maybe cuz it usually takes months to finish!

i thinkfatboy musy choose but if he doesnt want to i think a non trance track would be interesting.
anyway my thoughts:
Gladiator Theme
Mauro Picotto - Back to Cali
some pop songs

I have all power, and I go for the Ketchup Song!

jk.. I think the best thing to do is to remix something that many people want to. Don't want to push through my silly suggestions But like some have said, it could be fun to remix something out of the ordinary, like classics, cheese or non trance. At first I thought that Carte Blanche would be a blast to do, but at second thought that tune is pretty much perfection and not much in need of a remix. Something with vocals would also be fun, I liked working with them this time

Why don't we take a couple of days with suggestions and then find out how to do the next one..

Peace

Keep in mind that if you pick a song with vocals, there has to be an acapella available (which is rare).

How about Cygnus X - The Orange Theme?

Posted by Pjotr G on Feb-06-2003 13:07:

hmm IMHO the best trance track ever. Don't wanna remix it I'd fuck it up!

omg.. you almost gave me a heart attack

how about remixing a non-trance track!
that would be very cool!
in the holland forum, there`s gonna be a remix compo and the track that will prolly be remixed is muse - sunburn
i`ve fucked around with this track and its very cool 2 try and remix an non-trance track, much more fun

think about it

Posted by tu_face on Feb-06-2003 16:08:

sunburn has been done recently... and timo made such a good job

i still think it should be a TA-made track.. but i wouldnt mind doing universal nation. it will b hard to do (as the original is so damn good) but i think its good to have a challenge

Posted by mantisnl on Feb-06-2003 16:13:

i wasnt saying that we should use sunburn, i said that it would be cool 2 do a simular track

some one make a poll on the suggested ideas or ask fatboy to decide the track as he was the winner!

if it goes to a vote then

carte blanche

i think remixing a cheese track or a non-trance track would be a good idea...

i mean... most trance tracks out there are already near perfection and don't really need a remix of it anyways...

however, it will take a lot more skill and talent to make a remix of a cheese track that sounds good...

i mean.. if you take a piece of pure gold and refine it, it's not gonna get much more better... However, if you take like let's say a piece of gold ore and refine that, then you can make it into pure gold which is more refined...

my point is, we could remix something easy.. like cygnus x - the orange theme... or we could do something hard like some pop song or something... which one would you feel more inclined to do? Remix of the orange theme?? i mean... seriously, it won't take a lot of talent... like a lot of talent will just go down the drain...
but if we take something hard, it will build our skills as producers, and it will be extremely fun to do...

so.. my vote goes for let's remix a cheese or non-trance track...
I think some good ideas for remixes are:
1. Any slow non-trance songs by sarah maclaughlin
2. A movie sound-track like LOTR or James Bond or something...
3. Cheese like Dj Sammy - Heaven or Alice Deejay - Better off alone
4. A good rock tune... like Our Lady Peace or U2 or something
5. Britney Speares ... (on second thought... nah )
6. A classical tune like (that song you always hear in weddings... Pacquerbell's something ???? )

Or... alternatively, we could have a very open remix comp where everyone is allowed to choose like any non-trance or cheese trance track to remix...

These are just several of my ideas

I have an acapella of Eminem's "Without Me".
Any takers?

shame on u

Carte Blanche is almost impossible to remix me thinks... I've tried, and you gotta have a hell of alot of inspiration to 'improve' the melodies to your taste.

Something out of the ordinary seems like fun to me. Like a non-trance track. Rob Searle remixed Franky Goes To Hollywood - The Power Of Love for instance. But then again, a nice midi file would be helpful. But of these tracks, they're alot easier to find as well probably and will save the trouble of making it ourselves.

Cheers

OMG the Alphazone remix of 'Ian van Dahl - Try' is awesome! It would be great if anyone had the acapella of that song, cuz it would be a great challenge to try and make a remix as good as Alphazone's!

Posted by Nightflowers on Feb-09-2003 22:47:

anything would be great, please someone take a decision
some songs that I've acapellas :

Earth_Wind_&_Fire_-_Boogie_Wonderland
Stardust_-_The_music_sounds_better_with_you
soulsearcher - can't get enough
CeCe Peniston - Finally
Chic - Good Times
Fragma - Toca's Miracle
Madison_Avenue_-_Don't_Call_Me_Baby
Mark Morrison - Return Of The Mack
Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch

but my vote goes to Alena - Turn It Around or Celeda - The Underground

Dario G - Dream To Me
Klubbheads - Kickin' Hard
Kosheen - Catch
kosheen - hide u
Lange - I Believe
Olive - You're Not Alone
Wild Child - Renegade Master
