-- netlove?

well I think internet is just a different medium, a different way of interacting compared to what was done in the past.
Example :
in the past some people would write letters to each other bla bla bla and eventually feel in love ( not that it was a common thing either )....
well me personnaly, my grandparents, ( I don't know the whole story that's true ... or kinda forgot it ) well they went back and forth writing letters for like a year or so and one day good old grandpa asked her in mariage in one of the letters without ever having meet my later to be grandma.... ain't that odd?
well I think internet love is totally possible, but you have to be totally honest with yourself and ..... not rush anything, cause getting caught up is so damm easy, you like , create a dream character from the person you talk to online .... and sometimes they do the same, or more often don't ...
I say, just be careful, take your time. And don't open your mouth first if you feel you got to say something

I've had baaaaaaad experiences with net love (or as i was trying to do, hook up with some cheap pussy). Just always follow the golden rule: If a girl says she's really hot but doesn't have any pictures of herself or says "sorry the pic is dark", she's ugly.
However I did *somewhat* meet my ex on the net. I talked to her on icq for about 6 months, then met her in a club not knowing who she is. After I got her number and started talking to her for a few weeks, I realized it was the same person. That relationship lasted 1 1/2 years, then she turned all weird on me.
But other than her, every girl I met on the net was either a whore, ugly, or both. If u don't care about looks, that's good for u. But unfortunately I can't be with them unless I can honstly say I think they're beautiful.
oh, and I just remembered one story that brings hope to people looking for love on the net. My manager's cousin met this guy on random chat about 2-3 years ago, and she's getting married to him this saturday. Both are really nice people, and they are able to fulfill each other's needs so I wish them the best of luck.

if you're shallow enough to let yourself be summarized through a keyboard, photoshop and fiber optic cables, sure why not? jk
there are many possibilities
i think you are more likely to open up on the internet more than you would in person, therefore making it possible to really get to know someone...but everyone is different, so it's hard to generalize.

| Originally posted by Essential1 Yes, this is true. The reason why it's easier to open up to someone on the internet is b/c u don't have to look them in the eye and say something. For example, if someone on the net told u "i think ur sexy", most ppl would just take it as a compliment. Now if a total stranger came up to u in person and said the same thing, there is more chance of rejection. |

going on bbs when you were 5?
::cough::
no wonder you believe in internet love.
if i was 5 when bbses came out, id be like what, 12 or 13?
read it again. i said ive been USING COMPUTERS since i was 5-6. the computer that i first used was an old apple i think it was, we learned how to program BASIC (i forget the syntax really.. "print?" i think, etc).. to make simple programs. it was at this school i went to once a week outside of real school.
BBSes didnt come along until like 7-8 years ago i believe... which would mean if i was 5 when i logged onto them, that would make me around 13 (and i already said im 21.). i met a best friend that i had for awhile, and a boyfriend off local BBSes... both of those people are still very important to me, and hold fond memories.. that was when i was 15, but i think i had been using them a year or two prior to that.
