i'd laugh my ass off if he got caught AHHAHAHA. if he got caught it would be great! but you know whats even more dumber than selling them, is the people are actually buying them! probably shitty quality and everything. IMO this guy is stupid and should be kicked off the hub because he's using the real TA's music and dj's music and selling it for his own profit. what a jerk off
Hmmmmmmm.. This dude has 5 posts.. Is that being active? Or don't you have to be active here anymore to be let in?

This is all qualifies as theft. Although, I must admit - I do feel ripped off buying Global Underground Oakenfold in Oslo CD -it reaked and it was 100% legit. If I could return the shite that sits on my shelves for at least 1/3 of what I paid, I could easily have a nice downpayment for a Porsche 911 turbo.... Hell, when someone asked me before "Do you invest" I would say, "Certainly - in CDs" and they'd be like "OH... wow". Little did they know that it was not Certificate of Deposits but Compact Discs...hehehe ![]() So, in a way - MP3s have paved the way for better music buying experience. I am totally happy with having a choice in what songs I have in my collection, that's why if the industry smartened up and made it possible to buy "Guns and Roses - Welcome to the Jungle" as a single track instead of buying a CD with 14 other songs you don't care for - it would have made a big difference. They are just getting to that point now. Anyway, do I think selling MP3 cds is right??? NO, but am I guilty of downloading MP3's??? Yes... Fellas, every minute the sucker is born - if you don't take advantage of him, someone else will. This is a pure and simple concept on which the capitalism runs. Someone is just cheekier than you to pull it off. So, he's a wanker - we know that... but without wankers no one would appreciate decency, right??? ![]() By the way - you think this is bad??? Go to NYC brighton beach and visit any of the russian music/video stores. About 20 of them in a stretch of less than 1/2 of mile - each peddling 90% of bootleg/illegal music and videos. And this is a business that pays taxes, has a physical address, and several employees. Shelves and shelves of CDs, tapes, Videos, DVDs of copyrighted stuff selling for about 1/2 to 1/4 of original price... So.... |
LMAO
I'm not supporting this guy or anything. I hope they somehow find a way to charge him in any way possible (if such thing was possible to accomplish)...
here is my view of things...before i had a DSL connection i wasnt really educated about trance didnt know shit...i thought compilations like future trance was god gift to trance lovers and payed 25 freakin bucks for it..my god used to send me back...and why the fuck would a cd cost 25 bucks anyways u can get a blank cd for like a quarter..i mean if the cds are sold for like 6-8 bucks life would be so much easier...after i got a dsl connection and started downloadind some mp3s and learn about what trance really is and started to be intrested in djs like pcd and tiesto and now whenever they r in town i pay 30 bucks to go see em play..before mp3 i would like tiesto who??? gimme some dj sammy he is gooood..so mp3s helped alot i think...i would personaly ather pay 25 bucks to see an artist play and enjoy myself than for a freakin cd that i will throw away in a week knowing that i got ripped off....thats my 2 cents peeps..
I was hardcore dling on my 28.8 until last year. they didnt offer dsl or cable in my area till bout a year ago. but the connect has allowed me to view a much larger spectrum of music. My whole argument was the selling of something you dl. i mean to dl is one thing but to sell is a whole new issue.

I guarentee you there are another few thousand members of this forum that could tell you the same thing. mp3s = exposure = interest = purchases = profits One might go so far as to say that downloading mp3s helps the industry. Unless of course you're referring to pop, which already has all the exposure it needs. |
Yeah, this guy has nearly 300GB shared on the hub...yet only one slot open and it's practically impossible to get anything off of him. Very unfair while he leeches from us then makes money off of our MP3 collections.
The way I see it, everything is OK until we get to the part where he makes profit from it...That's when I draw the line
Downloading is allright, but if you make profit from it, you should be ashamed

