if i were' togo it'd b for that reason only.. + lazerz.

cause i cant stand the locals. like nervous and co.

second the local thing hey!

i cant stand the nik fish's and jumping jacks....sorry to their fans hehe! but now i only pay for events if they have international dj's or its a friends bday or something!

the locals hear play alot of what I tend to describce acid-techno, no one here loves the epic stuff, just phatt phatt basslines and vocals which the devil is probably singing !lol

I agree with waxology. I really don't know any decent locals for Trance/Hard Trance (not including cheggy). I heard both Nik Fish's and Jumping Jacks 'hard trance' cds. They really were particularly boring. Not only that jumping jacks mixing in between tracks was particularly poor - loss of volume e.t.c. e.t.c.

The only local DJ's I know who play decent trance are:

Mark Dynamix - and he doesn't seem to play trance any more
Paul Goodyear - again he mainly plays trible house and when he does play trance it is only at gay events.

yeah it's a nice break and all... but if you listen to dumonde live @ trance energy 22-09-02 (who could forget the MC)... track selection wise there're not that much different to what you get at transmission/plastics/progress i think... maybe not as hard... and have more melodies...

the only style i haven't heard dumonde played are maybe acid... or whatever you call it... like tracid traxxx stuff...

What other venues / dates are there for dumonde??

I will be holidaying in the gold coast between the 9th and 16th of February and would love to see dumonde.

How far is sydney from surfers paradise?? How much would it cost to get their?? I dont want to spend $1000 trvelling to the gold coast for a week just seeing shitty clubs playing their shitty music!

Sydney is a loong way from the Gold Coast mate

It's about a 10 hour drive if you're desperate...

All i remember from that is Never Eat Soggy Weet-Bix.

Posted by Sid on Dec-16-2002 04:21:

yeah its a really long drive by the time you get to Sydney all you want to do is sleep !

Posted by webmeister on Dec-16-2002 10:13:

Dj bud has to be one of the most shocking dj's i've ever seen. Totally vintage cheddar on all accounts.

Other then that i'll be there i reckon. Never done transmission so i guess i may as well. It's hard to believe but it seems almost like the music scene is deteriorating even worse then it was. Almost all the stuff being played now is just hard nrg which has a time and place but not every club and not all bloody night

I've been so broke i haven't been able to afford Sweet FA so i had to miss Sasha even though he is God and i love his stuff.

the only thing i can see myself doing new years is maybe sounds on sunday as they have sister bliss (faithless) and the tix are only 45 smackos which suits me more and more that i think about it. Besides we have FA happening otherwise.

Posted by Philby on Dec-16-2002 14:18:

hmm
can someone explain the 'vs' thing?
is it like a fight, they smack each other up and the last man standing gets to dj?

or do they just take turns or something?

Posted by Romp on Dec-17-2002 01:57:

basically 2 djs at once and yea they do a track each

Transmission has very cool lasers too

Tranzmit if you are looking for something to do on NYE in Sydney, try altitude, uplifting trance.. went for the Christmas party and it was great
