Can we stop with the Stereo comparisons? There is only one Stereo.

As for Coda, I'm sure the owners will make it heavy duty.

I would love any club in Toronto to have a the stadium style seating area Stereo has. Not only does it provide an amazing view for so many, but to turn around and see it from the dance floor during peak hour is nuts. DJing in that club must be one hell of a fucking thrill.

LOL at this post. Its not like the promoters arent trying. I always love when people say book so and so, they dont come here enough. High demand artists are high demand in CITIES AROUND the world, not just Toronto!

As much as I want to see all these djs, they're all VERY expensive and it would take a massive amount ticket sales to justify it. Something I'm guessing most promoters aren't willing to risk.

looking forward to my first visit at Coda. heard nothing but good things so far!

Although it would be fun to see some of these DJs, many of them cost a lot more than they're worth. Most of them were better 10-20 years ago (depending on the DJ), and now charge huge and often unreasonable fees based on the reputation they've built, even though they're past their primes.

I'm sure that any of these DJs are capable of throwing really fun parties (re: Digweed @ Stereo in November), but I'd say it's a better move to focus on up-and-coming DJs who can still draw quite a crowd, are cheaper, and are more popular with the newer generation of clubbers. The recent Bicep/George Fitzgerald party is an example of the kind of parties I'd like to see a lot more of at the new club. Save the old guard for the big budget, few-times-a year parties. The new guard should become the norm.

I agree.

Some of those DJs listed aren't worth the money they are asking for.

It was fun to see Hot Since 82's debut in Toronto at Footwork and the next time he came back he was king shit. I agree with your philosophy on new talent Highroller!

Would love to see Coda adapt LED for their light show. So simple and cheap and really adds to the experience. Bonus is - the dance floor still stays dark
