Cali into the oboe song...was shocking to hear him spin that in the first place... oh ya and highlight tune of the night was of course Cafe Del Marco..

for a birthday bash, i must say this was one good one for me.. ...first party which i actually was sleepy after.... hmmmm

WAs of course a pleasure meeting my homies from TA (in random order)- infinity_high, Endlesswave, Time2Burn, Firestarter,Flec, Bizz, Mavspire, Trancearmada, Arek, Ziggy, DJ Hordash, E*Master and TATGIRL(the autograph mistress)lol

Was also really nice to meet some more TAs...the ones i remember meeting are...Sober247,TranceNerd( Happy Birthday dude), Durafei,StereoPrincess, ummmmmmmmmmm.....cant remember names...but all u members who only post once or twice in a year that are reading this and only look but dont type and were there last night, u know that ive forgotten that i met u people cos ur names aint familiar to me..start posting..doesnt hurt anyone..

Wow..this was a better turnout in meeting fellow TAs as compared to when Gielen came to viva...maybe cos there wasnt a meetup time and spot this time..lol

oh well...ya im jonesing for somethin to do tonight but am broke...

ah well.....guess ill sit at home on my birthday

ummmmmmmm

Absolutely a great night...Arrived at 11:30 pm from waterloo and the place was deserted.. by 1am it was packed and going strong.. Marco V spun an amazing set. 3 hours of constant hard beats and energy.. I was truly impressed... I was the DD and had no problem with hitting the floor all night... Great party everyone..

Viva turned out to be an amazing place to party. Great sound, lights (multicouloured lasers were impressive) and the temperature stayed pretty cool... the place was packd but you still had room to play with the light sticks.. mwah...Great Air flow... Guvernment is always to hot and packed. What a great change...

Congrats go out to Viva for putting out an amazing party...I will definately hit up Viva again in the near future...

P.S. Lucky for me i was like 10 feet back from that blasted flash can... That looked pretty nasty... but i think marco brought you back into the spirit of things... Great great great party..

TV

As well, I saw BPM television was at the event doing one of there specials... so if you have digital cable keep you eye out for that show..

Posted by Bizz on Sep-14-2002 23:28:

damn..
came a little late (about 10 mins before marco's set) and only got to meet up again with about 50-75% of TAs.. missed trancearmada's group photos while I finished drinks in the chill out area..

amazing set.. love the unique tek style from Marco V.. downside was that club cleanliness a little off that night (especially since miscellaneous liquids were falling on my head and 4-5 items were always sticking to my shoes)

greets to all the TAs over there, and glad to see everyone had a hell of a time (maybe with the exception of EKD.. *cough* LKD.. whose night was ruined by Marco V himself, haha)

While Swamper hangs out VIP style in the back! Lucky dude!

Anyways, I had a great time but I was planned to have a few drinks instead of doing anything else but that ended up costing me an arm and a leg. Plus, Ray went to drive a friend home and after making sure with one of the bouncers that it was OK to come back in after, when he did return to pick me up they MADE HIM PAY another 25 dollars to get back in, just to find me and leave!! What a rip off and a bunch of bullshit, I mean he even had the stamp on his hand from the licenced area. That made me so mad that I don't think I'm going to go back there again, unless I get a free pass next time or a few free drinks ***hint, hint VIVA*** not like they care, they got their money and there will always be peeps willing to pay.
The music was BANGING. I love those kind of tunes. I really wanted to hear Marco V spin and I finally got to hear it. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and I hope to see you all again. You don't have to thank us Time2burn, it was no big deal. Tatgirl, it was fun to see another female face around. LKD, I saw when he signed your shirt, didn't you ask him for a signature?? I don't think DJs go around just signing everything.

Marco V last night was amazing !

I had an amazing time, but it wasnt as packed i thoguht it would have been. Too bad i didnt get to meet any of you TA's last night, but from some of the pictures i saw, i recognize some of the people in them. Some of you might have seen me and my buddy, i was wearing a white t-shirt and white adidas pants.
i didnt even think i would have been able to go to Viva, because my friends cancelled on me at the last minute. But as soon as i got home my older bro wanted to go, so i ended up going with him and one of my other friends. Im glad i ended up going.

Can't wait for the next party !

Hey guys-
I have to say- I had a blast last nite (and yes, I was 'sober', since that yellow star was bunk). Once again, I was high on the the good company I was surrounded by. I made it for the TA meetup in the parking lot- it was nice to hang with a group of TA's without having to yell over music & struggle to make out faces in a dark, smokey room. I think I managed to meet every TA there.

I'm glad my outfit and light toy brought happiness to many. (I did look maaahhhhh- velous, didn't i? ). Would u believe I changed into that outfit at my grandparent's after Sabbath dinner? They were amused with the outfit... up until the hair went on.

Hartec played a banging hard set, 99% of which I'd never heard before. Marco- really enjoyed it, tho he threw me off in the beginning when he dropped that mix of "Love You More" by Sunscreem. I really wasn't expecting to hear something like that in his set. Heard a lot of new stuff, along with some familiar tunes. Some highlights were "Back to Cali", "GODD", "Simulated", "For an Angel", "Insomnia". Too bad everyone split when Marco was over. Peter Ivals played a wicked set too. Knew a lot of the tracks he was playing, and he threw done some mix of "Thriller" by M. Jackson! Sober24-7 (Rich) & I were the last TA's in the joint. We shut that place down!

I'll drop my film off tomorrow, & will get to a scanner this week. Marco was swarmed with fans after the set. He was very gracious to sign all the autographs & pose for pics. He was shocked to hear I had seen him at Innercity & Q-ontact over NYE weekend in Amsterdam. He signed my Marco V cd (live from Innercity 2000).

As for Viva- really liked the club- AMAZING resident DJ's (breath of fresh air in this town), great lights & sound, free parking, no hassle from bouncers, not a meat-market, & no Gino's. Just a little hot in there.

I have to say, the Toronto TA's are the BEST people. Hanging with you guys always makes my evening. A real good bunch of people.
Thanks for the shot, Az. Stereoprincess & I once again brought some estrogen to our crew . Finally got to meet InfinityHigh! (you should smile more) Swamper-you da man! Itikia- thanks for bringing in the talent, but missed you once again- try replying to PM's, why don't you? Expecting a lashing from Hordash about my cigarettes.... El Kay-D- didn't u ASK marco to sign your shirt? I'm confused as to how he screwed it up. Everyone else- it was a pleasure!
-Nathalie

Well I had a wicked time.

Props to all the TA's I met up with, and happy birthday to you too LKD..

I have about 60-80 pics from last night, which I'll put online shortly. Mostly laser/crowd shots... They're not all great, but I'll put em all up so you can pick and choose.

I actually have that firework (the one that flew over the crowd (actually, it was suspended by a string)) on video, so I'll put that video up too.

Marco V was great, and Hartek (probably spelt wrong) played some seriously good trance just before Marco came on.

I danced my ass off (or more like my foot). I had to keep stopping, cuz my damn foot was throbbing, but it was worth it..

Again, Viva proved to be a great club. I travelled to just about every corner of the club last night, taking pictures, and the sound was spectacular EVERYWHERE! Now that's good design. Anyone who was there know's how good the lighting and laser system is, and anyone who hasn't been, just check out my pics. (I'll post em soon.)
