I'd love to hear a recording of Sasha's set. He played some GREAT tracks.

Nah. It just gets complicated for us to head down. Finding a baby sitter n shit. Plus I drink too much booze and that shit fucking adds up when I'm spending so much at the bar.

I say that this was our last one but if they brought John Digweed, or Dixon again we'd probably make it down. Overall though, I think we've done Crssd Festival and it times for something different. Another adventure.

SD is cool though. At least that side of town. Nice and clean. There was a kids museum that we were able to bring our daughter to during the day. Kept her occupied during the day while mommy and daddy nursed some hangovers.

Thats what I figured. A culmination of things, not just one thing specifically made you over it.

I might join you with a social media hiatus, starting to realize how much time I'm wasting. I spend to much time on it, while I could be doing something else productive with that time.

dude... it's great. Even just a little time off is great. It's been over 6 months for me now. I do catch myself looking at Gina's IG page to see what people are doing. Then I start getting of jealous of people who are traveling the world or partying. Then I have to remind myself that's why I got off social yo.

Yeah I have been looking into it a lot already the last couple weeks, just haven't had the balls to deactivate anything yet.

I always get sucked into social media rabbit holes in the morning before bed or at night before bed. I log on to fb or insta and next thing you know I blew 2hrs I could have been doing homework or something productive.

I might just delete the apps on my phone to start and just use social media on my desktop and limit my time on it.

Starting to to relate to this more and more:

Don't believe the IG hype. I know people who have this fan fucking tastic life on IG, look like total globe trotting players but really they take one trip a year and work in a cubicle to pay for it. Even Billzarian's life is completely staged and he's paying those girls to hang around with him to make it all seem fabulous.

I know what you mean by the IG hype. Hot young chicks are the same way, yet they are broke and drive a busted up corolla that they couldn't get fixed after the accident because they were to broke to pay for full coverage. Yet on insta they are like 100k deep with followers. It's an illusion.

As far as Bilzerian, I see your point of him paying chicks and I'm sure he does. But not all of them, I know a hand full of thots that have hung out with him and didn't get paid or anything (I asked). They were just excited to hang with the dude because of all the hype around him, well they looked excited in the pictures they posted on facebook.

along with seeing pictures i was also getting tired of the stupid posts people (my friends) were making. I love em all but JESUS! it was driving me crazy. I admit, I was one of them... constantly talking about burritos and getting fucked up at parties. But it was getting depressing for me. So i decided to get off. First, I deleted the apps. I then said fuck it and just deleted the accounts after.

Facebook has become real bad when you look at how it's used versus how it used to be used. One example: you used to be able to scroll through the news feed and you would get actual posts from your actual, real friends. Now all you get are meme reshares from mentally unstable people and, of course, ads.

I've found a way to make it work for me, but it may not work for everyone. In my opinion:
1) don't use the news feed at all.

2) use the "close" friend feature to your advantage so you can follow people who A) don't post garbage at all (i.e. original content), and B) who use it as an actual social space, so you can follow these people's updates and be somewhat up to date with their lives. The close friend feature works by marking friends who you want to receive direct notifications for. Personally, I sort by friends who 1) post original content or statuses, 2) whom I interact with/and who interacts with me, in real life, regularly 3) friends I know very well who have moved far away and are much harder to keep in contact with

Do you have a friend who shares memes 10 times a day and never actually posts about their life? boom, hidden completely.

3) use the groups feature, events, and group chats to keep friendgroups together and communicating

Facebook isn't going to be useful for everyone, nor is it useful for keeping up to date with *all* of your friends (see above), but it can be useful if you utilize the features and filter out people who don't really use the platform the way, IMO, it should be used.

Might not be worth the effort, but that's my $0.02 facebook opinion :-) I go on facebook several times a day to chat with people or see updates, but I never spend more than 2-3 minutes at a time. I think if you're spending a 2 hour block of time on facebook, you should delete it. that isn't healthy

IG is garbage for a lot of obvious reasons. It is a magnet for narcissists of various levels, which has been shown via studies and surveys. The lives you 'see' on there are a facade, as stated by someone else, an illusion.

hey wait, wasnt this a thread about a music festival...?
