I've managed to find the original and seismix of waah and neither are it And even with the samples no one seems to be able to ID the tracks in the forum. This is a bad, naughty, EVIL Mystery Set!! I'm not giving up though!

Posted by Zoot on Oct-07-2002 02:30:

Is there noone out there that can figure out the first 5 tracks??
I'm getting bummed. If even the senior TA's can't ID any of them I'm not sure what hope there is. But I'm still not giving up! Do you guys have any ideas to get more people to check out the samples in the unknown tracks section?

Posted by Tr4nceMa5ter on Aug-15-2003 03:32:

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure track four is a heavily remixed, Chemical Brothers - Music Response. It sounds as if they upped the beats 20 or so...the original is much slower.

Posted by AnGeLicK on Aug-15-2003 05:15:

i have this... i too have no idea what the first 5 tracks are...

Posted by magrec on Aug-16-2003 10:07:

100% sure this is paul oakenfold.
Digweed played @ kremlin in december. He did a set only 1 time @ kremlin and that was the set in december.

could it possibly be sasha then?? coming from someone that has a ton of oakenfold livesets over many different years...these aren't songs that he played. but they are definitely sasha and digweed type tunes?? besides...if the dj is wrong...who said the date was right??

9) 49:27-56:01 - Tarrentella - Saturn (remix?)

and 9 isn't the Quivver mix... thats the only one i could find though

Looks like there also was released Tarrantella vs Redanka Mix, Mesosphere Mix, and Stratosphere Mix. I have been unable to locate these as of yet though.

My guess is that it is Sasha.

Posted by bedrocking on Dec-14-2003 13:03:

That setlist could easily be Dave Seaman or Anthony Pappa as well. I know both were those tunes at that time. It doesnt look like a digweed set from the time, nor really Sasha. Both were playing a bit darker at the time.

If you post up the other tracks i might be able to help.

Posted by Zoot on Dec-14-2003 20:51:

Wow! I'm so glad people are still posting guesses on this! I, unfortunately, burned myself out for the time being. There is a sample from "You Should Be Dancing" in it as well, but I'm not sure if it's the Blockster version or what.

Thanks for the DJ tips... I'll go download some of their live sets from around that time and take a listen. I figure it all comes down to finding someone that has a set with a tracklist that is spinning one of the tracks from this set, aka the Evil Mystery Set.

If you go to the Track ID forum, a couple of us put up some samples somewhere. I'm not sure if they're still up or not, but you could search the thread for them!

Posted by RJOllos on Dec-15-2003 02:27:

I've been trying to find Hybrid - Theme From Wide Angle (Rolling Thunder Dub) ... but i have yet to find a version like the one spun in this set with the muffled vocals towards the end.

Posted by Zoot on Dec-15-2003 05:13:

I don't recall hearing muffled vocals. I thought that they were just mixing in another song towards the end... that's what it sounded like to me at least :

Thats definitely a possibility. Some versions of this set i found where shorter, but the one i have right now is 70:30 in length.

Posted by Zoot on Dec-15-2003 06:20:

Yep, that's the same one I've got. At least, that's what we've been doing the tracklisting off of. I wish we'd gotten some responses on the track ID's... nobody seemed to know what they were

So here it is, 2010. And as I sit on my couch watching Bleach at 1am eating a bowl of Cap'n Crunch I realize that not all that much has changed in the DECADE I have been trying to frigging ID this bloody set! But the damn thing came on my iPod the other day in the car and it has not lost its luster one bit. So I decided to try google yet again and see if anyone had posted a tracklisting. What did I find? My own damn thread on tranceaddict! So bumpity bumpity bump- I've re-read and we are THREE AWAY from putting this thing to bed! Even if we're still not sure who mixed it. And things that *have* changed: I now speak some Dutch, spent a month outside of Utrecht in Amersfoort, and am an old lady. Oh and we now have better internet resources! I know these 3 tracks can be ID'd! Cheers!

Mongolian Darkness i dont think was ever officailly released as cannot find any info on the track at all.Which is a bummer cos its an absolute monster tune

number 5 i have no idea but all i can say is that it has samples from

Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancing

maybe that will help to id as is such a good tune IMO

anyways hope this is usefull to my fellow trance heads!
