Once is a stretch, but I know what you mean. I didn't think it was that funny either.

what the hell was wrong with Contact?

Jurassic Park 2 sucked indeed. As for Contact, I was great all that way up until the thing they build gets destroyed and another one just happens to exist without any knowledge by anyone felt really contrived. It's been a long time since I seen it though but that's just how I remembered it.

It was pretty fucked up. It took place in China and the focus was Kung Fu, and not one Japanese person either

yeah, fair enough

other thing was the whole court scene where the guy proposed it was just an elaborate hoax, that was pretty ridiculous

little interesting coincidence... in Contact young jodie foster is the same actress as the girl in Donnie Darko, both movies deal with time travel and both specifically mention the einstein-rosen bridge. I ended up watching those movies back to back one night and it was kinda weird

Posted by Syntonic on Oct-09-2013 00:49:

Oh yeah, that was another thing too. I will cut some slack though as it was a very thought provoking movie.

I never knew that about both movies? Donnie Darko will get the blood running for sure and Contact isn't that bad, I just agree when the guy built the same machine was a little cheese.

AvP & AvP: Requiem.

The special effects were cool - I'll give 'em that. Plus, the action sequences in AvP 1 were decent, too. AvP: Requiem didn't appeal to me at all. The human interactions between Alien and Predator were COMPLETELY unnecessary. If they deleted all the human interaction scenes and added more AvP scenes, I'd probably have a better chance of enjoying parts of the movie at all.

More so, the plots were garbled and particularly, these films fell short of the "hype" and high standards expected from merging two of the most successful, Sci-Fi Action / Thriller franchises of our time.

Contact was good.

Conan the barbarian 2011

What a huge let down.

I actually like Matrix 2 and 3, but I do wish they had gone in a different direction after 1.

Star Wars Prequels and Indiana Jones Crystal Skull are definitely the biggest disappointments for me.

I have rather low expectations of most movies going in, so I can't really remember the latest time a movie disappointed me.

Posted by echosystm on Oct-09-2013 07:06:

Every Batman since Michael Keaton.

Posted by Lews on Oct-09-2013 07:11:

I was definitely disappointed in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight rises, but I enjoyed Batman Begins. Damn curse of the sequel and damn Christopher Nolan.

Posted by Juan Paulino on Oct-09-2013 07:12:

Matrix 1's concept idea was brilliant and a first. They needed something more bizarre and original for a sequel.

TDKR was the shittiest "blockbuster" movie I have seen in a very long time.

I almost walked out after the airplane scene with its lazy dialogue. I actually had thoughts of suicide when he said, "FOR YOU", but I didn't have too high of expectations, so I was mentally prepared.

EDIT: To prevent people from thinking I'm a critical asshole who can't enjoy things, I will say that I enjoyed the hell out of Pacific Rim. I went in thinking it was going to be a god awful movie but I actually found it to be a fun movie. Nothing Oscar worthy of course... But fun.

Pacific Rim was a huge steaming pile of shit.

Posted by srussell0018 on Oct-09-2013 14:19:

You're only saying that because of your first hand experience with pacific rims.
