less than two months away....

Can anyone give me a bit of a breakdown RE: buying wristbands vs. waiting and buying tickets to the individual events?

I'd likely be going for 3/4 days. While we don't know this year's pricing, how have the individual events been priced historically? Also, one you have the ticket are you really disadvantaged vs. having a wristband?

Thanks.

you can find pricing on wantickets now, link is alwo on BPM website

ViP is pricey but if you're good at marathons and know how to pace then not having to wait in line for hour or two is massive advantage

Thanks for replying. What I was wondering is what the price is for the individual event tickets (historically), and how much does getting the VIP improve on the regular ticket experience?

I'm not associated with BPM, but based on previous years: Individual party ticket prices should range from $10 or 15 up to $40 or $50 for presales. Some day parties are possibly still free.

Presales are highly ecommeded for the busier night parties or go early (or way late) but most likely higher prices at door. A little planning goes a long way

VIP bands are useful if you want to hit up a lot of both the day and night parties and bounce around.

Buying individual parties comes out cheaper but presales highly recommended. I'm sure they'll release them on wanttickets and/or RA. You can also buy at the BPM store near the Aldea Thai near Kool beach.

Ok, so someone explain Tulum to me?

I know it's less than a hour from Playa. And I've heard and known of a few people who went to BPM but stayed in Tulum instead and didn't even hit the festival, or split their days between Playa and Tulum, or went to Tulum after as a mini relax detox sorta thing.

And to be honest, I had no idea about Tulum till just before BPM, and didn't even know how close it was till I heard stories after from people.

Now, what's going on in Tulum, keep seeing stuffs on the internets about private beach parties with BPM artists (I heard amazing stories of a Solomun beach party), seeing some podcasts and recordings arise from Tulum during the week of the festival. Some videos of Tulum after parties etc.

Is is some sort of VIP city hiding in the walls away from the 'douchey ravers'?

Industry people only? Artists and their peeps stay there?

What's the deal with Tulum?!

Mainly because it looks (and sounds) sweet, and if I do end up going next year to BPM (which is in the plans) I would def want to check out Tulum and if possible, would probably rather stay in between or something to enjoy both.

I didn't stay in Tulum, nor did i party there. But i too heard many people raving about how nice the beach was etc...

Also met a girl at day zero who moved from SF and now lives in Tulum.

Took a cab there on our last day in Playa after the festival to check it out. Amazing beach and laid back vibe there. Tried to get the cabbie to take us to get beer to take to the beach but all he understood was beer and beach, and took us to a restaurant/beach club thing. we walked the beach like 1 minute and found a little palapa where we could get nachos and $2 beers. Brought the beers down to the beach and laid out some towels and chilled there for the afternoon, just went back up to get more beer when needed.

Next year I will make sure to spend more time in Tulum if not stay there for half the trip. I would love to party there, from what i have heard from people

Theres also the Tulum ruins with the pyramids and such. Very touristy and i felt that we got a better "ruins experience" at day zero.

Anyone else hit up Day Zero? now that was a party

So, I know many people don't go all 9 nights, and seems like it's later this year.

So when are people going to go? Seems like some really good deals now with free cancellation on some all inclusive places.

Is it worth it to go for the first couple nights, or the last few for closing?

Considering flying as well, cheaper on weekdays?

And, what about Tulum, def going there, heard even more stories about better parties there. Almost like BPM was the commercial money making parties but the Tulum were the chilling afterparties with people just having a good time.

Planning on going. Disappointed about the date change though. My free week off falls on the old dates which would have meant I'd only need to book a couple extra shifts off. :/

Just did some rough calculations by going to some sites, you can stay right in the town pretty much, close to most places, all inclusive (wifi, food and drink) for 2 people from the 9th till 19th for $2600 ($260 a night). And from Detroit (closer to me) about $380 RT. Free cancellation, almost booked it, but realized it was free cancellation on a trip paid in full, not reserved. I can't front that kinda money right now.
