Of corse thats true!

But the market aims at the easyness, the lazyness, the sit on your ass all of your life products. No wonder this thing is being ordered like candy.

I believe you guys fail to see the point.

The Segway is not just another scooter for kids to do stunts with... its a next step in human evolution.

i think you fail to see anything beyond the ridiculous amount of hype that surrounds the segway... next step in human evolution?! ... ok ... that statement doesn't even make sense, human evolution is the evolution of humans as a species... but i understand what you're trying to get at, that the segway is a great advancement for mankind... the combustion engine was, the aeroplane was, the segway is not...

it will be beneficial for various industries, i.e. manufacturing, anywhere that people need to move around quickly in a relatively small space (ex. a warehouse)... and there are other applications, such as postal workers/mail delivery, but overall there are very few applications that are practical...

but the segway is pretty much useless in terms of use by the general public... these things are not practical for roads or sidewalks, a city would basically have to redesign itself before wide range use of the segway would be possible... and do you think that will happen? get real! i could write an essay on this, but i really don't want to waste any more time talking about the already over-hyped segway...

it's definitely an interesting invention, but it falls under "cool gadget" inventions, not "life changing" inventions...

These arguments are pointless at this point.

It will take years before we'll know whether it's a life changing invention or not. Any speculations are pointless at this point, as there were quite a lot of life changing inventions that weren't recognized as such when they were just invented(internet is a great example)

One thing is for sure though - this invention will make life a lot easier for certain groups and certain types of jobs.

Yeah, but when you live in Scarberia like myself, using your feet to get somewhere around here is more like a suicidal attempt...
