but hmm.. this topic has been mostly about 'nigga'. why not '******'? i really don't know what to think about these words. IMO, it wholly depends on where you live as... it seems... black people are 'differnet' around the world? While i don't have anything concrete about this.. one of my british teachers at our school did indeed say that black people from american vs. the ones in london are quite opposite; everything from morals, manner of speaking, etc. etc. He even went as far as saying that, in general, black people in america haev a lower work ethic compared to the british ones... hmmm...

and btw, i do use that word jokingly with my friends (i.e... "That nigga STOOPID... or.. Berey, take off yo hat, nigga)

A good friend of mine is a black dude who recently moved to the states from the UK, and it's definitely true from what I've seen.

Black comedians can make fun of white people like saying stuff like "You see white folks are always listening to that classical shit. Blasting it on their mini vans while taking they kids to soccer practice". Then people would laugh

White comedians cannot say things like this on black people. IF they say the same ting the black comedian above is saying like "You see black folks are always listening to that rap shit. Blasting it in their Cadillacs while taking their kids to the projects".

YOu see the difference. Whites are limited blacks are not. Im not white and i think black people are just way too emotional on things. Im not being racist but you have to admit that blacks are taking advantage of the white people not only in comedies but in other things cause they know they have the reputation and whites have to go easy on it. It's not fair really but oh well.

I felt this for a long time man You cant say squat about black ppl in the UK.

In school we used to have "blackboards" and the teachers would write on them with chalk. That was considered raciats (wtf) So they were changed... what are they called now?..whiteboards and are wrote on with marker pens!

people go way to far with this whole politically correct thing. the world is made up of too many differnt types of people...no matter what u say someone is going to be offended...people need to learn to just deal...

For example have you heard of a country called Nigeria?

These words all come from the Latin root "negr/nigr" which means "black." Even in French "black" is "noir", which is similar.

actually the defination of ****** is "a lazy and slothful person" so it does have a negative conotation

if you are just with your friends, go for it, shit i say it all the tiem, but around black people, i hold my tongue as not to get accidentally beaten down

The way that i heard it best explained is that when good ole whitey uses the word (or derivitives of the word) it is demeaning...however when a black person uses it...it becomes empowering to that person by removing the oppressive power that the word once held...if i were to say it...it could serve as a reminder of past oppression/control etc...if a black person says it is a reminder of the struggle against that oppression / control as is more like "eff off whitey!"...i couldn't really disagree...

Well...being black I fukkin hate the word...if someone called me that to my face in a serious manor I would take my bat to their head.
Sorry, if that was a bit violent,but I've had a cross burned in my yard so I'm really edgy about these things. My close friends toss nigga around once in awhile,but I know they mean no harm.
