Most tunes of this year are awesome! Really good Trance Year like 99!
Trance will never die 
good music takes time and cant be churned off like goods off a conveyor belt. the demand for trance has peaked this summer and as a result there has been a lot of watered down stuff put out to cope (and leech off the demand). this watered down stuff is bland and has no lasting appeal. you need to give these producers time to come up with the more original quality tracks.
ive seen the rise and fall of trances popularity so many times now ive learned that all good things come to those who wait...

1999 was a great year for trance music, but I really don't think that, as a whole, the music was significantly better than any other year. It's a bit overrated. There was plenty of bland crap in 99 just as 2000 and 2001. People remember 99 for specific artists: Ferry, Tiesto, Armin, PVD and a few others. Yes their music has changed - they've gained mainstream appeal and their styles follow trends closer than they used to. Like they say, there's other fish in the sea.
Basic rule of thumb... if any artist achieves a level of notoriety where they are able to release a full-length album, there's a good chance it will be commercial. An album needs to sell, get airplay,etc etc etc. It's no longer just about clubgoers, It needs to sell to wider audiences who shop at places like Best Buy. There's plenty of budding new artists releasing great tracks - there's really no need to remain so attached to Ferry and the like. I used to love Rank 1. Thn they changed from their signature symphonic synths to a style which I feel is very generic. Their mixes no longer stand out to me, so I now look for others that do.
I've found this year to have a lot of great artists. Flutlicht has been making a killing lately. That Thrillseekers remix is mindblowing (to me at least). DJ Scot Project as well - Banging Globe remix anyone? SHOKK is awesome. Alphazone - I second that one, great stuff!! Anything on the Bonsai/Lightning label.
I think people need to stop freaking out over Tiesto going progressive and Armin going pop, and start focusing on other stuff out there. Look around enough and I'm sure you'll discover something that will take its place.
Music, like so many things in life, is no better or no worse than what you make of it.

I didnt bother reading much into all the post but if music was to not change we would all be listening to some monkey beating on a tree. Sooo to dwell in just one era of music is retarded. Music evolves almost as though it is alive sooo to say trance or rock or anything is declining....well its not it's evolving.....for better or worse it will change and there is no stoping it. Embrace it and enjoy it.

i think this year has been a bomb of new orignal tunes
and i think its stupid to say that every artist sounds the same...
i mean all djs found there style....and of course they continue on it cause its what made them to they are....
ive been searching for tunes a lot this year....found A LOT of good tunes
i find a new very good tune every week if ireally try....
funny how u mentiones dumonde as one of those who doesnt sound the same all the time
cause i got fed up with dumonde cause its sounds so similiar all of his songs lol
oh well...i used to misslike paul van dyk...then i downloaded one of his live sets here from TA and i really liked his way of mixing and etc
u just need to open ur eyes......
