Less than a week to go!

I joined the forum this morning in a bit of a panic. Long story short, I had set up a grand elaborate plan for my birthday to make the 4-day drive down with some friends to see this show, but I found out just last night that something urgent has come up in their family and thus, I'm left on my own.

At first, I thought I'd just cancel the trip and try to find something else to do, but that just seems like a cop out. I already have the ticket and a car all ready to go, so I'm going to head down solo and it would be awesome if I could meet up with some of you guys so I don't get trancenapped.

So that being said...who wants to party?

Cliffnotes: Driving down solo for this show, would be nice to have a group to party with.

this shit is awful! it's amazing how these idiots eat up horrible dubstep... adventure club... not even close to dubstep that is worth a damn... deadmau5 better make it worth the hour I waited to get in this garbage... sad state of affairs

Lol sorry to hear. I saw my nephew in law this week with a dead mau 5 shirt..... He's like 10. I stick to my hipster underground events now and days.

ok so i was browsing around and found this thread and had to register so i could give me input.....

i live in tampa, ive been a deadmau5 fan for a few years now, but not back in 09 when he made his first appearance here so this was the chance of a lifetime for me. I have seen other live shows of his from youtube and such and i knew i would like it in person. sooo anyways here goes, i arrived at the stadium field at 4:45pm, i paid $10 to park and i was within like 3 rows of the fence line for the event. I stood in line till 5:30 and by 5:45 i was in and about 15 foot from the stage. im 31, i managed to make it till about 7:30pm till i had enough of sweaty dudes without shirts on being so close to me i could smell their pits. So i dipped out of the front and headed to the back by the entrance (about 150 yards or so from the stage) and waited for a group of more friends to arrive to meet up with. they finally got in around 9pm or so. I myself did not care for GTA or nom de strip or Adventure Club or NERVO. i was there for one reason and one reason only, to see joel live. Some of the music from the other dj's were ok but alot of it was like one person said, sorta dubstep but not really, and also some rap mixed in here and there, (which all the kiddies loved) but not me. im Old school florida/tampa breaks but deadmau5 has such unique music that i like it.

So anyways.. 10:30pm... they introduce Deadmau5, the crowd goes wild, all lights are off.... then boom, the full light show and music begins, none of the other dj's used all the LED lights and such, they only had a few strobe lights shining around and the 10x18 foot or so screen/video in front of the dj booth. Even though this was Deadmau5 Unhooked (didnt have his personal cube booth thing) it was still great light setup. I will admit the setup overall was flawless, the sound was clear even in the very back, in fact i know of people that live by USF that could hear the bass and make out what song was playing. For those that live in tampa should know that is far away from the stadium. So Deadmau5 for 90 minutes was amazing. i stayed out of the crowded front and just danced next to my friends and enjoyed everything, even had random people come up to me and talk to me and had no problems with some asshole bumping in to me, except for up front where the jitter bugs were.

So for those that went i hope you enjoyed it as much as i did, it was the best $45 + $10 for parking i spent and made 2013 end on a great note. I did end up talking to a fellow native that went aswell and managed to record like 99.9% of the show from the front so if you want to check it out here is the youtube link, i helped him with it since he didnt know how to merge all his videos to be one complete vid. Sound recording from his phone (galaxy note 3) was ok considering how freaking loud the bass was, my galaxy nexus sounded way worse so this is about as good as it gets seeing as i really doubt a professional recording of this was done..

so give it a view if your curious or want to remember that night, i already saved the video myself.
