-- The Love Festival in Rosarito This Weekend
Pages (2): « 1 [2]
hmmm.... doesn't look too busy but as long as the music was good and the people that went had fun...
I don't know how packed it was earlier in the evening, because I got there a little bit before 2AM. When we got there, there was a lot of people leaving (mainly girls and couples) and there was no line to get in. But there was at least a minimum of 250/300 people inside. I even asked someone and they said people were leaving the party, and I'm pretty sure it was the music.
The Legendary Doc Martin was KILLING it!! (Like Always) But the crowd wasn't feeling it, the vibe there fucking sucked! Worthy and Justin got the crowd going a bit more, but honestly it wasn't until Dj Kam went on and started playing "big room" tech house did the crowd start to wild out. Mind you this was already passed 6AM and the majority of the crowd had left already.
I kept on running into people in my hotel that were down there from LA/SD/OC for the festival yet the whole time I was there I never saw them. And I'm pretty sure it's because they had no idea what kind of music was going to played, they heard tech and bounced. The side room to the left of the stage was pretty small, but there were a few times where it was pretty packed and the DJ was playing shit top electro while trainwrecking. While in the main room you had Worthy dropping BOMBS!! So it made no sense to me really.

I wonder who Reza promoted it to or if he got any of the Mexican promoters involved. Some of the longtime local promoters have pretty big draws. TBH, I didn't hear about it Love Fest until a few days before. Also, to be fair, Rosarito has also been hit hard with the US crowd. It's tough getting people from this side to show up there.
So. He has all the money than was ever refunded from all the cancelled events??
Did you get a cut Nero?
Just saying, anyone supporting or playing for anything go ventures should have their heads examined.

| Originally posted by DjWoody I was there for Mexicali En La Playa and there were a lot more people everywhere. Most Hotels were sold out. My cousin couldn't find a room until Sunday. Mexicali En La Playa is a city wide event. It's not just the strip. There was something going on everywhere you went. I was over at the drag races on the other side of town and it was packed. The strip was packed when I was there too. It looked like the old days. Lots of bikes were parked outside of Papas & Beer and you couldn't find parking anywhere. The first five pics, is Lazaro Casanova during Mexicali En La Playa. The last two, is 3BallMTY (Mad Decent) two weeks ago. They both pulled pretty big crowds compared to Go Ventures. |

| Originally posted by Nerologic I was just going by what the Taxi drivers were telling me, they said the 2012's MELP was way bigger then this years. There's no way that The Love Festival can compete with an on going festival like that one. Especially with Lazaro, Mexicali LOVES that guy they book him ALL the time for a a good rate because he likes playing down there. 3BallMTY is the home team, you can't compete with those guys either because of course they are going to pull in a HUGE crowd. It rare that a underground tech/techno even pulls in big numbers. I mean shit Doc Martin played here in SD for FREE at Souleil and the turn out was okay and this was for a FREE party. |
I have no idea, it was supposed to be the "shrugs" emotion guy and it was for a bit then switched to a screen shot. The URL must have changed once I linked it?
