Second time the film has been referenced, today, and I must have seen it over twenty times. It was either that or a reference to crack repair on an aluminum engine block.

Maybe I'm being dense because I've just woke up, but I can't see any reference there? Unless you mean "Not with a bang, but a whimper", which is actually from TS Eliot's poem The Hollow Men.

It is but I thought the allusion to the movie was implicit given the thread topic being "apocalyptic" in nature.
