I see that your love for Tiesto runs deep...

I guess we should all bash on Tiesto some more because he's being a nice guy and willing to help an artist get off the ground and start their carreer. I swear the man can do nothing right for you people; your indiscriminate close-minded hate of the artist is just sickening at times.

Sorry for the rant, that's not what this thread is for. I hope one of our very own TA's can catch Tiesto's ear. Good luck to any TA's who try out!

You forget that tiesto's audience has changed and just like oakie he is now the #1 & that pop stars are throwing $ @ him cause he is hot to remix their tunes. I bet he's having a laff while sleeping on his bags of money and thinking how easy is this.

Maybe he realized that there are a lot of unsigned people with great talent, espeically over here on TA. There's some great songs being released all the time here.

Re: tiesto looking for new talent

am i the only person to find the title of this thread to be extremely ironic & funny?

i add another WTF to that pop & house comment

Posted by Greedy on Jan-21-2003 10:23:

about pop and house. . . . .it doesnt matter what type of song it is really. Tiesto remixed a sarah mclachlan song and made a tunage out of it. I wouldnt expect tiesto to just stick with trance for the rest of his life. I honestly feel that trance music as a whole is getting pretty boring lately. I for one thing stopped buying new trance reoords and just buy tech house material and that is what most djs such as tiesto is spinning anyways with trance. Give tiesto a break for trying out new areas, there will always be other great trance djs to take tiestos spot.
As far as the bashing, ive never seen one dj rack in SOOO many hot babes at a show in my life. Give the guy a break, even though he wears gay tight shirts, he still pulls in sickening amounts of money and gorgeous babes. I respect the man because you cant forget the time and effort he put in to get himself to where he is today . . . even though he still trainwrecks sometimes.

The winner of teh Tiesto award stands no chance of being better than this unsigned act. No chance at all.

Actually the original is better, it has more feeling to it. It's a pity Delerium went way downhill after that album though.

Ok, I manage 6 Trance Producers from around the world. I have to say I've been in contact with Tiesto's label Blackhole Recordings many times and they have been nothing but, nice to me and my artist.

I will agree that seeing POP and HOUSE is a bit strange but, POP sells so maybe Tiesto has another Idea behind all this maybe he's looking to sign a mainstream artist that he can push world wide and get radio play for in the United States and elsewhere. I mean I'm constantly being told by A&R's from labels that they want Vocal Trance Tracks because labels see that as easy money and they will also get on Radio Charts. Most true Trance Producers don't really work all that much with Vocals so Producers are really forced to bend there idea's and talents to fit what a label wants. Most artist will do it but, there heart isn't into it. When i hear the world "POP" I think of Radio Friendly which is the labels way of saying we want to make money off of you.

I have some unreleased remixes that one of my artist has been working on for a label here in the US. We are not allowed to post them because of Copyrights we own the beats but we don't own the vocals. I mean if you e-mail me I can send you a clip of it or maybe the whole track. [email protected]

god tiesto....i remember back in the day when you used to be so...well...cool

Posted by rez on Jan-21-2003 21:35:

geeez, hes just trying to help

after all tiesto himself used to clean toilets after those massive parties. and look where he is today, hes just trying to give somebody the success they deserve without having to go through half the shit he went through

no need for tiesto bashing, afterall he still is one of the best dj's ever to bless this god green planet.

Here comes the hijacking into a hate Tiesto thread!

I laughed so hard when I read the title of the thread the wrong way

I spent 10 minutes of my life looking at that

no, it's the downright truth. If you look at 1998,1999 and 2000, his mixing was better, he did not trainwreck as often and his track selection was much better and now his mixing is worse than before. I see a progression.

NO,NO, and NO. Tiesto was broadcasted more than those three years combined last year alone, and of course his vulnerability is gonna be exposed more oftenly. I've seen him spin about 7 times in the last 3 years and I think that his style has been progressively getting better and more sophisticated over the years. OK we all know that you didn't like his set in Toronto and that his Innercity set was not the finest.

But the mixing in Impulz 2002 is not any worse than his mixing in Energy2000.

The mixing in Dutch Dimension 02-02-02 is even better than his Sensation 2000 set.

Not to talk about the genius track selections in both of those sets. And the track placement, the contrasts he does, and all the nuances in those two sets are that of a much more mature dj than the early Tiesto. He took risks, and they worked and influenced the discourse that trance is taking right now. As much as you all love Armin, he doesn't come even close in having the artistic depht that Tiesto has today, because Armin stuck with the formula that has proven to work quite well, while Tiesto continuously challenges the concept of what his sound should be over the years. Those, my friend, are the signs of a true artist who naturally evolves not with what the people want, but with what he thinks as relevant.

YES, there are horrible mixing flaws in some of his recent sets but those are the exception rather than the rule. Listen to the set he did tonight in Dance Department, quite impressive if you ask me.

Posted by NiteKiD on Jan-22-2003 11:43:

what do his present mixing skills have to do with this charitable act? its so hard to find a thread concerning this guy without some irrelevant comments downplaying his efforts..
