We should make a new thread where we argue who's the best looking girl in the world, IMO Victoria silvestedt and elizabeth Hurley are much better than JLO.

Some of you guys kill me. You consider Amsterdam and Ibiza to be the capitals of Trance, but leave out any mention of England, the home of Gatecrasher, Godskitchen and Cream? The true capitals of trance and electronic music are England, Holland and Ibiza (whole countries, not just one city).
As for North America, I'd say Montreal and Toronto are up there (never parties in MOntreal but I'm sure it's as good, or better, than Toronto. I prefer Montreal as a city though.) But don't forget New York or Miami...Club Space in Miami is bigger than the Guvernment and Aria combined! That said, I think the west coasts of both the US and Canada are lacking.
I totally agree with you DJ Smitty.
I disagree SMitty, the club scene in england is going down the shitters. Also England is more into progressive than Trance. Scotland is more into trance than england, I'm not really sure of Ireland. Also, some of the major events didn't happen last year, and clubs like Gatecrasher are closing! The time for new blood is upon us! Montreal arise!
Yeah, a few clubs have closed and are restricting their parties in England. Cream in Liverpool closed down and that's very sad. Oakenfold had a lot to with getting trance going in Europe with his residency back in 98-99. Gatecrasher went monthly...but I think that's kinda good....too many parties, as Tiesto said, ruins the scene.
But Tiesto and AVB and a shitload of guys still do big solos at Gatecrasher and Godskitchen all the time. England may be getting more progressive, but trance is still alive and well there. You can't dispute that.
True but a capital, I don't think so,and besides you names the whole country as a capital not a city. I'm not saying Canada is a trance capital, that's a joke, I'm saying Montreal and Toronto are trance capitals. I don't think you could say London or Sheffield are trance capitals. Glasgow maybe.
This arguement is futile in the sense that unless you have spent time in each of these locations, you can't *really* know what the scene is like there. You can guestimate and come up with an opinion based on what you have read. I'm sure all locals feel their scene kicks ass if they have one that is worth having pride in.
!!! pretend like i DONT know this is a joke !!!
!!! and pretend like i posted this in the Toronto version of this thread too, cuz it applies to it equally well!!!
well obviously you people haven't been to the trance scenes in europe, cuz if you think anything in north america can come close, you're quite wrong.
i'm not so sure about montreal, but toronto is disgusting. sure, there are good parties and all, but the RADIO is CRAP. most people i know, listen to shit music, i won't mention anything cuz you all know what kinds of music i'm talking about.
even on UofT radio -- whose mission is supposed to be to NOT play stuff found on commercial radio (i.e. they're supposed to be "cool" and "underground") -- all you hear (most of the time) is a repeat or mix of : hip hop, soul, r'n'b, reggae, etc. etc. etc. *bleach
and certainly don't get me started on COMMERCIAL radio... 100X worse.
i want to go somewhere....where trance artists are regularly found on the top ten charts... where people listen to it naturally.. and talk about it etc.
hence: europe.

edit: if i had to choose, though, i would definitely go for montreal. it has the european feel, and a great scene! it's my #1 choice in all of north america, certainly in canada. toronto is close #2.