I'm in an endless cycle of download-burn-get off small 20 GB HDD and back around again. |
i'm with those who believe there is a difference in downloading and selling. way i see it, i download mp3s cuz of lack of money to support my desire to have trance. we're all young people here, and one can understand the need to make money. BUT to sell your mp3s to ppl is plain wrong. downloading spreads the love, informs us of new stuff out there and wut not in hopes of us spending more money on actual copies...but getting money off work that is blatantly not yours is wrong, by law and by morals. from a musician's standpoint, not getting paid for their art/music is one thing, someone MAKING MONEY off of it is most definitely another. there are shitloads of law books and copyright infringements that i'm sure this guy is in violation of.
sidenote: i would not have been as against it as seeing he's sharing 300 gigs, but seeing as someone pointed out he only has one slot open? um...that's not right dude. i share my meager 12 gigs with 5 slots on a cable modem.
i question you (archon810) and give you a chance to defend yourself...how much profit are you making off this? do you not feel you are doing the producers an even BIGGER disservice by selling stuff that isn't yours?
time for patriotic TA declarations...but bear with me cuz i think there is a certain truth and validity to it. we are all TA's...and most are true lovers of trance and not leechers. many thanks to this kid who is sharing 300 gb of trance...but making money off it, that's another matter entirely. he argues that he is selling mp3 cd's to dj's, people who are ignorant about trance cuz they can't speak english, lack the fast internet connections, lack hard drive space...whatever. if he wasn't partially using the hub as a source of download for his music, i would not interfere...but he is. regardless of how fast or slow any of our connections are...we have painstakingly collected our trance over time. we love our trance...and we may hoard it amongst us TA's...but we love it nonetheless and appreciate it for what its worth. if this guy was such a big trance lover, and wanted to give all these ignorant ppl a chance to hear trance, then he should do it freely...out of the pure goodness of his heart, instead of making money off of it. i don't think it's right that he is downloading off our hub and making a profit out of it. we love trance. we spend eons listening to it, clubbing to it, dancing to it, dreaming to it, sleeping to it, breathing it...and he is making money from it...that just strikes me as sacrilegious for lack of a better word.
he must go.

to binkun and everyone else: i'm gladly sharing as long as you ask me. whether i have 2 or 3 slots doesn't matter, since i'm uploading with the remaining ul bandwidth that i have, if i had 2 slots, it would only mean that the uploads would finish twice as slow. Talk to me if you want an extra slot instead of bitching. this is not ftp, we have chat, ok?
And 1 slot, yes I have 1 slot, because I have an ftp on the same connection, and hosting off dsl isn't that fast you know... last year I had T3, and did you see me hog the bw?? I had 30 uploads going at the same time all the time. I can't push my limits off the $hit, i only have that much. give me T3, I'll give you 100 ul spots, I contribute whatever bandwidth I can anyway. Plus living with 2 other people who want internet faster than AOL dialup means something too, since ADSL slows downloads immensely when uploads are approaching full speed.
As for selling, I understand it's wrong and nevertheless, where does the insignificant amount of money go if i'm lucky to receive it? That's right - hard drive space, where did you think a college student can get 300 GB of space? Plus if you're saying I get all music for free, I do pay for it, newsgroups cost money too.
BTW, go on eBay and spam the guy who's selling mp3 CDs there too and spam all the websites that sell ISOs and music CDs and videos for money.
Alright it seems that ppl fell over the fact that Archon180 sells cd's with copyrighted tracks..
I kinda agree with them caus it "sounds" a really evil thing you do, but in fact everyone who isn't buying the original vinyl or cd after downloading an mp3 is as guilty as Archon180 is.
So if we stop making a big deal out of this and face the fact that this is in fact happening everywhere this flaming can end..
It would be great if his ISP bills him for all the music he's been downloading
Downloading music is fine by me...i do it all the time...but making a profit of it and not buying ANY music to pay the artists for royalties is a no no

heh, tranceDJ, get a job? naaaaaaaaaaah
jk
Actually I'm looking for one, but university takes up a lot of time...
About most people being honest, don't even start, people?? honest??? hahahaha.
You guys are pissed that he is doing something illegal in selling Data he takes the time to download, and some argue that it takes away from the companies that put out the material in the first place. Next you guys are saying he shouldnt be selling stuff we spend hours/months/years/centuries to download. Well look at like this, to start off, Downloading mp3's for the most part is Illegal, so your not helping anyone out much financially by doing so, because how many of you download music and then run out to the store and buy yourselves a hard copy of it? 2-5% maybe?
Next I think what he is doing is a great service, Say you loose your hardrive and with it goes MOnths if not Years(for me at least) of downloading songs movies and other files...20 40 100 200 gb's of data.....gone. WTF are you going to do? Piss in your pants and cry that you lost all that data you have been spending so much time on downloading. Then comes along someone that in my view will be doing you a Favor to offer such a service to give you the option to buy the some or most of the Data that you use to have, off him for a negotiable price. Now do you want to spend hours, months, years downloading it all over(most of the time you wont find some of the stuff again, or even remember everything you had), or do you want someone to help you get back where you left off minus some files he might not have. Now about him, I think its not kool to have 300gb of data, leech off people and have only 1 slot open for sharing, that I cant stand. Anyhow...Think about it, there are always 2 sides to everything.
He was kicked and had a temp ban. Somebody has reported this to Bizz and if it continues there may be a temporary ban / account removal. To Archon810: Sharing music and having slots means nothing, all of us have that. Spamming the hub and selling music that is not yours is what you're doing. So if it continues there will be (sorry to sound like such an ass) action taken.
enfuse dub: about sharing, again, as i already said, if you ask me, i'll grant you a slot, ask people in the hub.
