Probably that. Either way I can't remember what he's on about. That stuff went on about 5 years ago.

i cried when audiogalaxy went down.

I came here to learn more about trance and track down a few releases. None of my friends at the time were knowledgeable at all about it so I knew it was up to me to learn myself. Made the mistake to ask TA's where I could dl tracks and got the whole "We don't support file sharing schtick." Didn't feel like posting after that but still lurked around. Discovered Banco de Gaia, PPK, Solid Globe and Slacker in my early years then started listening to asot. That phase ended in a couple more years though.

I think I ended up here because Audio Galaxy went down and I started coming for the free dj sets and tracks... stayed for the lolz...

TA Was always in the results search from the early days of google and even yahoo as well....looking for tracks (livesets OMG)....I remember trying to post in the c0r at the time (2003-2004) but it was moving so fast, and I didn't know anyone none of it really made sense to me...so I just stuck to MD.

Once 2005 rolled around then I really started getting more into the c0r.

i just noticed that on the 10th it was 10 years ago i registered. didn't make a big deal out of it. don't even think i posted on that day either.

how i found out about the site? through a friend that had downloaded sets and tracks from the frontpage. this was around 2001-2002. was without a computer and intarwebs for almost a full year because i was broke but i wasn't to let my parents buy me a computer, for some stupid reason.

used the schools computers and public computers at and the likes for that time and used to lurk tranceaddict and i didn't register for a long time. my first post was in the now dead (or not showing any points of substantial life) swedish sub-forum.

quote:

jag diggar detta set, bra låtar, bra transitions, allt som allt bra,
har en fråga, kan du göra en cue-fil, för jag ska spela in grejen på min md,
och jag är en sån där snubbe som gillar att gå fram & tillbaks med låtarna...

basically a comment on some guys recorded set and a request for a cue-sheet because i was to record it to my minidisc. appearently i was a type of persons that liked to skip ahead and go back in sets.

my mind boggles at that last sentance because i don't even remember EVER being like that. not even in my worst a.d.d.-phases

edit: the tracklist for that set.
quote:
01. Armin Van Buuren - Yet another day (Armin´s Dub)
02. Jan Johnston - Calling your name (N&F Remix)
03. Cygnus X - Positron (Marco V Remix)
04. Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown (G&M Project Remix)
05. Chicane - Love On The Run (Blank & Jones Dub)
06. Midway - Kung Fu
07. Marcel Woods - Serenity (Techtrance Remix)
08. Armani & Ghost - Airport (Essential DJ Team Mix)

huh. apart for kung fu, i don't really like those tracks. i still like yet another day but mostly hiver & hammer's remix. i will not listen to any version of calling your name with the vocal included ever again. marco v's remix of positron is mediocre. g&m project of urban shakedown is mediocre. fuck blank & jones. serenity is ok but just that. that remix of airport was fun for a week or so but then bleh.

what a fucking walk down memory lane eh? i'm certainly not planning to visit it again anytime soon.

I came here for the tracks and dj sets, and didn't register until about 2 years after my first visit. I did a lot of lurking though. My first posts were based around how I didn't understand how people could call the new stuff (anno 03') bland and generic. I'm very glad my ears opened.

yeah lol. i was also a lurker for a while. i think i finally signed up trying to get a track ID hehe

I really think one of your posts was the first one I ever read on TA, Jason.

When I first registered, Eric flamed me in a thread about going commando, lol. I seem to remember something about him talking about wearing long johns under his jeans for work?

I also came in here like some noob 22 year old attention whore, posting my dirty poem, lol.

I def remember some faggy plur like posts, too.

People accused me of being a lurker because of how I came in here - I didn't even know what that meant. I literally just started using the internet heavily for the first time that same year, haha.

I found this site through my sister, who knew Del from online somehow. Probably hot or not, lolol.

A friend told me about this site. Didn't sign up to the forums until later when I found a track posted that I wanted to comment on. And the rest is history, I guess.

I can't remember how I got here, must have been by searching, but think I registered once before and forgot the password and switched the internet provider.

Got back into DJing after a 5 year hiatus and went looking for Toronto-based boards where I could post mixes and talk shop. Used to be much more active on Tribe.ca, but the majority of the members on that board stopped talking about music and turned into their parents. No threads about mortgages, gas mileage and getting less groceries for your money these days = win.

i think there are many people like you who've just kinda woken up here, not knowing what transpired the night before, was offered a line of coke after getting rid of what appeared to be eye boogers, then just never left.

blank and jones - dj culture (kaycee mix )

it's blank and jones that actually got me into trance.. i remember it quite well.. i downloaded the nightfly on my 14.4 modem 8 megabytes. it took forever. but it was great.

Friend told me about it in 2004. Posted a few times about Armin / ASOT. Didn't become a regular until I got into music production. Then posted practically every day until, I don't know, maybe a year ago.
