Sure Innercity wasn't great but the couple of Global Broadcasts from before were mixed quite well. Every dj has his good and bad days, let him be.

Tiesto is not where he is because of his "connections" or because of Silence or some bullshit like that. He is where he is because since Forbidden Paradise 3 he has distinguished himself from the rest with his special (magikal) touch that sets him apart from the rest. No one can do what Tiesto does better than him. No one else in this world would have selected the tracks in Innercity 99 that he did and blended them together the way he did. No other dj could have built the amount of energy that he managed to achieve in Energy 2000. Even last year, his DD and Impulz sets made it for me more than any other set last year. Tiesto is Tiesto, if you don't like him whether because you don't like his fashion sense or his mixing or track selection/placement, then don't tune in. But he's not replaceable for my own personal taste and if you can't respect that I won't lose any sleep over it.

Did I ever say that I disliked him? No.

Looks like you're the shit head. Grow up.

See previous post.

(minus the insult)

Trance is changing and some people may not like it which is fine. I love a lot of tracks being released these days. Sure they're not as good the old uplifting stuff back in '99 but so what, the genre has changed a few times, just listen to stuff from '97 and older.

You just need to realize that this a web board and you shouldn't care what others say or think. If you like and EVERYONE else hates it, who cares?

Oops I farted, sorry guys. Don't tell me to grow up when your balls are probably not even big enough to be dangling little man.

Here we go, another classic TA flame war. *Grabs a beer from the fridge and relaxes*

Er, listen to what the man has to say, he know's what he's talking about

Being a good DJ is about a lot more than being able to mix, infact I'd say being able to mix well is a pretty low priority in my books as far as trance DJ's go. As long as they can create a fairly smooth transition without losing any flow of the set that's what's important. Don't forge they're playing for the crowd and not for the thousands of people who'll download the mp3 rip to analyse the next day. DJ Tiesto has talent in my opinion; his tune selection is usually spot on, he can read a crowd brilliantly and can play a pretty wide selection of music well, depending on the occasion.

His mixing, however, is well below par when compared with other DJ's of similar status (or even less status). For some this is important, for others it's not. I havn't seen him since Novemeber when he played Gatecrasher NEC and I thought his set was one of the best of the whole event (along with Yoji & Underworld) but actually take a listen to the mixing, the transitions are pretty basic & even sloppy at times.

Aww poor guy, I disproved the logic of your post and you couldn't think of anything intelligent to say so you went and cried like a little baby. How's junior high treating you?

I'm glad people here can express opinions and be called shit heads and subsequently told to 'go die.' You're the ones who make this forum so enjoyable. No wonder so many people have quit posting here, it's turning into a bunch of 12 year olds flaming people who are actually trying to make a point.

*leaves thread*

Posted by DJ_Skaya on Jan-19-2003 00:58:

I've got a very sharp ear when it comes to mixing, but I don't take it that seriously. Besides, when you're in a club and the beat is just barely off, you don't notice it cuz the bass is throbbing so loud anyways.

It's also definitely true that some DJ's have bad nights. It doesn't always ruin the set (for me at least), but even PvD's mixing is shitty from time to time. If you don't believe me listen to PvD's Rosenmontags set, theres an example of a great set with Shitty mixing.

I hate people who post stupid threads whining about people expressing their opinions, especially when those threads represent about a quarter of their total contribution to the community, and who, when someone disagrees with them, respond like this:

quote:

If I want to hear from an asshole i'll fart.

Wow, isn't that clever! As a reward for your ingenuity, please enjoy your complimentary, all expenses paid, one way trip to my ignore list.

Oh yeah, and a real tough guy too. How admirable.

Normally, I'd consider it beneath me to bother responding to people like you, but in this case, your stupidity and immaturity are so severe that I fear others might somehow be infected by it.

In closing, I would like to implore you, sir, to never procreate. Whatever genes have produced one such as you ought never again to see the light of day. Thank you, and please don't come again.

flaming someone in a thread about flaming someone ironic and sad at the same time.

Oops i seem to have farted again guys, real sorry, won't happen again I promise. You hate me for posting my opinios on what some has just said and yet you do the same. Still it is highly immature of me when I defend myself. To all the other people who have gotten offended by my posts on this conversation, excuse me for farting out loud, I was just trying to get my point across, and if you see that as being immature than so be it, because I sure won't be the one to stop any time soon.

Actually if u knew what u were talking aobut u would know that what hes saying is tru. I have listned to several Tiesto sets and there have been crashes and poor mixing. Every Dj has their off nights as well but dont just write someone off because u dont what theyre talking about. This post is quite stupid. As said earlier, ure flaming for flaming. Why are u uspet that someone may know more about what ure talking about than u do? U seem like a pre-pubscent ignoramus when it comes to trance. U dont seem to have the ability to see past the track selection when it comes to fine djing. Dont worry it will come. You wanna hear some fine djing, listen to progressive. I hate John Digweed, I think hes boring, but ive heard that man carry blends for damn near 2.30 mins, so once again i say chill out before u condemn something, i speak from experience.

tiesto and pvd are the shit nuff said!

anyways ppl shouldnt be afriad of the scene going to cheese. Cheesy listeners will listen to the trance they play on the radio, and what some have feared MTV, but let them listen to whatevr they want, we are the true listeners. We own the scene, and as long as djs dont sell out like oakenfold then we are in good shape...

It's a brand new day, and you have knocked some sense into me. Further more, i would like to apolagize to anyone I went off on. I realize now that I have been bitching all along, and am sorry for it.

Morninglory, a wise man once told me someones opinion couldn't be wrong, and you've just made him look very very silly.
Get your coat, take tiesto's trance energy 2000 set, for an angel, and don't let the door hit your arse on the way out.

Good sir may i ask how Oakenfold sold out? Is it because he did remixes for some big time pop artist? Is it because he tried something different on his album? Is it because he did a soundtrack for a movie? Paul Van Dyk did, I dont see neone calling him a sell out. Just because Oakenfold tried things besides ure average trance dj/composer doesnt make him a sell out. To quote Mr. Mystery "Did Oakenfold ever say his album was goin to be a trance album?". Ill answer it for you, no he didnt. So before we follow the masses in our opinions, lets first understand what the masses are following.
