number?

Personally I like Metrx protein shakes(the double chocolate one)..When I started working out seriously, I would take Metrx everytime after a workout. In about 2 months or so I gained about 7 lbs of muscle weight(all my life I had trouble gaining weight)...and I also ate more in general (steaks, and more steaks). Metrx is on the pricey side though, the GNC whey protein is a good buy..huge tub for like 40 bucks.

Btw, how much protien do you find in fish, specifically salmon? I know its a lot, and I eat like an assload of fish as often as I can (sometimes like 1.5 pounds in one helping!). Is there any specific number?

A serving of salmon generally has about 30G of protien in it. I dont know exactly how big a servering is though.

Like I said, I use Interactive ISO whey. THis stuff is about the best whey powder I've found. 39g per serving. It is also created in such a way that does not denature the protien, leaving it in a pure state.

"This form of Whey Protein Isolate has an outstanding reputation for quality because of its high protein percentage and excellent protein efficiency ratio."

You can find it on the net for $44.00 CND / 2 lbs

Posted by davinox on Feb-14-2003 03:20:

i do about the same as orbax.

5 reps of 250 crunches
then 5 reps of 250 crunches with tucking my legs in, hard to explain.
in between i do pushups and curls. used to do pushups in reps of 50, now i do em in 30 cuz i got weaker.

Posted by DJ Chrono on Feb-14-2003 03:22:

Every day I do 100 full sit-ups, 50 lying down bicycles, and 50 sit-ups where you have your legs bent in the air.

as for push-ups.. I do none. I dont like pushups.

Nrjizer, like I said I wouldn't take supplements if I were you, but looks like you dont want to listen...

Why is it that people always want the easy way out; getting the job done well seldom/never has an easy way out.

I have a good friend whos works out with a lot of intensity and doesn't use supplements whatsoever; he's been working out for 3 years more then i have seriously; the man is disgustingly cut and has incredible muscle density like he's stronger then people 1.5-2.0x his size. I myself am approcing a similar result.

Isn't that what you want? Very high definition, with mediocre but very dense bulk? You're not going to get it with your protein shakes or whatever other gimik you try.

Its really quite simple. You want quality results, you have to put in the hard work and there's no way to go around that. This goes for weightlifting like it goes for a million other things in life. If you take short cuts you will only look bigger but you'll never achieve incredible cuts and incredible muscle density.

To me its funny when I see some really big guy who can't chest press as much as me or curl as much as me and I'm half his size - tells me exactly the quality of his approach. In fact there's more people who don't know wht the f*ck they're doing then there are who are trully reaping the benefits. Which group do you want to be in?

Posted by nrjizer on Feb-14-2003 08:58:

im not after an instant results protien shake. All im after is protien. Ive been eating plenty of fish and lean meats and soy, ect when I can, but the fact is I dont always have time to prepare them. A good helping of protien in the morning will boost your blood sugar and give you shit loads of energy all day. I wouldnt mind a good protien shake and a bowl of cerial to help me get going when I have other things on my mind than preparing food. Even if I wasnt starting an exercise routine, I would still like to have it anyways.

I dont really beleive in supplements. I take some vitamins, thats about it.

I don't understand all these supplement bashing comments...drinks like Metrx are just protein and vitamins and some other natural stuff..its for people that cannot get all those things just by diet alone. Obviously you are not gonna see any results just drinking those things, but it can help you get the desired result you want if used with proper exercise. Cause who really is gonna get 150+ grams of protein per day just by eating alone??

What hype? It is a known fact you need a certain level of protein intake after a workout to help you gain muscle mass. I mean you can cater your diet carefully and still get the amt of protein without the fat, but for lazy people like me I just make a shake after a workout and be done with it.
