Damn, i wouldn't think anybody would say this track...but i would 100% agree!!!! Awesome to wake up to really really loud on my stereo, so chilled out. I love it

Other good tracks are Never Gonna Come Back Down, Running Down the Way Up is another sick sick track. Co-produced with Mike Truman from Hybrid. Mercury & Solace is probably my favourite progressive trancer of all time. Makes me feel good whenever i listen to it

Flaming June. Especially since i Matt Hardwick and Scott Bond played it 11 days ago at Gatecrasher. It was heaven

Well i like remember the "12 inch mix and Never Gonna Come Back Down (Hybrid Mix) but the killer for me is Sunblind. In my opinion one of the best composed songs ever as far as elements go man i love that and its 10 mins long as well, not too mention the lovely vocals of ms johnston to top it off. The m an poured his soul into that one

Amen to that! I can't believe I missed this track and only heard it recently on his latest album "10 years in the life". Very special track indeed. Sounds so much like something that would come out of LTJ Bukems "Good Looking Records" label. This track is smooth like butta.

Edit: BTW I just noticed you said its on his E.S.C.M. album. Wutchu talkin bout willis? It isn't on mine. Where can I find this?

GodSpeed has to be my fav, although all the others mentioned here are awsome. A very talented producer.

what do you guys think about BT - race wars ??

Posted by Azareal on Oct-02-2002 04:42:

Flaming June! Killer choon. Oakenfold spun this way back in tha day - smooth, deep, uplifting. All of these and more. Toss in a sweet piano break, and you have one hell of a song.
From the batch of his 'newer' stuff - I would have to pick Godspeed - a driving track that never got as much recognition as it should have.

Here's my reply (edited) on the 1st page:

Nice reviews of BT's older stuff and more info here : http://www.global-trance.co.uk/B_T.html

So u must have the US version of E.S.C.M. with Lullaby For Gaia instead of The Road To Lostwithiel.., that's why it's not on your album.

There's also 2 PvD mixes of Remember,
Paul van Dyk's Recollected Remix 10:21
Paul van Dyk's Totally Recalled Mix 10:47

The real name of that track is Kaistar - Promethean Groove (Deepsky Remix). Kaistar is BT's alias..

I just heard the sample they provide on cdnow and didn't really like it. I kind of compared it to Oakenfolds Swordfish stuff since BT did that for the Fast and the Furious sdtk.

Posted by Scorchio on Oct-02-2002 07:22:

Mercury And Solace

No question about it.

Posted by Kirby on Oct-02-2002 14:41:

Dreaming, and Namistai...
although I still love "Believer" too, which I heard on the GO soundtrack before I started liking BT a lot, and fell in love with because of its context. It still covers me in chills...

umm itd be alright if it was a full fledged trance song and not a snippet from a movie score. btw - i love all the movies he has scored. i just think that Race Wars, Dominic's Story and the like shouldn't really be included...alt i think theyre excellent too!

yeah its from FaTF, but why compare it...BT has ALWAYS made breakbeat trance...way before oakey even. plus these arent full songs like oakey...just pieces of a score|

Early BT

Funny how so few have nominated tracks from the first album, wel I'd go for 'Embracing the Sunshine'. Also try and check out the Carl Craig mix of 'Relativity'.

Was 'Flaming June' a collaboration with PvD or did he just do a remix?

Embracing The Sunshine is one of my BT favs as well, especially Sasha Remix..

And yes, Flaming June was a collaboration between BT & PvD.

BT - Mercury & Solace (Dub)

Not just the best BT tune ever, but the best full stop

Posted by UWM on Oct-02-2002 20:13:

BT - Dreaming (Lucid Mix) or Mercury and Solace

Both I love.

ive heard this too...but i have 2 versions on my comp, where one is just bt, and it has that typical bt sound...but i also have one that says PvD for the remixer, which sounds like paul and bt...hmmm|

or at least i DID

Posted by Sand Leaper on Oct-02-2002 20:39:

Hmmmm... it's a tie between Dreaming (Lucid's 12" Mix) and Running Down The Way Up for me,with Mercury & Solace following close behind.
