hey dawn i just got the sept mix today and...well wow...its nice. i havent gotten a changce to listen to the whole set all the way through but from what ive heard its nice. quite refreshing, i hear alot of sets and think to myself "this would be bangin if it were a little faster" your sept mix fills that void with some nice fast bangin' tracks. while i cant say i like ALL the tracks, most of them are good, some great. as always a great job on the mixing.

thankyou thankyou keep up the good work
cant wait till the oct mix

Dj Dawn, fab mix man

There are bound to be people with different taste, atleast someone had the balls to show you it huh ?

Anyway, personally, i like all trance from prog to monotonic stomping tunes! But ive always had my love for melodies, good to see that youre standing up and not changing from doing what youve been doing since 1994 ;-D

Great mixing, great tracks(For my taste atleast), youre bound to be big.

I did also notice that weird transition in the end as sand leaper, did the sun suddenly come back up or what ? ;-D

looking forward to ur mixes man always ;-D

cheers,

errr....that remix is fake? (played it from mp3, only used the first minute as an intro)
What is it then?

E Nomine is rather (really) old. But nice

Dancing Dude

First time I hav d/l one of your sets, I'll let you know what I think when I have listened to it all fully Thanks for sharing it

Posted by verminator on Sep-27-2002 19:06:

heh
forgot to edit my post with comments

only gonna post a more general veiw on it

the mix itself was ok for me

bpm was better than in the other mixes (yes, im also a bpm junkie as jp)
the mixing is very good as always, but the one thing that dissapointed me this time was the trackselection

not as hard as i was used to, and i think some of the songs might became a bit "too cheesy" for me,imo. (for ME) hehe
dont really know which ones, as i havent downloaded the cue file yet hehe, not so important anyways

im not saying that they are commercial, but in some way i felt like that they weren't my thing as lots of other songs in ur previous mixes.

so finally, i'd like to say that you should keep this up, as i always dl ur mixes (i find it quite interesting to listen to "bedroom" dj's (not so famous yet), even though you are a step further than that hehe)

so dont let this stop you (i know it wont either)

thumbs up

*waiting for the next mix*

greets!

Could this be my first post ever on TA? I've had postings on DI for a year now....

Anyhow, way to go Dawn!! September is excellent, excellent, excellent. Everybody has their own tastes, but this mix is right up my alley. Great track selection, great mixing, great bangin' and fast bpm... I love it! I have loved every one of your mixes, but thought July 2002 fell a bit short of your previous ones, but Sept is right back up there!

Keep up the great work, and when the heck are you coming to Los Angeles?

Posted by Eugene on Sep-28-2002 23:11:

Dawn, I've been listening to this mix for the last couple of days!

I can say that in terms of your recent mixes, it's definitely one of the best. But I like the first half much better than the second one. I think the tracks in the second half are a little formulaic.

Here are my favorite tracks:

04. DJ Dean - Play It Hard (Club Mix)
06. 4 Strings - Diving (Cosmic Gate Mix)
07. E Nomine - E Nomine (Cosmic Gate Mix)
08. Wavescope - The Spirit (Wavetraxx Mix)
09. Benicio - Don't Explain (Hard Edit)
10. The Thrillseekers - Dreaming Of You (Flutlicht Mix)
12. Apollo - Dance (Extended Mix)
13. Dave Joy - Second Chase (Alphazone Mix)

First I'm gonna teach Dawn how we party here in Holland

Posted by Cyrax on Sep-29-2002 09:10:

Hey dawn ...

nice mix as usual ... gets the empty spot in my car-cd-changer ... one remark tough ...

could it be you fucked up the cue-file ????

Right now i'm @ 45:00, and i'm hearing 'diving' LOUD AND CLEAR. The cue says it should be 'distorted reality'.
Your Cue also says track 5 should be 'diving', when i hear nothing of that sort ... or is my winamp just fucked ???

cheerz

Posted by djdawn on Sep-30-2002 16:19:

at 45:00 is definitely "Distorted Reality". Diving is at 11:50.

UPDATE!

I had to take the mix off my site, but there is a mirror here:

http://djdawn.servemp3.com

Enjoy!

farkin wicked shit dawn!!!

its probably quite fitting that it took me so long to give you some feedback because this thread could use a good *bump* =)

your mixing is tight as usuall and theres a few outstanding tracks that make my brain melt!!! =)

I was going to paste what tracks i thought were cool but looked at the thread and see that Eugene is right on the money! =)

I shop every week all over the joint for records but theres always a quite a few on your mixes i havn't seen in the shops.

hooha! dj dawn you da man! nice set as usual, I have no complaints, very energetic, this definetly makes me wanna get up n dance... btw do you know how many bpms this set is runnin at?

Track selection is good, always at least a few tunes I've never heard of in there... and a few REALLY good ones... I look forward to next months'

It's all a matter of personal preference, but the two best tracks on the whole mix in my opinion are:

Wavescope - The Spirit (Wavetraxx mix)
Apollo - Dance (extended)

dj dawn, just one thing. you absolutely freakin rule!!!! your work is amazing. I love July 2002, my favorite trance set ever! but your webisite is not working for some reason the one im talking about is located at this url http://www.warezattack.com/dawn just though id tell you, maybe its just my computer. your stuff is great, i cant not dance to your mixes.

Posted by djdawn on Oct-18-2002 04:23:

yeah I'm painfully aware the site is down and can't do anything about it. Serialkiller from the di.fm boards offered the webspace and did the script, but I can't reach him now.
sorry about that.
you can grab the September mix at www.ilovetrance.de
greets,
Dawn

thank you for pointing that out the second time in this thread. I already asked you to clarify this for me but you didn't care to answer.
What is it then?

As I said I used the mp3 so there is no way of knowing it's fake and no way of knowing what it really is. So please tell me this time, ok?

sorry i dont come here that often, i probably missed it last time! yeh its not made by shokk but my theory is that it is a mix made by the peopel who made the track and they called it the "shock mix" and its been misinterpretted thru that, im guessing you got it from "specdrum"? coz thats where i got it from n it was labelled "shokk mix"

Posted by dood on Nov-01-2002 15:01:

here you go

DuMonde TrAnCeR you for sure can criticize other peoples work and complain about one thing that is not named right. Oh well it is not named right most of the people do not care, they care about the good mix and want to listen to it. So what, if it had a wrong name in the list, it can happen to everyone, everyone can make a mistake and not name it right.

Now when you can criticize Dj Dawn's work, and his mistakes, you do not have to listen to his mixes. And show me your work and your mixes(of course if you have any) then I will have a better idea of who you are and if I should listen to your criticizing. But now all I can say don't complain, and take what is given to you or not even take it at all.

Have a nice day!!!
