How so?

and just because you "I don't like his music" doesn't count (and FYI: I think his music sucks)

I think he's trying to say he wasn't a "pioneer" as is being banded around. Again, it's a little shitty to have this discussion but I'd love to know what Avicii actually pioneered? Did he make some girls who were previously in to top 40 hip hop notice dance music becuase he was able to make accessible sing/hum along EDM? OK, sure, but it's not really pioneering anything musically or even culturally.

You say pioneer (and apart from shitty mixers and nice CDJ's) and I think Marshall Jefferson or Slam or Little Louis Vega or carl Cox or Sven Vath or PvD or Hippe and Halo or Keri Chandler or Danny Rampling or Oakenfold. Shit even Tiesto or Chemical Bros or underworld...but I can't with a straight face say Avicii.

Were La Bouche or The Real McCoy or Eiffel 65 pioneers?

Or did they just have a couple of dance hits when euro-dance was big in the US?

Avicii was the same.

To me he also was nothing more than the 2Unlimited or Culture Beat of this time.

The Torsten Fenslau of this time? (dance-pop hits, tragic death in late 20s...)

A bit I suppose, but didn't he die in a freak accident?

Yep, car accident.

Music wise, as I didn't mention Torsten on purpose.
