Are you guys talking about that broad in the red vinyl dress that occasionally terrorizes guv. She actually lives in England and promotes for the big clubs out there so she says. I hope she goes back to England because her voice that carries through guv is a huge BK.

Allrighty

Got there at 11:00pm didnt even get in till 11:39 then Coat Check sucked ass. Sorry I didnt meet up with you Mecha and everyone but FUCK ME WAS IT EVER PACKED IN THERE!! I hate that. Got to our usual spot to find it had been taken over by the 40 year old head spinning asians. Do they even know what they look like when they swing there heads from side to side and bump into everyone, not saying sorry or anything. God I swear to god I almost lost it. I hate those people grow up and go home to your families.
Anyways enough about that. Got to my crew and happy faces were all around. Start of the set was a little mellow, but then picked up. No Progressive Trance at all!!! All Progressive house baby!! Im not sure if anyone else noticed..was the bass a little to high? Anyways grooved in my little space while getting bumped from every angle by people who just walk around, and around. I also brought my roomate who has never been to a party before, he had a good time minus the people.
Tune wise! WOW!!!! Amazing tracks, wicked Vocal tunes as well. This will be an amazing CD. I too got one of the posters, and even a picture. that (Phil K - My House Is Your House ) track set me off and that is when I think the they let loose. This was also the very first night I chose to do it sober (No pills) Kind of glad I did as I think I would have went nuts being so enclosed. But then I found a lot more shit bothered me. I ended up leaving at 4:30 to wicked tracks still but just couldnt handle it anymore.
Again sorry to MEcha and the gang for not making it there. I hope you understand and we will meet up soon.
Progressive Kicks Ass.!!

Hm.. I was talking about a guy who was wearing a red spiky wig and was constantly shouting and whistling... some whistling is nice, but when it's overdone - it gets SOOOOOOOO annoying.. and that guy was totally overdoing it !

As soon as he put that whistle in his mouth I told him get lost. He said he whould whistle upwards. I seriously wanted to knock him out too. NA NA NA NA

Posted by morsy on Dec-09-2002 17:24:

why didnt u just slap the hell out of him but anyways the trick is to go to the security and tell them something like .. this guy was trying to mug us or something and the rest is up to them hehehe they will fuck him up and u wont see him again in the club

hahh I saw that guy all fucking night. I should of known he wasn't from Toronto, something about him was out of place.

Durafei at first glance I thought you were talking about 'Screaming Gina' that crazy looking transvestite. Ask Nat about her/him. haha Hilarious.

I got ID on another track they played, its called Stereo movers (MV Mix). It was in Max Graham's proton set, incredible track and sure to be on the comp (according to Max).

Margs, I doubt Eminem will even care. I think all of his fights are all marketing scams anyways. But does he even know who Deep Dish is? And it's not their track, it's someone else.

Posted by jon jon on Dec-09-2002 18:44:

-STD Nobody Listens to Techno
-Depeche Mode Only When I Lose Myself (Lexicon Avenue Remix)
-Coldplay Clocks (Deep Dish Edit)
-Luzon Manila Sunrise (Markus Schulz United Light Remix)

I think he would get word of it but yeah you are right, the fights are just marketing scams. But so many people fall for those scams. "Gee, I wonder who Eminem will pick on next, I have to get his new CD."

Speaking of new CDs to get, I can't wait to get this GU CD. Where can u buy GU CDs? Are they sold just in regular CD stores?

Posted by jon jon on Dec-09-2002 19:55:

Yep. HMV / Music World whatever. This one doesn't come out until March. hahah Hard to believe how new some of those records were. Coming up next is...

GU 24 Nick Warren - Iceland? (I forget already) January
GU 25 Deep Dish - Toronto - March

Hey, MG, you gotta put some names to pics if you are gonna post them! Only of the TA's of course.

The lazer picture shows that you guys were right behind us. It was soo packed you couldn't look around and see anything.
So if Deep Dish remixed that part of the song are they going to be the next target for Eminem? Obviously, if I was Eminem I would take that as a diss.

my bad StereoPrincess well the only TAs in those pics were Blue neon and I (with the jersy)

Since were all bitching about the screamers there is one more we have to add. Its been going on for too long. shes a skinny oriental woman who screams..ONE MORE, ONE MORE, ONE MORE, ONE MORE, ONE MOOOOOOOOORRRRE. Its a really high pitched voice. She usually starts some time after 4am.

At ornadel i finally found her near the front. Since we were all wacked my friends couldnt tell if she was a man. Stupid me goes up to her and tried taking her sunglasses off. Not being so coherant i accidentally poked her in the face and she did some kung fu block and started swearing. I seriously thought that i was gonna get punched out. LOL

shes gotta go too.

track ID

- "I feel like I wanna be...inside of you...when the sun goes down" is the new Cassius single "Sound of Violence". It's off the new album "Au Reve".

Cassius played this when they were here & I went CRAZY for it.

Posted by Arcticboy on Dec-10-2002 02:28:

Damn, I'm so jealous! You guys are all so damn lucky!! Description of the music sounds like it was right down my alley and the night going so late would have satisfied me for a change.....except that the frustration of hearing great tracks with no room to dance might have driven me nuts....

You guys appreciate T.O. while you're there, you don't know how good you have it.

Posted by trancearmada on Dec-10-2002 02:32:

damn I am stil pissed that I could not make it out to see Deep Dish, and yet I miss them again!

You have to be kidding. I've seen that record everywhere. Here I was thinking it was some crazy track that I wouldn't see come out for years. pff hahah Cheers for the I.D.

Posted by Jazz on Dec-10-2002 07:23:

now that was a fucking party... A+ without a doubt... the guv.crowd was less annoying than usual which was a nice surprise, but the music was just too good for me to really care about the crowd anyway...

got in right as deep dish stepped up... they then proceeded to destroy the dance floor for the next 6 hours... i've heard deep dish twice before, and they were good both times, but this was in a different league... truly a legendary performance...

track selection was stellar, mixing was good, and they kept the energy flowing throughout their whole set... highlight trax of the night for me:

Nobody listens to Techno
Coldplay clocks
Xpress 2 Music rmx
My house is your house

if you missed the GU Toronto party, you have my utmost sympathy because you missed one of the truly great ones...
