I'll second the vote for PvD's Binary Finary remix, he completely reworked the production into a classic.

The PvD mix of Binary Finary was completely overhyped I think. Sure it was a good mix, but it was no classic and I much preffered the Dumonde and Gouryella mixes!

the best remix is for sure:

Cygnus X - Superstring (Rank 1 Remix)

just compare it with the original, that just completely sucks, but this is an awsome tune, still is, always gonna be one

definitely with you guys on aria - dido and airscape - l'esperanza. and kathy's song.
... the more recent saints & sinners remix of lucien foort's gemini
also. the conductor and the cowboy - feeling this way (solar stone remix)
and
velvet girl - velvet (chiller twist cosmosis mix)
oh yeah, moogwai - viola was an awesome track to begin with. i didnt even realize that the version on magik 6 was done by armin.
one more to piss off some of you (lest ye be judged)
fragma - everytime you need me (above and beyond mix)

Idea

The Peter Heller mix of "Southside" is amazing! He took an absolute crap song w/Gwen Stefani singing and made it a dark house/deep trance bomb. Check it out on Club Nation (Tall Paul CD) or Renaissance Desire.

Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb Remix)
Fatboy Slim - Star 69 (Timo Maas Remix)
U2 - New Years Dub (Ferry Corsten Remix)

K i thought i had posted but obviously not.. hennes and cold - the second trip the Dj scot project is a blinder and thankfully much better than the original which was weak to put it mildly.

Anyways peace

Yeah, lol.. that's true. I don't know why they do that... i thought of this the other day, and maybe they are doing it to get their tunes more published, since artists like the vengaboys sell helluva lot more than say transa

Can't think of another reason to make a new song and stick on another artists name on it, and make it a remix

Peace

I think it might be that the remixer is asked by the original artist to do a remix... if the remixer thinks the original song sucks, but wants the money, he'll remix it into his own style, as different as possible from the original

or maybe the remixer just thinks the tune has a great melody or bassline, and wants to spin it off into something else. i know there's a few tracks out there im just dying to rework.. broke down the chords and everything
but i lack the hardware

It is a classic. He was the first person to remix it. Pvd's remix spawned off soo many remixes. Dumonde & Gouryella only remixed it 2 yrs later.
