As such they usually go out in groups and just try to look like they are the shit.

But really, don't a lot of boarders spend a lot of the time sitting on their asses? Usually they sit in large groups blocking a nice a ridge or a good jump ... pisses the shit out of me.

i know what your talking about and i hate it too... if your going to jump go and if your going to wait for someone to pull a good trick GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY SO THEY CAN.

Nah ... I surf, I skate and I ski but I just can't get into boarding.

Most of my mates board and there are a lot of cool guys out there who board, but on my local mountain anyway, it sometimes seems like snowboarding is just a magnet for thousands of ill-mannered pre-teenage assholes who just wanna show off, mouth off, do f*ck all snowboarding and a lot of talking and posing. Sad but true.

Right... some skiers are the same that way. They just show off swooshing around. But, why hate them? Everybody does their own thing. What's it to you anyways? Are you skiing or people-watching?

I used to ski for 9 years before I tried snowboarding one winter about 6 years ago.. and I just found it to be much more fun, so I never went back to skiing.

Hehe I don't show off swooshing ... I show off by doing crazy shit off of jumps hehehe. But anyway I didn't say I hated shitty boarders or people trying to learn. I said that I hated posers who act like they are the shit and boarders who get in groups and take like 30 minute breaks right at the lip of a jump or right below it. Much in the same regard I hate idiotic skiers that that always find the perfect time to cut you off. And trust me ... the only time I people watch is when I'm waiting for a jump to get cleared. Once my goggles are on and my boots are buckled after a lift I'm gone ...

And with regards to difficulty, I would definetely say that boarding is much harder to pick up. But I think that the learning curve is different. Although skiing is easier to pick up, once you get to a certain point it takes so much more effort to improve your form. Also mastering tricks off of jumps is so much harder with skiis. Once you get tricks down pat though ... they do look crazy, good.
