Seb has changed a lot I've got one of the earlier prototype Cds i thought that it was a really good CD. |

I don't think Pvd or Tiesto is progressive. Tiesto has been using progressive sounds in his productions ie: das glockenspiel remix.

gotta result to my oldies. hehe. i love em though...
the sound of 2001 and after will be only uplifting trance in my ears, and that is all that matters...let society, yourself and time change.. for i will not
I agree. I think that the trance crowd will slowly start to dwindle. Once ecstacy and other club drugs become less popular, all the people who listened to trance just to trip will be sifted out, and all that will be left are true trance addicts. And that's OK because it's all about the music anyways. Who needs a crowd. As long as you enjoy trance, or any other music for that matter, it doesn't matter what everyone else is doing. So stop worrying about the "sound of 2001" and just listen to whatever you feel like, and I'm sure for most of you that's Trance.
true..... true....

I read an aritcle in the paper about Defstar Keith (my boss Ive never met-he is the Calgary promoter who brings everyone) and he says that UK garage 2 step is the next big thing that is about to hit. Now I have no clue what this is(maybe I do, just dont know the name) but according to him, and he is the promoter, this is gonna be big. NE1 agree?

i definitly cant really judge the sound for next year. but as for this year i think its more progressive than anything else everyone who you least expect to play progressive (the judge) are starting to include it in their sets.
UK 2 step is something that i personally would take into consideration as making it into the music of 2002 not because i want it to but because its hinting towards that way. Theres been way more garage than like the last 4 years put together
Trance though will always stay and remain. Whether it will become more vocal or uplifting or darker i have not idea. There seems to be more uplifting/progressive trance around though
Well, yes , the sound of 2001 in some parts of the world will be the Progressive sound, where some others, trance is just starting to kick off ( dont ask me where, but there has to be, Asia for EX.) And well, progressive sound it is, but I personally dont like a set full of progressive, it gets boring with just the beats, you need the DJ Jamx DUmonde kinda sound included, as well the melodics, uplifting tunes to break it..
Hopefully, the EPIC and uplifting will make a come back some time in the next X years.. for what many will have this sound going underground ( trance ?? ) and then come back once again.. and about the Garage.. I know the Gatecrasher population are doing their best on trying to destroy that sound in the UK :-)
actually.. the trance scene in asia is more developed than it is in the US... arguably..
well its definitely older..
if u take asia .. as including, singapore, japan, hongkong, india..
itself.. is already sufficient enuf to prove that =p
singapore... has zouk, and had Renaissance sound in the country way before the US did..
Hong Kong.. u have about every known DJ in the world goin there these days.. pvd there twice last year.. sasha, digweed, all..
india.. goa trance.. says it all
Japan.. Liquid Rooms, says it all
way before any of the big trance clubs in the US were around
Ooohhhhh.. wow Infinity.. I dunno, thats what I thought, since I heard Paul Oakenfold and other DJ's mentioning that trance as a whole in China, Japan and around there , it was like a fresh sound, since there they arent so much into clubbing.. and that Oakey was gonna focus his GIGS tours there, so did PvD mantioned on one interview, that his also been called to asia, and that shows that is fresh and growing.. but thats what I read.. I dunno further.. you may be right :-)
lol its all good man.. hehe.. and i assure u coz i've been there.. but yea...
if anything.. its the antarctican scene hehe =p if there was one
