AMIGA!!!
Don't know if anyone else uses this old but sturdy computer system. I've got an Amiga 1200 with 68030 processor (50 MhZ) with a 68882 FPU and 16 MB of Fast RAM and various HD's and disk/CD-ROM drives. Oh, and it emulates Macs as well.

Apart from this, my one and true computerlove, I've also got a 300 MhZ AMD K6-II, 64 Mb, Voodoo II BeOS/Windows/Linux Box. And you know the funny thing is that "all this horsepower" goes only into gaming. Programming, reports for the university and other computer tasks are faithfully carried out by the Amiga. Bunch of programs running in perfect harmony without crashes...Ah the world was a wonderful place before Windoze took the lead.

Finally, the Amiga is also used for gaming. Where would I be without 2-player games like Kick Off 2, Speedball 2, StreetFighter II and things like Pinball Dreams, Superfrog and First Samurai...

Posted by wasmario on May-11-2001 10:26:

interesting that many ppl from canada or usa got 384 MB RAM!!

quite much i think!! i should either get another 256mb to upgrade, maybe after this my system gets more stable!?

Posted by DJ_Bod on May-11-2001 12:02:

333 MHz Processor (Cyrix I think)
20 GB Hard Drive
Inno3d Tornado Vid Card 32MB w/ GeForce2 chip
128 MB RAM
40x CD-ROM
16" Monitor
Windows 95 LOL

Thats all i can really say for my comp....
But heres the really funny thing listen to the computer that I have to use at work:
75MHz processor
14" monitor
like a 750 MB Hard drive
No sound card
some crappy video card, probably the same as Lynx
And its trying (emphasis on trying, cuz it hardly ever succeeds) to run Windows 98
Let me tell ya its a big pile of crap

Posted by krusader on May-11-2001 13:27:

aight well since im a big time nerd ill just list all the specs on my main pc... the other 3 in my room will just have to get mhz/ram

ok my main one goes like this:

cel 300a running at 450mhz
320mb pc133 ram
matrox marvel g200-tv 16mb
15.2gb 7200rpm ultra-ata66 hard drive (system drive)
40.0gb 5400rpm ultra-ata100 hard drive (storage... gotta put the mp3s some place
diamond monster sound mx300 (aureal chipset)
3com 3c905c-tx nic (gotta have mad speed on the lan
adaptec 2940uw ultra wide scsi controller
plextor ultraplex 40x (ultra wide scsi cdrom)
yamaha cdr400t 4x6 scsi
toshiba 12x scsi cdrom (good for rippin an extra cd)
runnin win2k pro

and hooked up to my pc right now i have acs340's and another altec lansing sub... needless to say... my room pounds if i want it to

i will be hooking up my 480watt shelf system to it once the receiver is done getting repaired

that system still cooks pretty nicely even though its mostly 2 years old

as for the other pc's in my room i have a p200mmx/80mb, p100/16mb, and a 386/25dx/4mb haha

I made my desktop mostly by myself with some help from my dad who set up the operating system, but I did weild the screwdriver and turn it on without it blowing up.
That ends the last crowning technical acheivement for my life.

Its a P3 733, nothing really fancy but it it quite fast for Q3 and CS, (both of which I no longer have the time to play)
128meg of ram, ABit Motherboard, Winfast Gforce1 with 32meg of DDR ram, 20.5G normal IDE-66 hard drive and a Quantum 4.3G SCSI 80pin hard drive (which is where the games live), network card and some creative sound card.
Probably not the fanciest PC around anymore but its run for the last 10 months without a single problem so I cant complain.

Apart from that I have a Dell P3 450 laptop that I watch DVD's on at work, I mean, while I work!
It cost a frightfull amount of money when I bought it.

Posted by wasmario on May-11-2001 15:00:

hah!! seeing many TAs with selfmade comps i get pretty ashamed of not being able to instal this 2nd HD!!

i did everything correct, when i put it at the place of my CD-Rom it works, but when i put the HD on the 2nd IDE place and the cd-rom at the end it doesnt and there shouldnt either be a problem with the master slaves and so one...

ahhhh... i dunno!!!

l8rz

*going for another try of managing this problem*
