Or trance is for children and deep house and techno is for us more mature adults, please just get the hell out with that.

I'm done here, w.e

That's no offense to the people still into it or trying to earn a living by it, but as a listener of music in general I don't see how you can't progress from that sound considering the deeper stuff (and not necessarily darker) that's out there. I don't know, I think of my lifelong listening experience as a progression. I've brought this up before. Started with hip hop, but if you want to stay underneath the electronic umbrella - Trance is Barney & Friends while techno is Pulp Fiction. That's how I view it, anyways. And who knows how much deeper or darker it can get before you find yourself sitting in a cafe with a glass of wine, puffing a cigar, listening to Jazz or some other old timer music.

Anyways, I went off topic as I sit here stoned, lol.

I meant to say I enjoyed the first half of that mix

I'm gonna go have a beer and wake up now.

OrangestO you must have been smoking some shwag to come into my event thread with this techno elitism bullshit. Get the fuck out of here with that nonsense.

Lol. I rest my case.

I gotta admit I still like trance -- the good, dark, banging kind. Disagree that it's any sort of "lesser" sound. The sounds of guys like Airwave, J00F, Lawrence, Neelix, Menno, etc can be totally intoxicating given the right show.

The problem is the lack of such a scene in FL. The only places with a good scene are NYC and Western Europe. Plus theres just not enough quality releases.

I may or not make this show but CL can spin some badass music.

It's easy to say the scene is better in NY or Western Europe, I'm not going to argue that. However, each party can have its own sort of magic. It's the coming together of the right people and the music that makes a great party. If you enjoy artists that play dark and banging sounds, get a group of friends together and come have fun. We are bringing world class talent to your backyard, in an intimate setting. The party will go on and we will have fun with or without you. We would rather it be with you though.

I've always thought the point of forums, as opposed to social media, is the concept of actual human conversation. You're just posting a bunch of one-liners from a social media site, or even worse, live quotes from attendees that night. What makes forums like this interesting to read is actual conversation (positive or negative, funny or serious, etc). Your posts are becoming promotional ads to get people to the show. It's cool if you post the event and the flyer and throw in some good words but at this point it's becoming annoying. IOW, post an actual review if you're posting reviews.

My 2 cents.

Dude, are you that insecure about your event?

You look like a teenage boy wearing a t-shirt reading "I have a big dick."

Know your audience. No one on this forum will give credence to one-liners posted by the promoter.

Write a real review or don't write anything at all.

If Donnie came on here and did something like that for one of his events I'd LMAO. True story.

Nope, not insecure at all. Just showing naysayers like you that people who went to the event had a great time and that people still enjoy a night of Trance. I'm not going to waste time writing a review so you can sit behind your computer and talk shit.

Posted by OrangestO on Apr-27-2015 15:58:

I'd respect your post a lot more if you took the time to give us an insider's perspective of the event - a real review.

I'm talking shit because you avoided that and resorted to posting some one-liners from Facebook.

Your shit is weak sauce, ninja.

Says the person who sits behind a computer and talks shit about trance on a trance message board. You live quite the good life. I don't respect you or your opinion enough to write a real review.

That's fine, but I'm sure others on here would be interested.

If you're all about spreading the trancz love as much as you say, you'd take a minute or two to write one in hopes of attracting someone new to a future event.

It appears you could use the funds. It also beats a room filled with old timers stuck in the past .

That's what I did until OrangestO got a hard on for my post and started running his mouth about trance. In an earlier post I told you that the show would go on with or without you, that we would all have a good time and that we preferred it would be with you. Sorry it annoys you that I posted direct feedback from people who actually attended the event to back up this statement.

Where is there a room full of old timers stuck in the past? What do my funds have to do with anything? You are just spouting out nonsense again.

What the hell is this? This is completely idiotic to post random quotes with not even a name associated with it. It would make just a tad more sense to let an actual person make a post with a real review.

It was posted to back up a statement that I made earlier. You can take it out of context if you want. I apologize and should have been more clear and said that this was feed back that I received from people who attended. Not that it was a review.

Look, I would have went if I didn't have to work. I'm a bartender and Friday nights are my #1 shift of the week. Can only take off so many "money" shifts and I just did WMC a month ago, plus paid for a flight to Sweden last week. I've been to the trance night at Bikurri and I agree that it is fun.

But us that have been on this forum for a long period of time look at this place as a way to openly discuss music in a very candid nature. It's like the anti-Facebook or Twitter.

BTW, saying that this is just a trance site is misleading. Sure, the name implies that this site is all about trance, but if you peruse the other subforums, so much music is being discussed by so many members of the site that is decidedly NOT trance. For many of us, trance was the avenue by which we got into electronic music, myself included. I still do like it, but am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to that sound.

Of course you're gonna get a bunch of great reviews for the show. The only people attending it are the hardcore trancers who still love it. And the only people posting on your FB page about how much they love it are people who...well...love it.

You could book a banquet hall, throw some decent speakers in it, bring that crew of DJs, and receive the same comments from the same crowd. Why? Because it's their only choice when it comes to attending a trance event today. You get kudos for that, at least.

BTW, this forum is as much as trance today as Bill Cosby is a family man.

What happened to cause you to become so bitter and condescending? I could care less if this forum is as much trance as Bill Cosby is a family man. It's still Tranceaddict! Sorry, Trance is not going away anytime soon!
The statement I was backing up was this one and it wasn't to you. "The party will go on and we will have fun with or without you. We would rather it be with you though". The comments I posted, whether you liked them or not, showed that people had fun, exactly like I said they would.
There was also clearly another choice when it came to attending an event that night. As was discussed earlier in this thread, there was an event called "1 Night in Miami" at the world famous club Space that booked similar Trance artists on the same night. There was also Subculture in NYC that people from here flew to, to attend.
One thing I think we can agree on is that the trance events that I'm involved with don't matter to you anymore. If this is true, then there is no need for you to respond to them unless you are only doing it to be a dick.

I understand all this as I've been a member on here longer than most everyone except, Pat. However, I don't think it's very candid in nature to come to a site called tranceaddict and attack someone who is doing some of the only trance events in the state, or be condescending to the people attending! I stand by the fact that, that is a condescending/dick move.
