does anyone know the second last track Deko-zee dropped before Harctec sat down? It was a remix of a hard german techno song that originally has german vocals in it. i think its kind of old. i MUST know this song!!!

What an AMAZING night! Premeetup had a decent turnout, got a chance to meet Diginut, Stereoprincess, RubyRiva, StarRiva, Neon and a couple others for the first time...as well as the regulars

Went in and had a little trouble with the bouncer wanting to take away my camera...i got it back tho thx to some TAs . Ivals was halfway through his set by the time we got in, he played great trance/progressive as usual... I always love hearing dark beat

Next came Orkidea. WOW his set started out SO uplifting, so energetic...and when he played U2 - Staring At The Sun (Brothers in Rythem Mix) is was like ...some of the TAs and I were singing along to it with huge smiles on our faces! (I got a video while he was spinning it, can't hear us tho..it's all bass :P) and he played Fischerspooner - Emerge (Junkie XL Remix)! I really enjoyed Orkidea's set and wasn't really sure how '00' would survive following this...

...but he did! His set started out a little slow but WOWOWOWOW perfect mixing, beautiful track selection, awseme switch to Goa/Psy...I loved it! He sure dropped some sexy tunes!

The Deko-Ze...well what can you say? It's DEKO-ZE!!! Awseme set! so banging so full of energy! Paul van Dyk - For an Angel with Sasha & Junkie XL - Beauty That Never Fades vocals playing in the background...genious!

and finally Hartec came on, and he started right where Deko-ze left off. More hard pumpin beats that actually kept me on the dance floor till the very end! And he finished with Talla 2XLC - Can You Feel The Silence...beautiful!

All in all I had a AWSEME time partying with all you TOTA's!!! (And NYTA's!! ) I'm not even gonna try and remember EVERYONE I met...you all know who you are!

And as for the pictures...

alright, i just got home like an hour ago... yay to passing out and missing my bus! lol!

i knew working before tonight, and going sober would be hard on me, but holy shit, i was damn tired. if you saw me with my eyes closed, grooving to the music, that was becuase i was resting them and thinking of sleeping! but the music wouldn't let me, hehe.

the ta meetup was cool, country style actually held us all surprisingly.

ivals was meh. it was alright, but nothing special, as a warm up set should be i guess.

i didn't know when orkidea came on, but i heard a sick epic melodic trance track, and sure enough, it was orkidea's first track! very good set, i danced tons for it. just had that feeling where the melody doesn't stop, and neither can you. i loved that underworld song he played to, the whole part leading up to where the vocals come in is awesome.

and j00f, wow. i was surprised, yet not by his set. and also by that time i was really tired from dancing to orkidea, that the music wasn't hitting me as hard. but those psy tracks he played, holy crap. soooo good. there was probably an infected mushroom track in there, and a biggie for me was faithless - god is a dj (astral projection remix) HOT DAMN. i heard this first in a new astral projection set, and hearing it in the club sounds sooo much better.

the energy deko-ze brings to the decks is crazy. by this time i got a boost of energy, probably from sitting down for 20 min. just like graham said, deko-ze mixed a lot of different styles, was pretty crazy. but when he played baguette overtop of gatex, that was so sick.

and then hartec. wasn't as hard as i wanted it (lol, the harder the better! ) but was still pretty damn good. love that hard german trance, with the nrg-like synths going off, and the loops and stuff. and yes, everyone's been saying this, but when the lights came on in the club, and you look around and see everyone going all out, to feel the silence no doubt, that made the night right there. too bad he didn't take us up on our encore request.

all in all, a crazy crazy night, both musically and physically. my whole body aches right now, and my legs feel like petrified branches or something, it's brutal.

but it was worth it

great seeing all the TAs out, old and new. i hate doing shoutouts, so if i talked to you, mad shoutouts to you ^_^ if not, i'm sure we'll meet at another party.

pics will be up whenever i get the time to sort through them. i just remembered i have a stats midterm tomorrow, of which i have done nothing... wee!

peace, Ken

el kay dee and plavka thanx!

What an awesome party!

As soon as John hit the decks I was like, I'm gonna shit as soon as he drops the first record and low and behold...I was pummeled with some of the sickest beats I have ever heard in my life. Very wicked trancy/progressive sounds coming from that guy. I was very impressed.

Orkidea kicked ass as per usual. Some cool vocal tracks in there to spice things up.

I've never heard Dekoze before and he was also really good. He did a really good job of keeping everyone moving well into the wee hours of the am.

Went up with Nytehawk and another buddy and got there a little early but they were still holding up a line despite the club being empty...I dont' know what's up with that.

I met alot of TAs and I was really stoked about that. Durafie, Elmo on XTC, Highroller, Tatgirl, Diginut, and much more, still can't think right now But you were all really cool and I hope to hit all the TA meetups from now on.

I thought the atmosphere was awesome. Lazers were smokin, people were cool, sound was good (loud but what do you expect), and it wasn't too crowded, and it seemed like everyone was dancing.

I'm glad to see you made it home! Was it hard to get home, how long did you have to wait for the train?

I don't think anything else really needs to be said that hasn't been said already except.....

THANK YOU VIVA FOR BRINGING BACK ORKIDEA!!!!!

I know I posted a thread requesting him, others did as well.. it seemed skeptical that it'd happen, but it did and he did not disappoint. What a great beginning to 2003!

I could spend hours giving out shout outs, but I won't- but here are some honorable mentions-

Articboy- SO good to party with you again- I'm sure it was worth the trip from Connecticut.

Bucky- I was looking for u all nite! Glad u made it anyways.

