no, not really.

Spyke hit it on the head...the vette would be a deathtrap at that speed.

im not against fast cars, but i dont need a fast car that goes that fast on the street - its stupid, and it would suck to drive around town.

and Supercars.net sucks so i wont bother fixing your link|

"supercars" vettes and all other faster cars or of course dangerours and @ 220+mph if you carsh your probably going to die, its not likely that your gonna reach those speeds on a city street anyways, and besides why would you want to ? i'd like to have a car that fast just for bragging rights, it can do the speed but yo dont ahve to prove it, the kinda car you need is a...hmm.... subaru.... wrx.... i've drive one of those in the city and they handle pretty nice since they are awd and you can get tubro on em so 200kmph in a city isnt to bad for a car.

Haha, 3.8, I think you're dreaming. They do about a 4.5 or so. With low 13sec 1/4 mile times. That's with a good driver too. I know this because I have raced C5s before.

Posted by whiskers on Dec-10-2002 04:17:

guys, do you even realize that a lambo costs >500,000 us greenbacks and that the insurance and the gas will probably take all of your money, so eventually you'd have to sleep in the car?

So was this one street legal? Probably not.

Posted by whiskers on Dec-10-2002 04:45:

oh, btw, what would be your MPG @ 250 mph in a lambo???

you'd prolly have to have a fuel truck or a portable gas station to follow you wherever you go

Posted by Excite on Dec-10-2002 04:53:

$273,000 USD/Euro is the sticker price and 10 mpg the fuel economy to be exact..if u were filthy rich then why the hell would u care?

Posted by Rostros on Dec-10-2002 13:10:

3.5 seconds , thats too fast man , unless you on le Mans , here in the uk we have speed limits like 30 mph on main street , so unless you have great pacience , your gonan get busted.

I DO race cars and while his info is a little off its still close.
The car the is a 1988 Cheverolet Corvette modified buy Reeves Calloway and assisted by John Lingenfelter
The car is a twin turbo 355 cu/in smallblock. the car went 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds and had a top speed of 254 mph. Remember this was 15 years ago. but unfortunatly only 1 car was made it was street legal but Reeves deemed it too dangerous to sell

Yeah, I couldn't remember the exact specs of that vette, but I knew it's the fastest vette. By the way, all of Lingenfelter's and Calloway's cars are street legal. Most of them are driving around in California where emissions are very strict.

speed means NOTHING without handling....remember that...Lamborghinis have terrible suspensions....best suspensions in a stock car are in Audi's and Porsches.....

my ride may not be fast....but it will smoke that Lambo in the slalom

This post is full of bullshit, some is real, but it's hard to figure it all out.
We are all picking random bits of information from everywhere, is there n e one out there that would know exactly how the Lambo holds it's speed while cornering? Am i correct in saying it's more to do with the dif than the suspension?

no a Lamborghini is bought for the NAME,...it is a joke to REAL car enthusiats that buy Ferraris/Porsches/McClarens etc....the handling has always been sloppy even dating back to the Countach and Jalpha....

It is poorly made...apart from the carbon fiber body....its for people like Puff Daddy to buy to say he has a LAMBORGHINI.....

Dude, please take a step back away from the crack pipe. A Lambroghini can't handle??? They pull almost 1.0Gs on te skid pad I know for a fact that would whoop up on your civic. Gezzz, what are you thinking. Your civic can maybe do a high .80s low .90s on the skid pad. I would like to see your car pull anything worthwhile on the skid. You haven't even tried yet, so how can you determine your civic is better?? And the most important issue, you have never driven a Lambroghini. Just because you car is lowered doesny mean crap. You still probably have all stock A-Arms on the thing. And are still running stock unsprung weight, if not more. Don't take this personal in any way, I'm just stating my point. So don't get all pissed off when you read this.

sorry pal...my entire suspension was reworked down to the last fork, pro-arm, bushing, and tie-rod....i have out cornered a Porsche 996 ...and i KNOW suspensions....being low means NOTHING...i am not dumb....but dont say anything to me about suspensions...my suspension was built for cornering and the track....last month i raced it at Lime Rock in Connecticut for 10 test laps....so thanks but no thanks...

Posted by Trickle on Dec-10-2002 23:03:

So thanks but no thanks eh. Well, since you've raced it, lets hear the times. Also, when did I ever say you were an idiot? When I see you our perform a Lambroghini, then I'll believe you. That would be like me saying that my camaro can beat a viper, just because that's what I think. I could go on and on about numbers, but the real deal is what counts. I'm sure you know that.

Posted by SpykeChyld on Dec-10-2002 23:13:

Yes, a Lambo is a status symbol, BUT damn the specs on it are insane! I mean when a car can pull a G on the skidpad(which the new Lambs have been tested at) its called nice handling. The Lambs of the past have been known for bad handling but how many modelse we talkin about here compared to how many models of a Corvette there are, not to mention Chevy!

And if you have the money for a Lamb then you are not very worried about fuel economy, dumbasses! I live in a 200 dolla /month apt. I'm not gonna go buy a friggin lamb! It's speculatory! Not a damn one of us could afford it, we know it, thats why its called our friggin DREAM CAR!

And putting an aftermarket against a production is ridiculous anyway. I mean, you could always give the Lamb to Calloway and see what they come up with!

a Camaro beating a Viper is not that hard to do with the right mods....

and if i can out corner a Porsche 996...which i have done....then i am sure me and the Lambo would be a nice competition on the turns.

Posted by biznology on Dec-10-2002 23:20:

well tiesto14, you also said something about Audis and Porsches having the best suspensions on the street - remember this isnt your bargain bin Lambo of yore, this is an Audi Lambo|

The Lamborghini company is owned by Audi AG! that is what i meant by best in Italian and German auto design and engineering. they have made the car much more user friendly than the Diablo which was an improvent on the Countach.

and your car is ugly!
