I remember how I felt when we went to, I think it was 5 different doctors, maybe 6, and they all said "We can't do anything for neuropathy, do you want a narcotic?" Ron said "No way". Thank God. Those things are addictive.
I had turned on some Christmas music. Ron liked that. He got around to the point where he wanted to open presents. We took turns. He got lots of tasty snacks and a gift card. I got various fun items. The cats even got some presents.
Later on, I'll connect my cell phone to the computer and upload a few photos of Baby Girl. She's awfully cute.
Ron feels pretty bad, so we're going to save the Christmas day pizza for tomorrow or another night. We have to eat it by the 29th.
I'd like to get another pizza for New Year's, but that means going to Walmart. Yike. I know it will be crazy for the next couple days and I'd really like to avoid that.

I am transabled. I have Body Integrity Identity Disorder BIID. Since the age of 3 or 4, Ive needed to be paralysed from the waist down. This wont come as any great surprise if youve been reading this site for any length of time. Occasionaly, I think of being a double leg amputee.

I have NO DESIRE to be an AB WHATSOEVER.
Over and out.
Which rock have you overturned, Ted?

The more I think about it, the more convinced I become that my generation of Otherkin are going to rise up as the worlds next diplomats, ambassadors, and leaders.
Think about the amazing power we possess. As a cat, I understand the needs of the feline community more than any other human can. We have the opportunity to be liaisons between the animal kingdom and human society.
We already know that we are not going to be able to continue on this path of unsustainable living. We have to start focusing on our relationship to the environment and the ecosystems of the rest of the earths creatures.
Otherkin are the only people who can actively speak on behalf of these populations. We are part of their collective conscious. We are connected to our species the way an artery is to the heart. The only way the world will ever achieve peaceful coexistence, balance, and eco-responsibility is through the guidance of Otherkin.
People may laugh at us now, but what they dont realize is that we hold the key to the survival of our planet. They need us.
One day theyll see. One day they will be begging us for our wisdom. Just you wait.
I have the urge to groom myself like a cat, but Ill usually restrain unless Im by myself. I dont have fur, but just the sensation of cleaning myself like a cat is comforting. It lets me escape into my cat head.
I actually meow a lot, just in normal conversation. My family is used to it. If I dont meow all the time, I get this terrible lump in my throat that wont go away until I meow it out. Meowing eases my anxiety and keeps me feeling level-headed.
Well my parents try really hard to use my pronouns with me, but theyre naturally insensitive (being so entrenched in human society) so they most often forget. I always correct them though.
No, I hate the feel of shoes. I always go barefoot.
My parents allow me to live at home and they take care of me. Since Im a cat, its very hard for me to hold a normal job or go to school, so they accommodate my needs. Theyre not very accepting of my spirit sister though - so we get into fights a lot when she comes home with me. I just told her to come up to my bedroom window from now on.
Otherkin are just as much trans as transgendered, transethnic, transbodied, and transaged people. I am not invalidating their struggles, however its wrong to simplify my identity as an Otherkin by refusing to accept the fact that we too, are in the wrong bodies.
If will not be bullied into hiding what I really am. I am a trans-specied person. I experience the same hardship of body dysphoria and identity confusion as transgendered people do. Just because Otherkin have not been a widely sought out social justice cause doesnt mean that we dont have every right to assert ourselves with the language that we feel fits us the most.
Love has been a very tricky road for me. Living in a human body has made being human an integral part of my identity. Therefore I feel the same desire for love and affection that other humans do. However, at the end of the day, my spirit will always be a cat. As a cat, I crave a type of companionship that is much different than that of human romantic relationships. My cat spirit needs to belong to a pack. An unbreakable, unspoken bond between a group of felines. We dont fall in love with one other cat, rather we show our love through our loyalty and dedication to the group. So no, I have never felt romantic feelings towards a cat. The type of love that I feel towards cats is deep, unwavering understanding and acceptance. It is a sisterly love.
As a human I am capable of experiencing the same lust and sexual desire for other humans that is a component of our biology. However being demisexual, I must fall in love before these feelings can develop. Falling in love with a human is complicated because there will always be a part of me that they will never understand. It hasnt happened for me yet, but I am open to it if it presents itself.
I might be a demonkin?
Ive always had a special connection to the spiritual realm, especially in regards to demonic and malevolent entities. Im naturally drawn towards their energy but I abstain per the counsel of my coven elders.
However Im very interested in demonkin. I didnt even know they existed until I came to Tumblr. Im starting to question whether I may have a demonic identity as a part of my plurality.
It would explain my affinity for darkness, black magic, and ability to connect with spiritual forces. Its like Im having a second awakening.
Demonkin, how did you discover your demonic identities? Im dying to find out if I have a secret demon inside of me that Ive been suppressing. I wouldnt be surprised at all.
I need help and you are the only expert I know. So I know that I'm not human, just like you, the way society views my body is wrong. However, I am also not any animal that I know about. I think I am an animal or maybe even an alien actually. Its hard to describe what I look like without rambling incoherently. The thing is, the animal I look like slightly resembles a human. But its not a human. Am I otherkin?
You may be. I didnt know what kin type I was until later in my life. It was when I met my spirit sister that I had my awakening. You should be patient and let your kin reveal itself to you in its own time. You may not be spiritually and emotionally ready at this point in your life. Dont go out seeking your identity, let it come to you. If you are open and willing, you will find the answers you seek.
Hello my lovelies!
Ive been on a sabbatical (my coven does a wilderness retreat every year), but I have finally returned!
