Agreed Nukuez.

Some people on this board are very reluctant to share information when it comes to mp3z and file sharing. "Where to download sets/tracks?" is a legitimate question in my opinion and it's sad that there really isn't any exchange of information going on with this topic; just flames. To simply type "DC HUB" does not help people. Tranceaddict is a music community and mp3z/sets are an intergral part of music. I realize that the website tries to watch out for the RIAA but to simply provide info about this topic will not result in anything.

I say this ure right nuk because its wrong, hell it happened to me, i've been apart of this site much longer than my lil avatar heading says, but it happened to me, its sort of like a rite of passage in a way, but then again theres the point that these people are not contributing nething, all they want is a new cheese song that they can bump in there new mistubishi eclipse as they try to mimic that girl from the first commercial and i think we all agree that there is no place for those kinda people here i mean think about it half the people who start those threads get some info about the hub or the search or somehting and then we never hear from them again leechers are wat they are bloody leechers, but neway to curve my incescent rambling my point is this while someone is getting flamed i think its harmless fun a lil cruel but harmless fun and a rite to everyone but at the same time we are here to spread the word about the divine listening pleasure that trance has to offer, so in a sense some people should get off their high ass horse and come back here to reality, but hey wat r u gonna do. And in a way it actually teaches a lesson i knoe that now i never start a thread without searching first, and give some people a break if we could some how count all these threads that were started im sure it would be outrageous. So I mean some poeple are jus sick and tired of it and are tryin to curve the problemo

People ask for suggestions to convert their friends to trance, yet when new members come they get flamed. I bet if Starfox posted a 'favorite track' thread then he'd get 50 replies, but if someone new did that they'd get 25 flames.

I'd flame any favourite track thread f0x makes, just out of principle

Posted by Dave_Masters on Oct-28-2002 13:19:

I agree with Cyberwoo. If all they want TA for is mp3's then they deserve a little flaming lol.

Also, yeh they are new, but it doesnt take too much brainpower to do a search... does it?

Another also.... the threads should be deleted by a mod straight away to save ppl wasting their time reading it, or adding pointless flames.

I would say some members can be, but they soon get pushed out usually, this is not elitist compared to other forums, i think it is pretty good actually

Posted by Ian on Oct-28-2002 17:01:

I think maybe there needs to be a thing that states before posting a new thread, to make sure u've searched, if they ignore this then yes they deserve a flame or two, but only if they ignore warnings about it.

the other thing about elitism, I don't really see, a lot of ppl are like it and i can see how you'd get it, but a lot of it is like usa vs uk vs ca etc, more ppl of the same nationalities joining together for flames, I think that there are certain sections of who will remain unnamed, but most ukta goers will know who I mean, who if u don't agree with them, they cry & flame you and I do think that maybe that needs to be dealt with a bit more harshly, but apart from that, I think we just gotta welcome newbies, and as dave said, theres no point welcoming ppl who just wanna leech swampers bandwith, we need ppl who're gonna join in.

end of my say

Posted by Anniewayz on Oct-28-2002 19:22:

I think all you "elitists" should get off your high horse. I spent 3 months lurking in the damn forum before I actually signed up to contribute, for fear of getting flamed. C'mon people. How many discussion boards out there are actually as good or better than this one? Not many. Most of them are people just flaming each other and that gets annoying and childish. If you don't like the question then don't read or contribute to it. You're wasting your time and others times because no one likes reading that shit.

Posted by Elmonograsa on Oct-28-2002 20:08:

The mere fact that people discuss like I commited some personal affront to them is mind boggling.

Posted by Spad on Oct-29-2002 01:19:

Stop stirring up shit J. There's been a million threads moaning about assholes on here, use the fucking search facility.

At least we talk about music in here.

I joined a local area forum thinking, 'cool, people in my area that have the same interest.' They hardly talk about music at all.

Posted by plastikE on Oct-29-2002 03:46:

hahahah omfg....

you people take these forums wayyyyyyyyy to fuckin seriously...how about in 10 minutes EVERYONE who is on the forums step away from their computer screens for once and actually make REAL human interaction.

True, but it's exactly those kind of forums that end up losing members over time, and eventually dying.

When your forums are full of pompous pricks new people don't tend to join up in record numbers for some reason.

I'd also push the very simple concept of not clicking threads that you don't want to read, n00bs generally aren't slyly titleing posts deceptively or anything like that, if you don't want to read the nine millionth "Favourite Track of the Year" post, simply don't go into it, and save yourself some stress, and the forum another pointless flame.

There're better ways of upping your post count than by attacking new members who don't know any better...

the case is more that since AG went down these questions get asked so much it clogs up the forums with pointless crap, imagine lots of peopel asking yo uthe same question over and over again when theres a signpost with the information on they need on the other side of the room...

i aint stirring, i just think its shit that noobs get treated like shit for being uneducated or unfamiliar with the boards features.

I think everythings been sed that needs to be sed, Cyberwoo came up with the best idea.

put up a notice of sum sort for noobs to tell them to use the search button or whatever, elitists, dont be so mean to the noobs.

it dosnt effect me cos i dont get flamed, i just think its common courtesy to be nice to people unless they are being dickheads,

as far as im concerned, this thread is finished, just take notice of whats been said, thats all, i didnt want this to be an argument......

peace

Posted by Luke Terry on Oct-29-2002 14:55:

Cool

there is a newbie/faq forum which they seriously should use because they are less likely to get flamed there for being n00b2, but some ppl just wanna have a go to bump up their own post count, and generally whatever the first few replies to a thread are, the rest will follow suit, sad really.

Ditto. I don't think they should be flamed for asking something relatively innocent, but they should definitely be warned bfore they sign up. Also I don't think it's nice to totally rip the fuck out of someone on their first post, but if it's just pokin' a bit of fun, nothing offensive (like JPloveparade sed) then what's the harm in that? For me half the fun of the forums is to talk about music and half of it is about having a laugh. Totally agree with cyberwoo too. cheers.

i totally agree with that, if u do not have anything worth while to contribute, then just don't bother.

I hate reading thru pages of abuse and i hate even more to have to sift thru those threads and delete the crap.
i remember one thread not so long ago that sprung up while i was moving.
when i got back online it was about 10 pages long, when i had been thru it and deleted all the lame stupid abuse out of it it was 3 pages shorter . . .
