what the fuck, people? you all disappoint me. it's like some evil dr. evil switched almost every single person who posted here to a trance-hating bloke.

i don't know about you, but all this smells hypocritical to me. you, people, are dissing tunes that are nominated for the best song of the year in the other thread...

first there are a total of 1,000,000 threads praising southern sun, ligaya, and all of the other tracks; now there's this single thread dissing them all... i'm surprised...

Ligaya - not because it's a bad song, no not by any means, but because the other Gouryella tracks are a lot better. The Airbase remix is money though!

Bunkka - well, this album seals Oakey's fate, I liked Ready Steady Go, Southern Sun was OK but the Tiesto remix KILLS the original, and the rest of the album was just weak...

Sasha and Junkie XL - Beauty Never Fades - what's up with this track, I just d/led it today and it is RUBBISH! I expect a million times more out of these guys!

I thought Solar Coaster was great. Ligaya was garbage and i agree all S & G productions this year and Sunburn wasnt all that great. Punk at first it was good but then i soon began to realise it wasnt all that.

punk = good, unique tune. Too many predictable tracks made these days

In general, Id say all of 2002 was dissapointing... I was hoping we could swing back to more of the late 2000/early 2001 tech-edgy sound, or even better, back towards the classic sound, but we've only sunk deeper into the pit that is todays trance... ugh

i thought there were just as many threads bagging ligaya and southern sun as there were praising them!

i would choose ligaya.
i havent heard it live but apparantley jules or armin span it at godskitchen but i didnt recognise it if they did!
i think really im just putting it down(as my choice) because a lot of people talk about gouryella like they were mythical legendary producers or something, and this track was hyped so much, when i heard it i thought 'wtf?'
im not saying i hate it, i just dont find it spectacularly good.

the whole genre of epic trance/melodic..

the whole melodic riff and layout of every epic track has lost its whole fuckin luster its utter shit now no creativity UTTER FUCKIN CHEEZE ..trance people like it was in 99 is over ..and people have to deal with it and not fucking ride on that train thinking its the same shit its not.... every damn melody has been played over and over again .,...the lack of production is so predominate now that i cant even enjoy it anymore it sucks..i used to love it but its time for newer and better things...this year progressive has really tore it up for me really brought me to a new level more intelligent level ..... but all those tracks that came out well EPIC IS DEAD ...and progressive changing more from the tribal/deep/dark into the more melodic progressive house...which will take us back to the old trance and the trance that people gave respect trance that wasnt full of cheeze... it will come we will see .. time will come soon where all these younsters and newbies listening to trance see why sasha is a legend and why the real trance is hidden behind his sets turning back into more melodic progressive house ..old school trance almost .... ANTHEM TRANCE IS OVER FOR GOOD R.I.P it really had some great times with it but definatly has to go now ..its getting old and past due!

Jurgen Vries - The Theme -> pure cheese, how can anyone say this is tune of year is beyond me
