I don't quite understand why the sharing of livesets shouldn't be allowed, but that's shitty legal implications for you. Just let us break the law FFS

Unless it's off the radio (ie:Radio 1) , or it's copyrighted somehow. Cd's are illegal, anything distributed through a record company is illegal. Recording livesets goes way back to the 60's. People listening to trance sets, are just the same as the Dead heads back in the 60's who use to record Greatful dead concerts and share them, they take away the livesets, they kill the music..simple as that. |
claz nl has closed...boohooohooo
This is very scary indeed.
I just moved the main d/loads server to Asia, plus I'm UK based, ever hopeful this could help. I only offer sets ripped off the radio, never any copywrited CDs, this has been the downfall of several trance mp3 sites, Tiesto's blackhole recordings has threatened legal action against several sites. Plus I'm not a believer in sharing/ripping mp3 singles, that really is biting off the hand that feeds you. My vinyl gets bought because I hear the track in a liveset I've recorded 9 times out of 10. This way you're still indirectly contributing to the development of the trance scene.
The business model of free internet radio is not a viable one. Bandwidth still costs way way too much. Trustthedj.com will begin charging listeners 3/month or something to listen to the radio. Also note that the id-t stream quality has now dropped to 40kbps.