While I was on my trip, I had the most amazing experiences as a wildcat. My knees are calloused and scarred from all the time I spent crawling on the ground. My hair is matted and unshaven and boy was it was worth it.
Otherkin, I urge you to spend time in your kin types natural habitat. It is so healing to be able to get away from human society and its constraints. It feels like being let out of your cage, finally free to roam as nature intended. I ate grass and sharpened my nails on tree bark. I frolicked in meadows and basked in the light of the full moon. My eyesight grew stronger and my reflexes faster. Once youre out in the wild, all of your kin types knowledge comes pouring back and it takes over. You become the feral beast you were born to be.
I howled until my voice grew hoarse. Then I howled some more. Cries of pure instinctual power that transcended my physical limitations. It was the first time I was able to connect so strongly with my kin type. It cleared all the confusion and doubt in my mind.
Have any of you ever had the opportunity to be in the wilderness like that? Have you ever tried living as your kin type even with your human body?
I may have understated my condition by labeling it sensitive eyes. What I have is a severe photoallergy that is extremely debilitating in my day to day life. I cannot ever be in direct sunlight for longer than a couple of minutes before I begin to break out in a rash. I cant even open my eyes. Therefore, Im confined to the indoors during the daylight hours. I rely on the earths energy to sustain me, so I have to spend nighttime hours almost exclusively outside. I have learned to harness the moonlight for my Wiccan practices, but it will never be a replacement for the power of the sun. My disability is just as serious as any other and I dont appreciate being questioned on it as if I am some type of fraud.
I want to dress up as Pocahontas for Halloween, but Im not Native American.
Am I still committing cultural appropriation if Im a cat? Cats dont have nationalities because we do not have citizen rights in any country.
So Im a 19 year old MAAB trans* person who is currently enrolled in university: Im majoring in Political Science with a focus on American politics; and Im minoring in Womens & Gender studies (because its only offered as a minor) and War, Peace, and Terrorism. My aspirations are to hopefully become an elected official, career activist, or maybe even a porn star. As for my hobbies Im active on reddit and tumblr, I am one hell of a video game player, and Im engaged in several feminist and LGBTA clubs on my campus. And I love piercings and tattoos- I have 10 and 2 respectively.
I think thats enough about me for now (enough to make Amy happy. :P); but if any of you are curious to know more, feel free to take a gander at my blog.
So in conclusion I hope with the combination of Amy and I, well be able to bring you a better experience from the blog you know and love, Dear Cis People.
Thank you, and gnite (or gmorning if its around that time for you
I used to like sneezing when I was a kid. How stupid is that? For some reason there was an element of pleasure for me in the tell-tale nose tingle, the slightly watery eyes and then massive explosion, that made me look forward to it all.
It's all different now of course. I relish my daily quota of sneezes like it's a session of electric shock therapy. It's damned annoying, the nasal irritation, the runny nose, the streaming eyes, the sniffiness, the looking like you're having an epiphany moment when instead you're staring up up at the light bulb for the last 20 minutes to coax the bugger out.
I think it was developing hay fever and allergies in my early teens that did it for me; not only did I get an itch in my nose, I would actually get one inside my head, deep in my ear canal or down the back of my throat where I'd never be able to scratch it. How infuriating is an itch you can't scratch? I often woke up in the middle of the night with this maddening, torturous tickle somewhere deep in my brain and I sooooo wanted to saw off part of my head to allow me get inside with a toothbrush like in the Reach ads and scrub it all away. And all the while I'm sneezing sneezing sneezing and swallowing repeatedly as it was the closest I could get to scratching the itch in my throat that no man could ever scratch. It nearly drove me loopy.
Sneezing styles vary of course. I favour pitching mine somewhere beyond reserved but well short of a lion's roar. My grandfather was on the other hand not so much unique in style but was rather prolific. He would always sneeze uncontrollably after drinking whiskey so every Christmas in our house we'd all sit around watching him and waiting for the show to begin. His record was set in 1992 when he sneezed 27 times in succession, no word of a lie, I was there. Counting. He said "excuse me" after about the first five but then just abandoned all pretence of manners and was soon going "Achooooooo ya fuckin' bastard ya" before pausing and delivering the next one "Achooooooahhhh fuck it anyway" and then "Achoooooo Jasus Christ whaddefuckin bastard" and so on. The one that cracked us up was "Achoooooothefuckdoyouthinkyouare for fucks sake."
That was a great Christmas.
Timid people choke their sneezes, usually in public places, but not my Dad. My Dad bellows out his sneezes no matter where he is. If you're not used to it he'd frighten the shit out of you. I was on the phone to a girlfriend once in a room at one end of the house and my Dad sneezed downstairs and she could still hear it. "What was that?" she asked. "The dog barking," I said, mortified, hoping she knew of a dog that sounded like a volcano erupting when it barked. There were other times when I looked at Hurricanes on the news and wondered did one of my Dad's sneezes inadvertently contribute to climate change.
Then there was the lad at work who absolutely put everything he had into his sneezes. He'd shatter the silence of the workplace about five times a day with these abrasive interjections and everyone would look over at him and shake their heads and mutter. His sneezes made a very deliberate high-pitched whoop noise, it was extremely distracting. I asked him about it one day and he told me that he sneezed like that ever since the day he was in school and he tried in vain to hold back a sneeze and ended up blowing snot all over his hands. He lived in fear of a repeat from then on. Everyone in the office understood straight away and let him get on with it, we'd all been there.
Anyway, I hate sneezing now. They say it's one tenth of an orgasm or something but I neither feel or look at all sexy while sneezing and grandad didn't seem particularly turned on back in 1992 either, and he'd just had 2.7 orgasms. Which was some going for a man of 83 who, now that I think of it, hated whiskey. Hmmmm.
