| Originally posted by nennon Hey Fraggle.. Well, I think that Nelly Furtado is more meaningful than most MTV pop out there. She has some emotion behind her songs, and she is great live (I went to her concert about a month ago). No Doubt has been one of my favorite bands for a long time, and I've seen them live twice. If you can relate to heartbreak, love lost, and other similar feelings, No Doubt can make a pretty good soundtrack to your life. I used to like rock a lot more than I liked trance, but eventually, my tastes changed. I got into liking trance and laid back pop - David Bowie, Nelly Furtado, Dido, etc.. and I think this is where my tastes are going to stay. In many ways, trance is the ultimate music - it's inspiring (Dumonde - Never Look Back), epic (Paul Van Dyk), happy (Barthezz - On the Move) or sad (PPK - Ressurection). It covers every emotion and includes many other musical genres - Hip Hop, Pop, etc. Even if I'm not in the mood to dance or hear a good beat, I can always find a trance song that will affect my mood in a positive way. A lot of ambient stuff is really good.. |
Which part of the world does TRANCE come first? thats somthing i wanna know, i think in UK its like that cause when i was there last summer i hear evry1 bumpin trance
steveK
i do live near detroit...where electronic music was first started, but its a shame that people listen to rap wayyyyy more than trance. they want the "yo nigga i will pop yo ass foo" than they do the sweet melodies of trance music.
AIght.. right here in South FL, Trance and House are the most popular on this CLUBBING CITY.. and there's many clubs, wish means many clubbers, Miami has a population of a couple of millions, and out of those, there's a bunch of peeps that listen to D&B, Jungle << those are mostly Hip Hop ghetto peeps that like that type of electronic dance, some may like trance. BUt as I said, trance is very big and Mainstream here, but still I would classify it on this order
Pop/ alternative/ contemporany
Rap/Hip Hop / R&B
ROck
Trance/ House/ and electronic dance in general
Country
and everything else like Jazz...
Well, this is the order that I think it fits.. Madonna -- what it feels like for a girl is a trance song.. and is been getting # 1 requested for a while as I heard..
but still,. I dont listen to too much radio, im all into trance, so trance seems to me the general thing :-)
Up here in Detroit I can tell you that euro club trance (basically the $hite they play in clubs) are the biggest thing right now on the radio.
Alice Deejay, Paul Oakenfold, etc. etc.
hey, in Panama d xit goes like dis;
1.Reggea
2.Pop
3.Punk
4.Trance
5.Metal (about d same number as trance)
6.rap (not so much)
U want to know about the thing in Asia?
Im korean..And here's what we like..
Yes, some Koreans also dO like trancE..but really a few people..probably one out of 1,000 ?(-_-;
1 Hip hop & Rap(Korean kids r crazy about Hip hop)
2 Ballad (hell..-_-;
3.Dance (but not like trance or techno..there's very cheesy Korean style of dance music -_-;
4.R&B
5.Hard core / Rap metal
6.Alternative rock / Modern rock / Grunge
7.Brit pop
8.Heavy metal / death, thrash metal
9.TrancE
10.Techno
11.Drum & BAsE
12.House

In Morocco (young people of course) :
-1 pop (britney , n'sync etc ...)
-2 Rap/Hip Hop
-3 Rock/Punk/Heavy Metal
-4 Techno/Dance/House/Trance
1) POP - britney n stuff
2) HIP HOP - (not these Puff Daddy tracks coz this is POP to me)
3) TECHNO & DANCE - very commercial, lets say electronic tunes
*) COUNTRY&FOLK - cant figure out how many ppl listen to this coz got nothing to do with it

4) Trance isnt anywhere in Austria!!
coz hardly any ppl in austria know that there is something between Commecial tunes and techno!! they just say it is either or
