I still think the Virus C is one of the best looking synths ever.

Posted by DJ RANN on Aug-20-2015 18:29:

Damn this takes me back. I was working at the global distributor for Acess products when the launched the C. It really was the game changer at that time and in the last two decades, there really hasn't been a synth that made as much of an impact across so many genres.

I will say the early OS's were buggy as fuck and updating them via sysex midi was a complete fucking pain.

Yup, it really is dark and moody. I love it.

I'm actually going to be doing a video review of the Mystery Island VST editor which I've got high hopes for. It'll virtually turn it into a Ti, but one that actually works in sync!

What you guys think of the System-1m semi-modular synth?

yeah have some GAS for that alright - would be a sweet addition IMHO!

July/August have been quite crazy for me. Sold my KingKorg, Microwave XT, SE-1X, Bass Station II, and Studiologic Sledge.

Replaced them with a fully expanded Nord Lead 1, Virus TI2 Desktop, Novation Nova, and Waldorf MicroWave 1 Rev A. Have had the NL1 and TI2 for a few weeks while the Nova just arrived this week. Still waiting on the MW1 from Germany but hopefully it comes next week.

I'm absolutely DONE buying new synths for a long time and sticking with what I got. It's time to get busy and I wish it wouldn't have taken this long to finally realize I love the traditional Nord Lead/Virus/Supernova sounds.

Get off TA, it's your birthday

Have a good one

Posted by Mel David on Aug-23-2015 05:41:

Eh, you saw the Australian flag below my avatar & decided to check out my profile and coincidentally found out it's my b'day. Middle-age here I come!

Right now I am gassing for this custom Prophet-12. But not more than I am gassing for its owner.

Should have kept the wooden end cheeks though.

Ms Swift really ought to do some vocal trance tracks and get off the hip-pop bandwagon for a while.

Happy birthday, Mel!

Me too,...and me too!

I had a chance to go see her at Soldier Field when I was in Chicago last month, but I turned it down like an idiot because our flight was leaving at 5am the following morning. Dumbest decision I've made all year.

Hahaha, nah, it came up in the TA birthday list on the main forum page

Posted by Mel David on Aug-26-2015 02:56:

Well thanks for the b'day wishes. Was pretty uneventful; due to heavy rain, didn't end up going out to celebrate so I need to make up for that still.

My YouTube history shows I've been watching gear reviews almost everyday for the past month, but I've resisted so far. I could buy a new synth... Then I found this pic on my desktop remembering that I really, really want that heavy duty, chrome, beach chair so I can lay on it and listen to trance, etc.

^ This guy's got some lustful gear. The JD-XA seems to sound pretty good, when you've got many layers with modulation and the FX. Just wish that it had all the sounds from the Integra on it, and not just the synth sounds.

What chair?

Posted by farris on Aug-26-2015 12:58:

The chair in front of that couch and coffee table.

What couch and coffee.... ahhh, n/m

Posted by Mel David on Aug-26-2015 18:43:

Ok, apparently it's not a chair but a chaise.

Cough* Izzy Delphine & Gina Gerson *

Posted by tehlord on Aug-26-2015 21:11:

Had to buy a Rode PSA-1 and shock mount for the Procaster as I was getting too much boom from the other desktop stand.

This thing is oddly satisfying

Posted by evo8 on Aug-27-2015 04:07:

my new gear is a bit boring, just an ADA8000 expansion, in preparation for a Dominion 1....if i ever get around to buying one

Posted by cryophonik on Aug-27-2015 04:46:

I wasn't really planning on buying anything for a while, but then got a couple of unexpected surprises

Logic 10.2 with Alchemy included for free

and the FabFilter Pro-Cv2 upgrade.

Oh, and I just ordered a nice new Mojave MA-200.

White is such a bad colour for a couch. One mistake with a wine glass and it's done.

This depends. Technically, you're right, of course. However, if your couch cushions have removable covers, then white is the way to go.

"Why?" you say? Because you can just take off those covers, throw them in the washer with a bit of bleach, soak over night, and BANG. The whitest of white covers are now happening.

Easiest clean ever

As for the couch, I just got two of the office chairs from that exact collection. The white leather is teh sexy. Even better, I got em for free!
