-- Discogs - do YOU use it?

Yeah, I definitely use it. Great site. It does kind of suck that it takes them like...months to finally approve everything you submit, but otherwise it's awesome.
I usually have like 3/4 of my collection on there...with me going on discogs binges every now and then and adding like 50 records at a time when it starts getting too behind
I have an account there. I signed up a while back. I have a lot of records, but haven't posted much under my collection.
yeah it's quite frustrating having to wait weeks and often months for your contributions to get approved and posted... but the major reason for this is that people do not read the guidelines and submit information in the specified format and fields. Also, I definitely praise the mods for being as picky as they are, that's exactly what makes the concept so useful, because the pickier mods are, the more reliable the information.
I've had many releases approved the same day btw, helps if your mate is a moderator
Is there only a loss of quality for mp3's or does it also include Cds purchased from the store? or are you just talking about burned Cds? And what would be the difference between a Cd purchased at the store and a burned CD? Is it because the difference in the quality of a song is lost when it is encoded into MP3 format? Basically I am just interested if anyone could explain to me how a "real" CD is made differently from a burned CD. Please only reply if you know what you are talking about...
err wtf does that have to do with discogs?
he sounds like a lost newbie who hit reply instead of new thread?
as for this thread, I've been using discogs for a while to track songs where there are multiple releases with different mixes on each one. I added my collection, even though I only have 6 vinyls =/
btw Rememberance, I see that you want The Quest - C Sharp. It has been re-released on an ITWT compilation 2x12"
I thought about buying it, but after I downloaded the mp3s of the other 3 songs, which I don't know very well, I decided that $25 for only one song that I would play wasn't worth it =[

I was already using it for a while to search for info on certain releases.. Now I finally added my techno collection (and a few classic non-techno tracks) as well:

Didn't enter my trance and prog records.. Because I only have a few trance records as a 'collection' and am going to sell most of the prog ones..
I have Started My Collection
