Vivid, I feel bad for your friend, but please console him not to abort. That is such a crappy situation to be in, but there are always post birth options that are available so that they do not have to "ruin their lives'" There were an estimated 1,328,000 "legal" abortions last year, "There have been more than 40 million abortions in the twenty six years since the U.S. Supreme Court legalized unrestricted abortion on January 22, 1973." If they abort, its better sooner than later, still...

There are plenty of people that would like a nice lil daughter Remember to be supportive of the decision no matter what though!

Last year my good friend got her gf pregnant. They are both under 20. They were stupid and didn't use protection and I smacked him for not using a condom. After talking to eachother's parents and many hours of bitchings they decided to get an abortion. They are way too young to have a child or to get married. They both are in University and cannot afford to skip their education. I support abortion as long as its justified.

I hope your friend makes the right decision. Your friend shouldn't listen to what everybody wants him to think. He should decide on his own with his partner.

a few years ago when i was 16 and i my gf was 17...we did it and her period was 2-3 weeks LATE

it was the most trippy fuckin experience ever. I didnt even like her that much and was more into her friend, but for that amount of time ive never been so fucked out of my mind worrying. Wow, hopefully i get into that situation, and im never going in without a connie is she isnt on the pill.

I also dont think that at that age u have a baby u should get married. That ruins relationships and people to get married at a young age, not because of lover but because of a baby.

3) keeping the child and giving it up for adoption

They are too young. Raising a child at that age is a mess. They will not be able to finish education (her: can't be in pregnant and in school.. him: he would have to work to support them). And bye-bye parties, friends, life! So, in my view that's not an option.
Another bad one is giving it up for adoption. She will regret it later in life. And how is she going to go on with her life, knowing she gave up the kid and someone else is raising it.
So, those that are against abortion, especially guys.. skip these next few lines. It's a woman's choice. After all, it will be her who decides whether she wants to carry that child or not. The guys will not be pregnant for 9 months. There is a pill called RU 480-something (?) and it's a medication that will stop the growth of a fetus in the early pregnancy. It is not painful if done before the deadline. All it does is blocks the progesterone hormone and expels the embryos, which makes the uterus break (it's not painful as it sounds... she just bleeds as in a normal menstual cycle). The absolute final deadline is 9 WEEKS INTO PREGNANCY, however the sooner, the better. It's supervised and done in 4 visits to the clinic. If she is more than 9 weeks pregnant if she wants to abort she has to get the fetus surgically removed, where it is literally "vacuumed" out of her.

And no, this hasn't happened to me. I had a friend (actually 2) who needed me to come along at the time, so I learned.

I think it depends on your friend's and his gf's parents. Ive seen some friends get pregnant and ended up not being so bad since their parents totally supported them. But then again, i have a friend that got his girl pregnant and both their parents went ape nutz which totally made their lives a living hell. They ended up having the baby so to make ends meet, my friend had to enlist in the army while his gf stayed at home and i think is baby sitting other kids too. Its really a shame though because his gf was super hot and was attending a respected college for singing. Now shes at home

sorry i'm gonna have to disagree here. i dont support abortion either but until a guy experiences carrying a child to term for nine months i'm not gonna force a woman to experience that so i can be a standup guy. his friend facing up to the consequences is only half of it. she has to agree to carry this child for nine months and give birth on her own.

At 18 years old, I think having the baby and then having it adopted is a bad idea. SHe's throwing away a year of school, and also has to go through all the sickness and or pain involved with being pregnant. If it's not too late then abortion is the best plan. They are both too young to support the kid properly, and sending him for adoption is just going to put the girl into a lot of misery. Oh, and guys remember not to keep condoms in your wallet :P

the RU pill i had thought was only legal in europe? is it legal over in the americas now? i know someone who has permanent medical problems due to taking the morning after pill.. i know its not the same as the RU pill, just felt like pointing that out.

as far as your friend is concerned, if he didnt want to deal with a high school girl getting pregnant, he should have kept his dick and his hormones in his pants. i dont care if you say it was "her fault" (unless she tied him down and raped him, i dont buy that)... it takes two to have sexual intercourse and thus, he has to deal with the consequences that might arise from it. so im not sure what you mean when you ask "what should my friend do". he isnt the one with a uterus, therefore, really, he cant do shit. she will have to choose if she has an abortion or not. because unless the guy starts pounding on her stomach with a crowbar, she will be the only one who can make that decision. if it was me, id have already made the abortion appt and had it over with very soon... lots of girls arent like that tho, shrug.

this comparison is absurd. tumors or parasites jeopardize the life a person, a child does not. besides, this is a clump of human cells we are talking about. you don't just take away a life like that. agreed, the foetus is just in the very beginning of his growth, but you can't just kill it because one 'assumes' his life is going to be like hell. in my opinion, abortion = murder. there are plenty of other solutions...

Most tumors are benign, and they usually do NOT jeopardize the life of a person. Most parasites, likewise, have a vested interest in keeping the person alive, since the death of the host usually leads to the death of the parasite. now, lets say that i get pregnant, and i dont want to deal with a kid in my life. if i give it up for adoption, like i already mentioned, not only will i have to deal with it later in life, but it will probably be a lot more traumatic for the said child.

you say it isnt a risk to your body, but it can be. id discuss that a little but arbiter summed it up nicely.

i dont know, i apologize if, because my morality level isnt the same as yours, that i feel i shouldnt have to put myself through three months straight of puking non stop, contractions which feel 10 thousand times worse than a period (which i might add, feels like knives stabbing into your abdomen for at least a day, some girls, it lasts longer), severe back problems, purple stretch marks which most people will have permanently all over their stomach, and many other choice things, just for the sake of a clump of cells that i could easily have removed when i first find out im pregnant. its just not a logical trade in my book.
