Wtf am I supposed to get the music I want to pay for. I will get a 12" copy hopefully sometime soon but it shouldn't be strange in 20 fucking 18 to want to get a high-quality digital copy...

Most of the labels from back in the day are defunct now and/or the people/artists than ran them are in a different phase of their life or music career now and have no interest or drive to spend lots of time re-issuing their music from 15-20 years ago.

Posted by Midlothian on May-18-2018 17:24:

That may well be the case for many of the labels from back in the day (where are you Fluid, Fire...), but some people clearly had sufficient interest and drive to re-issue and re-release the System F/Gouryella etc. materials on Flashback/Flashover Recordings. Labels such as Black Hole Recordings have their back catalogues up too haven't they? It does seem awkward to me that the catalogue of one of the foremost melodic/uplifting/whatever trance labels from that time is basically deleted.

Stress Records starting putting stuff out a month ago. Stumbled upon it when searching for, Universal State of Mind - All Because Of You (Sunday Club Remix)

I wonder who owns those rights now. Dave Seaman is pretty active on Facebook and yet I haven't seen him mention this development, so presumably it's no longer under his control.

"Formerly owned and run by DJ/producer Dave Seaman, now owned and run by Tony Prince, Christine Prince and Susan McLintock at DMC Ltd"

Yeah, it's now owned by these people:

Sent an email last week to DMC requesting they re-release Sunday Club - Etarna's Flight.
Let alone all of their releases.

Which breed of cruel bastard re-releases Indica but not the B-side, Purple Kush? I love that tune.

That's Fluid Recordings
But who knows, another miracle might happen.

Has anyone talked to Barry Jamieson about who owns the rights to Fluid's catalogue now?

I think he/they/Evolution still own the rights because he cropped up on Steve Parry's FB once saying he meant to digitise it all but could never find time what with family life and everything that goes with it. Someone should give him another friendly nudge now that free time is in superabundance for most of us.

'I went on to ask if we will ever see some of the tracks re-released and remastered? It is something that may happen soon hopefully. I am asked so much about the Fluid back catalogue. The way the progressive house scene is right now, it would make sense to put this back out there again. I will have some more news on this later in the year." '

Barry Jamieson just under a year ago in an interview at

Well someone go on and email him, then

Nice

Posted by Midlothian on Apr-18-2020 12:37:

Jamez's label Rough Cut Records (re)released some interesting stuff recently, including

MRE - The Deep Edge with Jamez and Tatoine remixes,

Tatoine - Summerwind with a Fortress remix I don't think I've seen before,

and a bunch of compilations with the good stuff (Jamez, Fortress, Lemonsoul, Tetraflux, MRE, etc.).

I don't see a digital release of Jamez/Tatoine - Music though, sadly.

Anyway, in case anyone is interested and hadn't noticed yet.

Posted by Lews on Apr-18-2020 13:47:

The exclusion of Music is odd because it WAS digitally available, once. I bought it on Beatport years ago, sometime around 2009.

That Tatoine remix of The Deep Edge is nice. Shame the B side of the original release hasn't been put up, though.

The original version of Music is available on the Paul Oakenfold Everest Basecamp compilation: http://classic.beatport.com/track/m...al-mix/10281459

Ah, thanks. That one didn't come up when I searched on BP.
