im over white wonderland...are there any tickets left for markus?

All the fluffy music will be at white wonderland, electro basslines all night. Markus extended set at avalon is going to get so dirty, making the trip from boston, passed up on armin myself .

The last tier at $95, medium sellout risk.

True, but Avalon will be such a cluster-eff it wont be that fun imo. It wont be the music... It'll be the balls to the walls bs stuffed like sardines crowd for NYE because its Markus.

Yikes.. Thanks for the heads up. That's something I'm trying to avoid on NYE. I like having my own little space to enjoy.

I like the concept of having two stages and getting some what both types of music... Especially being NYE and doing something different then going to a club. Would have the Marriot right next door so that's not too bad since I'll probably be drunk and wouldn't want to deal with a cab.

But..

Just found out that Jay-z/Cold Play are having a NYE party at the Barclays Arena.. So now its between those two. Bound to be a hell of a show. $180 per ticket.

it will be a CF until around 3-4 AM, then it opens up a bit when the music starts getting fun.
i also think they will still control the dance floor the same way they always do, so it's not TOO crowded, then again on NYE they might be a bit more daring since the fire marshall will probably be very busy that night.

I don't like turning you away form the event. I'd be there, but I can't stand what Avalon has become with its overselling night. It's expected in the industry on regular nights now, so I can only imagine the craziness of NYE there.

That being said, I'm going to WW to hang with friends and complete a year long objective.

was markus show in august a cluster fuck inside, cause i had plenty of room all night, if you think thats packed come to his shows at pacha where you can't move an inch. i know nye will be worst because of the night, but if its only packed a little more than august im fine with it.

it's not as bad as they make it seem to be. they close off the dance floor for a reason, so it's not unbearably packed.

is it a CF cuz it's NYE? or cuz of Markus? cuz i saw Markus earlier this year and there was plenty of room to dance in the front of the dancefloor.. digweed 2 years ago for NYE was plenty of room too...

well it depends how you define Clusterf!!K , if you want to shuffle you may need 40 sq ft lol but its enough room to dance at avalon unlike places like sutra in OC

Posted by ISOS4 on Dec-17-2012 17:03:

yeah cause i was there in august and it was amazing, plenty of room but still the crowd jumping. I like how they shut off the dance floor, definitely keeps it from being ridiculous, im obviously expecting it to be more packed for NYE but if its only a little worst ill be more then excited. And good point on Sutra, that place is packed to the fullest when i was there just for Cosmic Gate last years Halloween weekend.

so does that mean Darin and Bingo Players are doing the countdown? or is Tritonal doing the countdown?

Posted by david.sound on Dec-28-2012 06:49:

tritonal probably ;/ i know it's unfortunate. the first thing i get to hear on 2013 is shit. i hope darin kicks them off early.

Looking forward to this event, and seeing my buds A&B play again! Hopefully Darin plays a set similar to his one before JOC and Aly/Fila...very good warm up set IMO (almost jaytech sound to me) and then some pretty trance tracks prior to the headliners! Have fun and be safe all!

Beautiful night last night! Parking was very easy at the Marriot and an easy walk across path to the convention center, which is beautuful inside and out! Got my credentials (thank you Insomniac/A&B) and entry was a total breeze. Although White was not "mandatory" 95% of people where in ALL white and there some pretty amazing costumes. It sure helped that it was 21+ as the maturity level and crowd overall was manageable. Not many pushers and shovers as I was front left all night. I missed Dash Berlin, but got there for Ferry's entire set. I had not seen Ferry in 3 years and he did not disappoint. He played many bangers/festival tracks but also some trance tracks, especially towards the end of his set. The original mix of "beautiful" was fun and he ended with "boombox" wow! Avicii had the largest pull and people seemed to be really enjoying his set. Although not my type of sound, I found myself in the mix as the vibe was good. Tritonal played some really heavy tracks, Im used to their trance sound but never the less, it was a fun set to dance to. They are very energetic and had some pretty trance tracks thrown in. Darin's sound is growing on me, I really enjoyed his set, sounds a lot like anjunadeep! just my opinion. The countdown was somewhat lackluster, as Tritonal stopped as the countdown began. There was no buildup to the countdown, just all of a sudden, 10-9-8...Above and Beyond came on right at 12;30 and played thier beautiful music. I was impressed with their set for a massive event. These guys never disappoint. I spoke with their light technician after the gig and he said A&B barely made it there in time(down from POP in SF), so we were lucky. Norin and Rads new track (not sure of name yet) was a dancefloor destroyer and the crowd reacted very well to the song (A&B typed that the track was from SoCal N&R) It seemed like most people stayed until the end and the place was still vibrant at 2:00 PM.
Pros- The lighting was ok
entry was easy
beautiful new convention center
free water refills
easy lines for restrooms
plenty of place to dance
music was amazing
energy was good
VIP area was wide open and leveled above crowd for good viewing
21+ event made it for a smooth night

Cons- music was very bass heavy
Being up front tore my ears even with earplugs (I guess to be expected)
Countdown was not great
took over an hr to get out of parking lot

Overall, way more pros than cons, really enjoyed the event and very thankful to A&B for their treatment. I will attend WW next year if it similar. Still on a high from event
