Just got here. Dragged myself out for this one. Solarstone and Orkidea were too impressive last time they came to New York. I bought Solarstones Pure Trance Vol 2. Last month. Great double album mixed by him and Giuseppe. Have been listening to it over and over. Viper, if you are here, I am rocking my ASOT 600 shirt.
reviews?
couldnt make it, went to work instead
but i spoke to vicious panda earlier in the night and he said orkidea was laying it down

Orkidea was just brilliant.. I came in a bit late cuz I couldn't find the place and my phone wouldn't cooperate.. but only 30 minutes, I walked right in the moment when Orkidea was mixing Pachanga Boys - Time with some other awesome prog house track.. From then on I was in progressive house heaven.. He played some cool prog house for about 45 minutes when he started switching things around to trance to lead in Solarstone. Orkidea finished with Unity.
Solarstone was also awesome, as you'd expect the trance he usually plays, he was in his element and played a really solid set. Power went out twice during his set.
I didn't stay for Alex as I knew my commute back home would be long and I was pretty beat by that point.
SRB Brooklyn is beautiful, I liked it a lot. The sound system in that place is excellent. The lay out is almost an exact copy of Echo Stage in DC only, of course, a lot smaller. Lighting is pretty good too. If this place was in the city it would be very popular.

there've been lots of complaints about SRB in the past, esp. the sound, so Im glad to hear that's improved.
personally, I've not had a bad time there on crowding or sound, except for the bathroom location, which takes forever to get to.

| Originally posted by Pantone199c I saw the Pure Trance showcase during WMC last year and not a single dj there played anything that wasn't Trance. Lineup was Kristina Sky, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Solarstone, and JOOF. Whole night was a blast and Joof really brought it to close out the night. Out of all the Trance "brands" out there, Pure Trance is one of the few that I actually trust. |
You guys should come out next Friday for Will Atkinson !
