Hi Dave,

How are you? Glad to see you post here. Welcome to the boards.

On another note. Would you be so kind to tell me if there a remix that you did of Everything But The Girl's Five Fathoms? There were rumors going around that you and Josh are the ones who remixed it.

It was broadcsated in your 08-05-2002 Global Dj Broadcast set and was also played by Oakenfold on his radio shows in the summer of 2002. Any info would be great.

Thumbs up

This is easily the best thread EVER.

Ive been enjoying Gabriel & Dresden for months now and now Dave Dresden
magically appears on TA, is this another wet dream of mine ?
I don't know but If thats the case, I hope I wont wake up.

GREAT WORK GUYS!

I agree with the above post, one of the best threads we've had on here for a while

Welcome to the forums Dave

i can't want to hear the new Andain either as like many others who have posted, 'summer calling' was defo one of the best tracks for 2002

I think i should make this a sticky thread for a while

Best of luck to you Dave

Posted by undertensecond on Jan-27-2003 10:47:

Posted by Nautica on Jan-27-2003 21:38:

Great to see you on the forums Dave!

I always buy my music (and take lots of photos of it )

The Balligomingo promo was a chance find and it has to be my favorite G&D Remix. Outstanding.

I know it sounds sucky, but wouldn't be lying if I said that you and Josh were currently my favorite producers.

I can't wait for what's coming this year!

Posted by NooKLeaR on Jan-27-2003 21:59:

*overwhelmed* i had a pretty long and emotional thread here earlier, i think it got deleted when the website was down though so ill keep this one short and sweet

you guys are fu*king cool...Mindcircus(your remix) is without a doubt my favorite song in the entire world...Lament, In My Memory, Southern Sun, Serve the Ego, Music, Travelling On, and Summer Calling have never left my playlist ever since i got them...i do buy your vinyl and am looking forward to owning On a High and When the Rush Comes(such a good song!)

Dave, are you and Josh planning to hit the clubs as well as a DJ-duo? Would love to see you guys here in Holland......

Posted by Sand Leaper on Jan-28-2003 21:45:

Well,if this isn't the best thread on the forums in a while,I don't know what is!Good to have you on board,Dave.

Needless to say,I'm the next in line of admirers of your work.Summer Calling is one of the best vocal tunes ever within the trance/prog genre IMO,and all the remixes all have one thing in common:they're all amazing.Mindcircus,Jewel,Southern Sun,Duncan Sheik etc. etc.All stunning pieces of work.Keep it up!

I must however bug you about Gabriel & Dresden pres. Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes.Could you shed some light on this fantastic vocal gem of a tune?Release date, label, vocalist etc. etc.Any info is much appreciated, and I guess you have read the thread about this tune that was posted earlier. That should be enough evidence of how big an impact it has made on some of the members here.

Ok then!Looking forward to another promising Gabriel & Dresden-year

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Jan-29-2003 01:12:

wow! i'm actually talking to gabriel & dresden...welcome to the TA boards

i really hope to hear more tracks from you this year. your remix of mindcircus is AMAZING!!! and the on a high remix just kicks ass!!! you guys are great, both spinning an producing! you're in california (right?) so maybe you could grace us vancouver TAs with your sounds!

keep up the great work dudes!

It's good to see that Dave has such a great attitude about the various responses that people have left for him and that he still seems so eager and happy to provide such great music for us to enjoy, even though file sharing has gotten so out of hand as of late.

Everyone, do support these artists as much as you can so that they can continue to deliver quality tunes for the years to come. Every little bit helps!

Dave and Josh, keep up the good work! Also, when can I expect to see you guys play in Los Angeles sometime? I've missed that past outing at Red.

Posted by davedresden on Jan-29-2003 01:24:

the Ivy remix i did for fun - i had heard their rendition of the cure song "let's go to bed" when i was in the virgin megastore and bought their cd. luckily there was an email address in the disc and wrote them asking if i could have the parts and they gave them to me. i had been talking to shawn king for a few months about a collaboration and this was our first thing. the band loves the mix but doesn't know if any of the labels who release thier records would be into putting out a mix.

you can email them to find out what the story is: TheBandIvy@aol.com is the email address.

josh and i are definitely going to play together in the future as dj's.

i'm on a high on a high there's nothing more to it!

- dave

Oh, one other thing - it's been bugging me.

Listening to that Markus Schulz show - he introduces you two as "gah-bree-el and dresden". Is he mispronouncing Josh's last name, as usually Gabriel is often pronounced as "gay-bree-el"?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Posted by davedresden on Jan-29-2003 01:41:

the brits pronounce josh's last name "gah-bree-el" and markus learned about us from a brit (graham gold) so that's probably where it comes from.

i loved ur provocative progressive cd..

amazing tunes featured on including peter heller;s expanded mix of star guitar and one of my favorite remixes of all time which was NEW ORDER-SOMEONE LIKE U(GABRIEL AND DRESDEN 911 remix)

ive been hammmering ur unplugged remix of southern sun all this year even though it came out last year..the reason being is: i lost a great friend in a car accident and ive had alot of problems..UR "AMBIENT WINDpushing climaxes" as i like to call them are beautiful..that last climax of that tune, "southern sun" is sooo beautiful and just gives me great feelings in my mind.

Ur tunes are soooo amazing...because they truly feed the soul...which is what i need.

great job and continue those great emotional tunes.

I hear Josh Gabriel and yourself will be doing an Essential Mix on March 8th. Looking forward to hearing that one

Keep up the good work!

hi dave and josh! you guys first caught my attention when i heard Josh's remix of Andain's "Summer Calling" on Tiesto's ISOS 3. that song is easily in my top 10. fortunately, my bf is a huge fan and is always introducing me to all of your latest remixes and productions and i love it all! you guys have the most unique style. i love your remixes of "On a High" and Jewel's "Serve the Ego". you guys are gods in the electronic music industry as far as i'm concerned.

any chance you will be in miami during WMC??

hehe. That was my same exact question slylee. Dave and Josh, you're on the top of my list for acts who I want to see at Ultra 5 in Miami. I have been on the listen for awhile, and after your remix of Way Out West - Mindcircus! The Fischerspooner remix was amazing especially for me, since on this board when we really love our artist's we become their "whores." I am a Fischerspoone whore, and after your remix of The 15th, I officially became a G&D whore. Southern Sun remix and all the other great ones constantly have me listening to you. Keep up the great work! And thanks for taking a minute to say thank you to us.