TrueToTheCrew- Where'd u go?? I was looking for you to introduce you to Drewfactor (also from hamilton), but u were nowhere to be found.

Drewfactor & Nytehawk- I felt really bad about the half-assed goodbye I gave you. I think I got distracted, then tried looking for you, but I guess you'd left.

mot10n- I'm SOOOOO sorry I overslept and made you miss your bus, amking you late for your dad's b-day thing. I hope your parents will still let you come out and play with me again.

rubyriva & jessica- you 2 are a trip. Next time EAT before pounding 100-proof vodka! LOL! (BTW- it was rubyriva who was freaking out to the PVD tune ).

NeonAlien- thanks for keeping your promise and showing up. you were a little freaky last nite, but I'm gonna guess it had something to do with that new haircut of yours.

AmbiguousBliss- it was nice meeting another female TA.

StereoPrincess & Gamma- nice partying with you again- it's been a while!

HighSpirit- I love you (and Nicole) so much!

Frank- so happy to see you at Viva for your 1st time- hope to party with u more often.

**And special thanks go to itikia for making these parties happen for us, and never disappointing us. You've given us a great gift...
swamper- without you, we would not have each other.

Everyone else- I love you all!!!!
ok- enuf sappy shit. peace out.

Man, I had to wait till shortly after 9 in order to catch a bus. Luckily it was the express straight to Hamilton. So it was sorted, but no fun waiting half passed out. Unfortunately no trains were coming.

True to the Crew: Tatgirl was looking for you to introduce since you're in the Hammer too. Sorry you had to leave...I'm sure there'll be a next time.

Posted by trancearmada on Feb-02-2003 23:24:

first of I am still tired even after 9 hours of sleep.

Got into the club and Ivals met us with Funk-A-Tron sick sick sick! Than he dropped crazy tribal/tech-house shit OMFG! It kept me dancing like crazy for the first hour. And than "Filterheadz - The One Who Got Caught" was his best tune of the night!

Orkidea played a great set, awesome stuff a little weak in parts but overall a great great set none the less. Flawless mixing, unlike some prior DJ's that spun there Emerge, Loneliness and than Dinosaur 3D Adventure! AWWWWWWWESSOMEEEEEEE! 11th Hour ???????? (HALO? LKD? What was that track again?)

Flemming what can I say, I thought he had the worst set of the whole night. Nice first part of the set, but than he went goa and I was like WTF? (DISCLAIMER: Before you go and start flaming, think about what others said about Ivals, they did not like him, but I loved him) I know Flemming is notorious for playing some of it in his sets, but my God enough is enough. He went on for at least 2 hours with it if not more. I used to like Goa in '96-'97 period but than it before I got into trance and later progg and techno. And has anyone noticed he used 95% CD's when he spun? WTF? None the less he spun a few good tunes.

De-Koze was the shit! Awesome tech-house/tech-trance set, I tried my best to keep moving but Fleming had put me to sleep. And I could barely move as my feet fell asleep. So half way into it I had to leave the club due to so personal matters. Gatex? LOL!

Party atmosphere was great and I would have to say this was the best time I had at VIVA. Thank you VIVA.

On another note I got the 1st Aniversary poster signed by Orkidea and Flemming, and that cool key chain (did everyone in the club get one?)

IMO Ivals, Orkidea and De-Koze had the best sets of the night!

As always shut outs to all the TA's represeting! To many of you to name you can pretty much just look at LKD's list and see that I met most of those people there, plus a few un-named ppl here and there

Posted by bucky on Feb-02-2003 23:28:

ohhhhh yea.... Ivals... I LOVED his set... I'd never heard him before and want to hear more.. that nice driving progressive trance (at least my description of it) was great. thats all for now!

tatgirl - i saw ya once, but didn't feel like pushing my way through the crowd...

YEA!! I've been waiting for over a year to see the guy, and finally I did. I had a chance to talk to him for a bit, and he seems like a really nice and down to earth kind of guy. I told him that I hope he comes back soon (hint, hint).

As for the night; AMAZING Orkidea completely destroyed me; and as I expected he worked his way around from Prog trance, to regular trance and I think he even threw in a breaks tune in (or at least one with a really long breaky buildup). Un-fuckin-believable!!

J00F did what he did in August; dropped sickass beats all night. I think I enjoyed Orkidea's set better since I've already seen 00. But both of them rocked the world. Coming in to this party I was thinking to myself that this is a killer combo and it was. One thing that I was praying for was that Orkidea and J00F would tag-team for a bit, but that didn't happen. Oh well.

So yea, awesome party and good luck to anyone trying to top it.

edit And props to all the TA's I've partied with through out the night; LKD, Time2burn, Endlesswave, Desidel, Durafei, Halo20, Ninja Pimp, Hordash, Hardcore Trancer, Tatgirl, Mecha, E*Master, Flec, Highroller, Rubyriva (it was nice talkin to ya) and Trancearmada you people make the parties a night to remember

Oh, and if anyone wants a tracklist from the event, this is all I know that was dropped;

Orkidea:
Atlas - Compass Error (Tarrantella vs Redanka remake)
U2 - Staring at the Sun (Brothers in Rhythm remix)

J00F:
Junkie XL & Sasha - Beauty Never Fades
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (J00F mix)

Intransigence is all around
Military still in town
Armour plated suits and ties
Daddy just won't say goodbye

Referee won't blow the whistle
God is good but will He listen
I'm nearly great
But there's something missing
I left it in the duty free
But you never really belonged to me

You're not the only one
Staring at the sun
Afraid of what you'd find
If you stepped back inside

I'm not sucking on my thumb
I'm staring at the sun
Not the only one
Who's happy to go blind

*waits impatiently for Orkidea's return*
