and I'm sure a few people on here have said most of Picotto's tracks are ripped off of someone elses stuff, I'm sure Verminator could fill us all in....

How can u say most of his tracks are rip-offs.
Have u heard the other 2 mixes of komodo on the superclub bxr label, what is pegasus a rip off of. Theres all those other mixes of ltlt that nobody seems to remember, all his work under the aliase megamind, the awesome e.p. the metamorphose e.p. All the different mixes of iguana. the no acid and megamind mixes of pulsar plus the original tea mix.

You must be misinformed on this subject otherwise you would never have said the above.

Picotto is a great producer, but not to everybodies liking, just as tiesto or avb are not to my liking. People who don't like him should say they don't like him and leave it at that instead of making up such bullshit about the guy being a rip off merchant, when half the time he is the one being ripped off.

When you consider he was the executive producer for every bxr tune that came out up until a few months ago, that shows you he is no rip off merchant. And do you think it's any coincidence that since his departure from bxr the quality of the newer releases have gone down hill faster than alberto tomba.

agreed, i love techno, but it all boils down to how deep ya wanna go.. anything deeper than picotto i start to lose interest

Posted by mos man on Feb-20-2003 16:36:

Smiley DJ

true, i can go as far as beyer, but ush... poeeeowww right outa the window

Posted by chesco on Feb-20-2003 16:43:

Hopefully this may settle this argument as far as how good a dj he is.

Beyer, umek, liebing, mills, and all these long time techno dj's do not play nearly the same style of techno as mauro picotto. Therefore they cannot be compared. To say he plays kid on techno is also not true. What he plays is a trance,tech/trance,tech/house and techno all mixed together,(and has done so since I first heard him about 3/4 years ago) which I think is the reason he recieves so much critisism of the techno purists. (who cares what they think tho').

I just find it sad that people have to make up rubbish about him because they don't like his style or cos' he's that little bit different from the rest.

Anyway everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and mine is that he rocks.

Very interested to hear that Armin sued Mauro. I have to say though that the first time i heard 'Bluefear' last year, i did think it sounded very similar to 'Like This Like That'.

I have to say though that Mauro wouldn't be where he is today if he was shit. If he was shit, he wouldnt't be gettin the amount of gigs he gets, he wouldn't be selling the huge amount of records that he does. Although Mauro's techno may not appeal to some of you's on here, remember that it does appeal to a lot of people and that is why he is so successful. Remember trance doesn't appeal to everyone but it's still successful. Everyone has different opinions.

My own view of Mauro is that he is very good. I like his style, his productions, and although i havent heard a lot of sets from him, the ones that i have heard i think are excellent.

Posted by undertensecond on Feb-20-2003 17:57:

not really not really

Posted by Taub on Feb-20-2003 22:34:

the techno purists hate mauro because he was a "cheese" trance dj and then crossed over to "techno" or started to play techno tracks

When everyone thinks of hears mauro picotto they think techno, but he hasnt been a techno dj for that long. That kind of credit going to mauro as a great techno dj will piss of a lot of techno djs and techno purits who have supported their techno dj all throughout their career. The real techno djs dont get credit for what they have done for the scene.

baguette, verdi, lizard, iguana, proximus, pegasus, komodo, awesome, bangkok, hong kong, cyberfood, random, pulsar, back to cali, we're back, like a dog, freetown, charm, luna, prendi and scappa, kebab, liberty drum ... thats all I can remember

Dont forget his aliases, Megamind and CRW

Think before you say something

Anyways, I really like Mauro, his tunes and his sets. He plays it more groovy and rocking, instead of darker and repetitive like Ive heard Beyer play. I guess its a matter of personal preference.

And no, Im not impressed by the fact that "real" techno DJ's can play 2-3 tunes in a matter of 5 minutes or so. I dont really care if a DJ spins 10 tunes in his hour long set or 25, good music is still good music. Just because someone can spin more tunes in a shorter amount of time doesnt automatically make him a better DJ. And for the record, all of the Picotto sets ive heard have had perfect mixing...

I've never downloaded a Picotto set. Which one should I get?

Constructive? - in the same way as your racist posts in the UKTA forum?

His 'constructive' post was a reply, and an insult against me based on my reply to the first post of this thread:

quote:
Mauro picotto is the best techno dj and producer on earth so dont be a DICK Trying to say shit about him... when dj'S are not The usual producers and dj's. when you cant understand how original they are, you have no other chance than talk shit about them,

Which certainly deserved and, frankly was asking for a reply.

Frankly Chesco, the day i start listening to anything a racist f*ck like you says is gonna be a very sad day.

Posted by mos man on Feb-23-2003 13:25:

word, i am black so why dont you fuck off rascist prick

Mauro is a better DJ than producer but take Marco V for example listen to how similar Visions is to Godd ! All producers use the same loops etc to save time.

MAURO IS EUROPEAN TECHNO KING !!
