ASOT website leaked it like like they leaked the fact that it would be at Ultra a month back. Here's the LINK

Another thing. WTF PVD? I thought he no longer plays Trance? Kind of weird that he would agree to play at an event with the title trance in it. I guess he realized what most of us do at this point. ASOT no longer plays Trance, so it fits him nicely.

Hell the lineup is awful.

Dash Berlin - Dashups galore
Cosmic Gate - Oh please, they've gone commercial
ATB - Need I say more?
PVD - Just confused
A&B - Rebranded themselves to get rid of TATW
Tritonal - Trouse
Norin & Rad - Interesting booking
W&W -
Ferry - Hit or Miss, mostly miss
Armin - Same as Ferry

Worst of all! Ultra on Sunday goes from 12PM-11PM, so 11 acts which means 1 hour slot for each. Not worth it at all. I'd have to be pretty convinced by previous ASOT 600 broadcasts to even think about going.

The truly sad part is with this I'm doubting Markus will be doing any sets at Space since now he is bound to the terms and conditions by UMF. So he will play the shitty megaclubs instead...

Well think about this year, they had Richie Hawtin play Friday evening at Ultra and then he had his party later that night at Space. It could still happen...

Corsten played UMF/ASOT last year, and still played @ Space twice. And as stated already Hawtin is another example. So Markus could still play there, although some have said that will not happen again for unrelated reasons. My real concern is with A&B, as they need to do an Anjuna Beats party at a club or Ice Palace. Whatever you may think about them as DJs, that was always one of the best trance parties of WMC each year ...

Doubt it since last year their party was affiliated with Ultra at Bayfront on Thursday, and they didn't have the Anjuna party.

shit ASOT lineup

Posted by ucforange on Dec-23-2012 00:02:

Yeah it's going to be an abomination. No thanks.

Posted by civicstyle on Dec-23-2012 21:44:

I have tickets so will be there to see A&B, Markus, PvD, and Ferry. As far as the rest goes...

Posted by Rissinite on Dec-23-2012 23:42:

Do people still really listen to Trance?

Posted by Juan Paulino on Dec-24-2012 00:46:

Trance is done for and PVD in a asot booking would be pretty dope back then but now yeah its kinda confusing.

Posted by diabloargentino on Dec-24-2012 00:59:

there are some decent newcomers in trance that are bumping some good stuff (arctic moon, bryan kearny, sneijder, etc). a lot of 138/140 stuff.

but it's all about the techno now

there's a trance party at dream that tuesday.. umm

sied van riel, aly & fila, GO.. i can't find the link/flyer now though.

Last year's Global Connection party at Dream?

If the artist were in their prime then it would be a stellar night but it sucks that they only get 1 hour each

Well, we know the following will happen:

Ca$h Brlin - will play nothing but those chessEDM dashups.
ATB - will open up with the same song (Ecstasy) that he has been opening for the better part of 10 years now.
Armin - will do at least 12 jesus poses during his set.
Tritonal - will have more energy behind the decks than the entire crowd on the dancefloor.
Ferry - will find a way to play Made of Love and/or Beautiful somewhere in his 1 hour set.
Markus - will hopefully do some unicorn-slaying for his hour set.

Cosmic Gate - will play their cheesEDM hits with that vocalist who needs a new haircut.

I went to that party last year and it was LAME! There will be no trance for me this year. I made taht mistake once....

Some parties That I will be attending the same as last year will be the Hernan, Guy J, Digweed party Thursday at Cameo and Friday at Mynt Hernan and Warren B2B. Id like to go on a boat cruise this year aswell, since i missed out on one last year. Chus and Ceballos at surfcomber was fun too

I went to the Global Connection @ Dream 2 years in a row and it was nothing but pure awesome trance! The first year I went to see mainly Aly & Fila because I'm a huge fan and listener of Future Sound of Egypt but only to find out that only Fila would be present since Aly has issues with his ears. Fila did not disappoint and tore it up and I don't know if I was high from his set but his BPMs kept getting faster progressively as the night went on. I was really impressed by his set and energy. And then Ronski Speed came on afterwards and he kept the energy going by throwing down a sick hard banging set! I honestly did not know what to expect from him since I didn't even realize he spins live. I went nuts when he dropped Agulo feat David Berkeley - Fire Sign (Suncatcher remix) My favorite track of the year! At the end of the night i got to meet both of these undoubtedly talented DJs which totally made my week. This was by far the best trance show I've ever attended during WMC! So of course I returned the following year. This time no Ronski Speed though so I was a little disappointed but still got to see Fila. So I hope they bring him back next year because I would love to see him again.

I don't care what anyone says. Trance is not dying! I know a lot of the old trance DJs nowadays have transitioned to playing more trouse, techno, electro, or a fusion of the 3 which is what the public wants I assume. To see some of my old favs like Ferry, PVD, Tiesto, and even AVB (although I haven't seen AVB live in over a year) succumb to this is truly painful for me to endure. I guess I will no longer be attending their shows. I will forever be a trance addict for life! There are a lot of talented European trance DJs who don't get a lot of exposure in the states that continue to play and produce great uplifting high energy trance tracks. A few I would love to see are Simon Patterson aka Dogzilla, Angel Ace, Soundlift, Lazarus, Above The Clouds, Space Garden, Ronny K, New World, Peet B, and The Noble Six. If you're not familiar with these guys I recommend checking some of their stuff out ASAP. Let's keep trance ALIVE!!!

Yeah, definitely down for the Bedrock party at Cameo if that happens again. Went in 2011 and it was really good. Digweed played a nice 4 hour set and played great house music of all kinds. Was epic to see him in his "element."

Only trance I'm doing the entire weekend is the yacht party. Wouldn't mind seeing some good techno/tech-house at Treehouse -- I'd imagine there will be many sick label parties all week there. Less than 3 months away already, can't believe it's almost here again.

It most certainly is dying. The only time you can see GOOD trance music is during WMC and even some of those shows suck ass. Who the hell wants to party at Euforia or Mekka? That's what the trance scene is reduced to -- Space only does so much trance during that weekend. And Cosmic Gate or Above and Beyond or somebody like that playing at Story or LIV aren't the kind of shows that I'm talking about.

You can see great house/techno/tech-house/deep house any weekend of the year in Miami -- how often can you see a good trance show?

Posted by snatonsb on Dec-29-2012 22:08:

I used to be all for trance, sad to say it sucks lol and I will no longer be attending any trance events.

Posted by Juan Paulino on Dec-30-2012 00:55:

JOC is still one of those djs that can still throw it down. I'm talkin about 140 bpm high octane

Posted by Faceplant on Dec-30-2012 02:28:

As for trance, I agree it sucks but I checked schulz at space for a few hr of his marathon set and it was real good.

this year....::::::Sunday school please god!!!!!!!

there was a bad ass party last year at the lame club right next to space, can't remember the name. It went from midnight sat to sunday noon.

guy gerber
ellen alien
carl craig

those are just a few I remember but it was nothing but great dj's spinning all night, and i think i paid 30 bucks for tickets. I guess a way lamer sunday school but i had a blast.

looking forward to treehouse and pickle parties this year, gonna keep it to the non dress to impress venues this year.

Posted by element-y on Dec-30-2012 03:43:

yea for trance to sell it has to be booked at the right clubs - where its the club that sells if the artist isnt top 10.

trance promoters in miami should join together, book mansion or cameo, etc. and split profits on percentages. a weekday trance party at some club out of the way will not sell.
